Excellent food and service at the Ale House. They've also increased parking, which makes it a lot easier to visit!
Great meal and experience.
Nije Loše....dobra hrana.
Frequently visit and alway great. Creator/Destroyer is the best beer!
We liked the fried Oreo dessert.
Great food, friendly service.....love being there.
The Ale House always has a great selection of beers and wine. We love there onion soup, it the best we have ever had. The staff is friendly and attentive!
Came with our family (kids age 5 and 8)
Food came quickly but wasn’t rushed and we all enjoyed the meal
Went here to celebrate getaway day for my college-age son. Food was very good, and not exceptionally crowed for Easter Brunch. Our server was slightly lethargic, but the experience was good nevertheless.
This is the second time we’ve been here where they’ve been out of every white wine we asked for.
Server pleasant but not knowledgeable about selections. Stick to beers for drinks. Manhattan not really a Manhattan. Smoked Gin & Tonic was not very enjoyable. Thai shrimp appetizer was tasty. Spinach artichoke dip was ok. Crab cake had shell fragments. Fish Tacos cod texture seemed underdone.
Great food and service. Although the kitchen made a mistake with my order, our server handled it very well. She apologized, took it back and I had my correct order very quickly. Everybody makes a mistake occasionally. It's how you handle them that shows character and she did so very professonally.
Excellent experience
We love the restaurant. Special commendation to our server, Michaela. She is a real asset to the restaurant. Also appreciated the efforts of Sharie, who worked hard to fix a little problem we had. (Sharie, the stains all came out and the pant are fine!)
You are paying for the atmosphere and service, not necessarily the food. We went for brunch, probably won't go for that again. This wasn't our first visit, it's always good, but not amazing. The drinks are great and the service is exceptional! It was super busy and our server was friendly, smiling and seemed happy to be there! That alone makes it worth the cost of the average food.
Beer was outstanding, as always. Brunch was a little disappointing. The breakfast hash was paltry and came with the same potatoes that were in the hash, on the side. The fruit on the side was a medicine cup of just some strawberries that had seen better days and lacked flavor. I asked for the sauce on the side, and it was just omitted--unless the decorative chili oil on the egg was meant to be the sauce. Other people in our party seemed to have more normal sized portions and were satisfied with their orders (they made other selections).
Excellent service; food was better than standard for a non-white tablecloth restaurant. It was noisy, but that's to be expected on Saturday night. All in all, a very satisfactory experience.
Good food - was expecting typical bar food for an Ale house but this was well above that in quality. Looking forward to returning.
Overall it’s a great place with great service. I would recommend the Ale House to anyone who like good food and great ambience.
Always one of our favorites. Easy to get to and a diverse menu with things for everyone. I love the grilled wings - "healthier" vs. fried wings but still super tasty. We tried the fried Brussels sprouts appetizer - so delicious but "healthy" veg! We have never been disappointed in anything we've ordered. Our server was very busy and probably stretched a bit thin but she tried. Service has probably been the only thing that has been uneven, sometimes wonderful and other times not so much. But the food and beer selection (my husband is English and he loves the selection) always brings us back. A reservation is definitely recommended - this is one busy place!
I ordered the steak frites and they brought me a cold old steak. I sent it back immediately. They tried to microwave it (which then overcooked it and is just generally disgusting). I tried to send it back again. The manager tried to say it wasn't the same steak, which it obviously was-- it was even the same size/position on the plate. They finally brought me a new steak, slightly overcooked, after my whole family was almost done with their meals. They didn't even adjust the bill.
We come here often because it is convenient but this sure was not a good experience. The other food we ordered was good and I love their nachos. The wine was just okay but I don't expect a lot from a place called "Ale House."
Great food and our waitress provided excellent, friendly service. Will be back!
I really enjoy the food and environment, even though I think the restaurant itself is a bit overpriced.
We made a reservation on open table before we left the house and we’re immediately seated ahead of all the other people waiting. We were sat in a nice booth with THE nicest waitress, Caitlin. She was so friendly and accommodating to our special requests. We split the chopped salad and it was DELICIOUS. We had a very wonderful experience and even went back for drinks the next night.
We like it here. Will be going for our third visit soon
The quality of the food was good, and the service matched. Have eaten here before and will again. However, I wish there was more vegetarian options.
I picked Alehouse based on its 4-1/2 star rating. In the future I think I'll rely more on my intuition than star ratings. The food was mediocre at best. Crab/Potato chip appetizer was almost cold. Fish tacos were bland. Fries with the steak frites were good but the steak, though tender, was tasteless.
Casual atmosphere. Love the food.
Hostess was very warm and polite. Set the stage for an enjoyable evening Waitress and servers were efficient and polite
We ordered from the brunch menu and were very happy with our dishes. Our waitress was very attentive.
Ask for David. He meets your needs.
Happy place and great beer and burgers
The sampler beers and cocktails are always good. The happy hour deals are pretty good and the food has always been very tasty. Lover their creme brulee!
Great Valentine’s Day menu options, great fast service. Delicious food.
We usually go to the Ale House on week days. Saturday was not as pleasant as our normal visits to this restaurant. Despite our reservation, we had to wait over 20 minutes for our table. When we were finally seated, we noticed a lot of empty booths. The restaurant had a lot of screaming kids which we have not encountered on previous visits. The service was okay although the waiter brought our check without asking if we wanted dessert.
We dine here frequently and it is always enjoyable. The food is excellent, the service is lovely, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Making a reservation for Friday night dinner is essential!
We had a beer at the bar and then was seated for our meal. Enjoyed a fantastic salad and had great service provided by Chelsea. Will definitely return and highly recommend!
This place has really good food. Classy sports bar, which is a cool concept.
Alehouse Columbia is one of our favorite places to eat. Food, beverages, and service are consistently great. We love that the menu has so many different things to choose from.
Service and food were very good. Prices are reasonable.
Servers forgot we were there. A manager stopped by to say there was confusion or miscommunication between the servers. We still had to wait to get out drinks and order. Once the server arrived no specials or soup of the day were offered. Which doesn’t matter bc we already had about 25 mins to look at the menu. We were able to hear the special of the day when the server spoke with the couple behind us. The server did get my very picky order correctly which I appreciate it. It almost felt like making a reservation was the worst idea for this restaurants. I’m sure the bad service was an isolated incident and does not change our view of The Alehouse Columbia but when date nights are far and few between we hope for what is normally expected out of a restaurant.
