This WAS one of my favorite places in Jackson. This time the food was awful! Tough, chewy pork, flavorless spatzel, horrible crepe. Very disappointed!

While the restaurant and staff we very good the food was a disappointment. We both had Schinzel and while it tasted fine the portion size was easily half the size of other German restaurants that were less expensve. The spatzel and red cabbage were also half portions. Could explain why the restaurant was only half full in spite of having a live band that evening. Most restaurants in Jackson Hole are more expensive but they tend to have better quality and larger portion sizes. Not here.

The Wiener schnitzel was horrible. A fried cowboy boot would have been more tender and tasty. Only bad meal in Jackson

The food was delicious! We started with the goulash and a crepe-the broth of the goulash was so flavorful! My husband had the chicken in mushroom sauce which was very good, I had the meatballs in mashed potatoes which was delicious! I would have liked a little more gravy but it was nothing to complain about! We ended with an apple strudel and the decadent chocolate cake-which was moist and fluffy, not dense or too rich. We sat on the porch so we could watch the hustle and bustle of the people in Teton Village. Our waiter was very good! He was prompt and professional. Overall a great experience and we will come again!!

Walleye lightly breaded and done to perfection. One diner subbed red cabbage and spaetzle instead of the asparagus and carrots...loved the substitution! Jaegerschnitzel is a favorite with the brown sauce and mushrooms. This time though there were very few tiny mushroom pieces...skimpy. Wienerschnitzel was tender and delicious. The chocolate cake is scrumptious and great to share. Good service and a nice place for quiet dining. We are not fond of dogs by our table but know many are okay with that.

At first glance this place seemed nice and we were seated quickly but then it took about 10 minuets before our waitress came to get our order. Food came out quickly but the portions were tiny! Only half my plate was filled with food and it was barely enough to fill me up. The Jägerschnitzel wasn’t crispy and left a lot to be desired. The Spetzle and Blaukraut were good but the portion was tiny. My husband ordered the burger and it was pretty generic, I don’t think they even toasted the bun. After we ate we sat around for about 15 min waiting for someone to clear the table. We eventually went inside to get the bill. They had two servers for the entire place ans you could tell they were being overworked. I felt bad because it’s clearly was a lack of good management , not the servers fault.

We should have known when we were 1 of 2 tables that we were in trouble. 1 server for 2 tables and I had to track him down twice. Once to order and once to pay. Save your money and eat somewhere else. Cute building and has potential, food less than spectacular.

There is so much potential for Alpenhof being at the foot of the Grand Tetons. The restaurant had a nice German atmosphere, and spectacular views, with good service and attentive staff. However, I hate to say it but this did not resemble any German food I had during my 5 year's living in Germany. We tried just about everything - Jaegerschnitzel, knockwurst, Bratwurst, etc. It was a huge disappointment. The only thing taking me back to Germany was the beer. Go for beer, eat elsewhere.

Food was the highlight of the evening, along with young but attentive service. Very limited menu, just a handful of entrees. The bar was under repair so no cocktails. Very limited wine choices and none of them were all that great. The place really needs to be updated and refreshed. It's looking its age.

Jaegerschnitzel was very good. Served with delicious brown mushroom sauce, red cabbage and spaetzle. Ample portion. The Walleye was very good and served with carrot sticks and asparagus...would have enjoyed spaetzle with it! For dessert their chocolate cake was scrumptious and good to share. The wine, La Cappucina, was not a favorite. Enjoyed the meal, atmosphere and would dine there again.

Waiters are super friendly. Tasty food and good value. For main course we had the following 2 entrees and will recommend if you like chicken and fish. They also have veal and pork if you prefer those 1) Jaegerschnitzel - chicken sautéed in a wild mushroom sauce. Served with spatzle and red cabbage and 2) Vander Schnitzel - Walleye Oike filet breaded topped with Riesling butter sauce. Served with asparagus and carrots For appetizer, we shared an order of goulash. For dessert, we had the fondue.

We love German/Austrian food and European vibe, so thought this would be an adventure, but we were disappointed all around. Quaint and a bit dog-eared, the dining room held promise, but even though only 1 other table was occupied, service was slow. The menu was limited and not as depicted on TA's description, and the food was mediocre. We shared a pretzel, which was okay, but dry. The schnitzel was good, but not hot, and served with spaetzel, not potatoes. The goulash was hot and tasty, but lacked potatoes. The crepe was chewy and drab (surprising for a lemon dessert). And the service not attentive. We theorize restaurant service is worst when the place is not busy, and this Sunday visit may be an anomaly, but overall, a disappointing experience.

This is a lovely and charming Bavarian restaurant at Teton Village. The fondue, though overpriced, was good and the crepes and apple strudel were delicious and authentic. Bavarian music was piped in and the views of the mountains only added to the experience.

The experience was a little odd and surreal. We arrived 20 minutes early with the hopes of getting a drink in the bar. Bar closes at 6:30pm on a Saturday. The guy at the front desk was the one who informed us the bar was closed. He was brusk at best. Fondue is the specialty So we ordered the house special Fondue as directed by the waiter. He said the house special is the one that is made fresh and the other two choices for fondue are pre-made. Like from a bag. Odd. The fondue was wonderful. Although the special had bratwurst as well as bread and apple for dipping. The Bratwurst was cold, so we had to throw it in the fondue so that it warmed up. Again the Fondue was tasty. We also ordered a savory mushroom torte. -and it was not good. A bit soggy and lifeless. The item we placed the most hope in was the wiener schnitzel, another house specialty. It was not hot and was sort of soggy, like it needed to cook for another minute or two. The surreal part was the feel and mood in the restaurant and the staff. We sensed some kind of underlying tension in the staff. The chef was friendly and was walking around, almost lurking. Anyway, it feels like all is not well at this restaurant. Despite being a Saturday. It was dead by the time we left. Lastly. They ran out of the apple Strudel. A bummer. And strange since it was not a very busy night. We got chocolate cake instead and it was Amazing. Truly tasty. What a weird place. It was kind of a mix between a bad movie and a time warp.

The host at the Alpenhof was just awful. Intentionally unhelpful and rude. Definitely not making the Alpenhof a memorable night out that you’d return to every time you stay in Jackson Hole. Waitstaff tried to make up for it, but they were obviously understaffed. Food was good and a great value.

This was our annual pilgrimage to the Alpenrose. We've been coming here for 30 years and things are not what they used to be. The food was good but not exceptional as was the service. The ambience is what we come for and it is a faded glory. It is still one of the quietest restaurants in the area. There are few where you don't have to shout across the table to indulge in dinner conversation. While it still has a Swiss ambience it is getting shabby. The menu has been simplified and they now focus on fondue, raclette and croque fondue. I had the latter, and it was quite hearty and authentic. The chocolate fondue for desert is also very good. This is the only place in Teton Village you can get a Gluhwein and it was very good. The Alpenhof is currently for sale. I hope new owners will refurbish it to its past glory.

We made the reservation based on the dinner menu shown on their website. When we arrived, we found that they had a very limited lunch menu (not mentioned on website). We asked to order off the dinner menu we had seen and were told that that menu was several years old and was no longer available. Bait and switch! We were very disappointed. We had driven out to Teton Village specifically to eat there. We hate to write such a negative review because the restaurant looks like they are struggling, but people need to know what to expect.

We showed up 15 minutes early, after driving 30 minutes to get there. With no explanation, an extremely combative and rude employee said they closed the restaurant an hour early (at 3 pm?). He could not have been more rude or embarrassing, it was a shockingly bad experience and we were left with nowhere to go and a rude employee mocking us. I also noticed they said they sat us according to open table, which never happened. The place is awful
