The Anchor in Danbury is the epitome of an English Country Inn, boasting beautiful traditional beams, quaint shining brass and a warm welcoming atmosphere which has made this pub a firm favourite for many years.
We have a lovely large garden with a fun children's play area, great for keeping the kids entertained while you catch up with friends and family over a relaxing drink or with some great food.
- Four legged friends are welcome at the pub, please ask our friendly staff for confirmation on which areas can accommodate you as we do require that dogs are kept out of the main dinning areas.
- Please note reservations with a dog are necessary, and can only be taken over the phone on 01245 222457 stating you have a dog.
- If you have a pushchair/buggy we ask that you call to make reservation, due to limited space.

We have been to the Anchor a number of times but unfortunately it was below the back normal standard yesterday. Two of us had the surf and turf burgers for mains, the beef burger itself was very over cooked and dry, with no sauce on the burger it was incredibly dry. The room we were in was incredibly hot (despite it being cool outside). I'm sure we will go back again but maybe give other places a try.

We must admit to have involved with the overall noise, noise being lunchtime chatter, I would guess evening dinning would very tranquil.

Disappointed We always use the venue but this time we were disappointed, The food was very good as usual but the service was very slow and we had flies and wasps around the table even though we were eating inside

Staff were informative & friendly. Good knowledge as my niece is gluten free 🙂. On a very busy night the choice of specials was extensive & service great. Lovely ambience & a great night had by all .

Lovely place to meet and eat. Huge selection served by very friendly staff. Excellent choice if places to sit, both inside and outside the pub. All areas so well maintained with beautiful flowerbeds and hanging baskets.
