The Alley at The Betsy
Inspired by timeless Italian techniques, Chef Laurent Tourondel spent over a year perfecting his signature pizza dough, hand-stretched to order by our artisan pizzaiolos, topped with ingredients that would make Nonna proud, then baked to perfection in our earthstone oven. Insider’s Tip: try the whipped ricotta and finish off your meal with a frozen orange gelato.
Retro photos and neon artwork highlight the cozy dining room and open kitchen, while bistro lights illuminate our outdoor tables lining the bustling pathway between Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue.
The Alley is also available for small groups and private dining.
OMG DELICIOUS!! Our waiter was fantastic, he made excellent recommendations and the service was fast!!!
Hands down my favorite place on the beach for a good quality casual Italian dinner. Haven't had a single thing on the menu I've disliked. Alfredo is sweet, attentive, and makes you feel like family when you're there. I look forward to seeing him every time I go!
Absolutely delicious food, the service very friendly.
Definitely recommend 👍
Terrific Italian place with incredible pizza, pasta, gelato and an authentic Italian feel. Great spot for a casual night out.
Expensive for everyday food.
Authentic amazing food from chef Alfredo! Would go back everytime we are in Miami!
The wait person was great but totally overwhelmed. He needed help. The food was too heavy for my tastes but my friends liked their pasta.
Found this place searching the internet. Everyone gave it good reviews and the pics looked great so we tried it. Small place with some tables outside but done very nicely with a good vibe. Our waiter, Alfredo was amazing. Great advice and service throughout. That was second to the food which was better than in the reviews. We had the focaccia bread (Alfredo suggested) and it was the best I have ever eaten. As an appetizer we had the calamari which was very good and the Zucchine e Rucola was my wifes favorite. She said she would go back just for that. We had the Pipe Rigate which was excellent and the San Marzano pizza, which I could eat any time. Rates as one of the best I have eaten, anywhere. This is one of those hidden places that you need to go to and try for yourself. You will not be disappointed. We loved it.
We had fantastic food and an amazing server - Alfredo - who took such good care of us and was a lot of fun! Great location near the beach, lively neighborhood, good music. We highly recommend The Alley (and ask for Alfredo).
Alfredo was wonderful and the meal was delicious. I got to experience different Italian flavors with new favorite beers. The Alley is a true hidden gem. Happy to have eaten there.
We enjoy quality pizza and the pizza here was absolutely fantastic. Thin crust, crispy/chewy edges, meaty/crispy pepperoni etc etc. I reckon the best pizza in South Beach.
The food was amazing!! The service was the best I’ve received in Miami.. I can’t wait to go again..
Enjoyed amazing burrata salad & pizza for dinner, cannot wait to go back to the Alley
Meatballs amazing. Pizzas all amazing. Fennel pizza. Fried calamari. Seafood pasta delicious.
Great small restaurant feeling, good to get away from south beach traffic of tourist.
Great service. Delicious food. Waiter brought pizza dough for our daughter to play with!
Fit for foodies!
Overall service and food was good. The pizza made in a stone oven, we had mushroom pizza, white 4 cheesee and the butcher, all really good also the veal homemade pasta dish. I have to say that the highlight of the night was the chocolate/pistachio gelato and passion fruit sorbet.
Best food and service in a long time on Miami Beach. Highly recommend. Pizza was amazing.
Great service and delicious food. Alfredo was very helpful and provided excellent service.
It was just...okay. We were looking for a big spot to accommodate our family (10 ppl). Non-pizza options were lacking. The wait staff was sometimes aloof. They put a bucket of ice (to chill wine) in between my wife and i...bc they dont have a floor stand for it. odd.
Really super service, tasty food and great location. Was just a little quiet and therefore lacked a bit of atmosphere - we did dine quite early for Miami... 830pm - would still recommend a visit.
Do not miss the better-than-in-Rome cacio e pepe. The prices are a great value and everything we ordered really hit the mark. Definitely one of South Beach’s hidden gems!
Order the grilled octopus for something unique and really good
Great food, reminded me of sitting in a restaurant in Florence. Their pizza is delicious.
Great spot for a group of 12. Service was efficient and friendly. Restaurant is situated a cool alley that was decorated with tea lights overhead and in the plants, which gave it a very chic atmosphere. The menu is mostly pizza, but had several pastas and salads as well. Calamari and kale appetizers were my favorite! Would come again.
Great food and amazing service! Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re near by.
Great restaurant. Atmosphere and location is great and the food is delicious.
The most professional server I’ve ever encountered! And the truffle pizza was amazing
One of the better places to get pizza on the beach. Very small spot. Definitely recommend a reservation.
We had a wonderful time at The Alley! Such a cute relaxed place with great food!
The Alley is a hidden gem with some of the best pizzas and salads in Miami. The wine list is quite nice and the prices are very reasonable. The service is absolutely wonderful; professional and attentive.
The restaurant is clean and modern. Like everything at the Betsy - this is a beacon of light on Ocean Drive.
Chicken Al’Mattone is the best item on the dish! Also love their homemade pastas.
We waited 25 minutes and didn’t even receive waters. The food looked good but ultimately we decided we were not going to be waited on and left.
waited 15 minutes for our table but when we complained our server gave us a complementary glass of prosecco.
Food was incredible!!! And service was excellent
Great pizza, salads and cocktails. Fun and lively setting.
Lovely evening at a lovely restaurant. We felt like we were in Rome!
The Alley at the Betsy was great! It's located behind the restaurant. Our server, Joanny, was super nice and attentive. We had the Arugula and Arthur Avenue salads which were great and the pizza was delicious. I like how they leave olive oil on the table. I would definitely go back!
Because of rain, many outdoor diners had to be relocated inside which caused a delay in our reservation time. However, the staff checked on us (kindly offered us drinks) and after ten minutes a table was extended to us. Cocktail menu is unique and fun. This establishment is noted for their popovers...well folks, they continue to please. The steak and snapper meals were cooked to our delight. The wilted spinach is tasty and the gratin potatoes should get good marks. The restaurant was adourned with a monthly theme of pictures, this month was Muhammed Ali. The prices are not for the weak. The staff is attentive. I would recommend The Betsy for a date night, special occasion or if you won the trifecta at the Florida Derby.
Our family enjoyed appetizers and pizza here while on spring break. Great location. We make a point to try the calamari at every restaurant that offers it, and this place had THE BEST sauce we've had. The calamari itself was fantastic as well. They put fried zucchini slices in with it as well as some marinated fresh peppers sprinkled in. Very tasty. The pizzas were good, not out of this world, but they had some creative combinations. The kale salad was very flavorful and generous. Would definitely return sometime!
