Nice place and great for a special event. Feel they cannot be a restaurant as well. The food is ok but average in the restaurant. The property has so much potential to be a very special place and maybe events is their forte but needs to offer special food to go with it, if the restaurant is to continue.

View was lovely- service was good - disappointed to see a Brake bros lorry arrive showing wholesale catering food is served. I was expecting Chef/ home cooked food from a 4☆ hotel. The Apple crumble I would recommend removing from your menu. Baked apples with broken biscuits ontop= a bit of a laugh !

Hi Maryon, Thanks for taking the time to review us. We do use a wholesale company for many dry store items, like condiments, oil, flour etc where we need to get products to make our home cooked / chef cooked food. We use local suppliers for everything else, Fruit Basket for all our fruit & vegetables, County Butchers, for all our meat & Premier Fish for all our fish & seafood. We strive to ensure we make the most out of every dish from local suppliers. With a new menu being written & weekly specials coming up, we hope we can welcome you back again soon.

We got married 3 years ago at the Alverbank and they really went out of their way to ensure we had an amazing celebration. So we decided to celebrate our 3rd wedding Anniversary there. Megan and Harvey were very welcoming and accommodating. We had another lovely celebration. Thank you!

A friendly welcome to us and our guests, followed by efficient service produced by attentive and effective staff. All six of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, all of which were excellently cooked, presented and was delicious. We all agreed the Alverbank Hotel deserved the highest of recommendations. We will continue to enjoy eating at the Alverbank Hotel. The staff are an absolute credit to the venue.

We had an amazing meal at the Alverbank. The venue is modern and clean. There is a lovely ambience in the dining area, even though there was only few in that night, it didn't matter. The starters were exquisite. Then mains were just wonderful. We have not had such a great meal out in a long time. I highly recommend the tarragon chicken. Anisha and staff were just so helpful and polite. We will definitely be returning and recommend to others.
