The Alehouse Columbia
The covid-19 social distancing protocols are 'mostly' followed - I felt comfortable here as opposed to other establishments. It is difficult for servers to remain socially distant in an area where they have 8 tables.
Outstanding! From the moment we walked in the door, to the table service the experience was superb!
I really enjoyed the food here and our server was very nice and welcoming.
Good stuff
Great place to watch football
We were seated at our table and waited 10 minutes before our waitress even acknowledged that we were sitting at one of her tables. She zoomed past us and said "I'll be with you shortly." We watched her walk past our table several more times without her stopping. After 15 minutes, we got up and began to walk away from our table since our waitress never came back to take our drink order or even offer us water. As we walked away she walked by and said "I was eventually coming back to your table." We left the restaurant and went to a nearby one and had a much better experience.
Our waitress was nice and gave great recommendations for food since the menu is so large. We were not happy with one of our dishes and the manager came over to apologize and it was taken off the bill. Huge servings, better to share, food was hot and delicious.
I went here to meet up with friends for drinks and food. We felt safe and was comfortably able to social distance. Food and drinks were good and the service was great.
The staff here is amazing! Love their outdoor seating!
We went for weekday lunch - mom, daughter, grandmother - and sat outside since the weather was nice. Unfortunately the umbrellas at the tables had been put away for the season so it was very sunny and a little hard on the eyes. Food and service were very good and the experience was as expected. Our waitress (Brittney) was terrific.
This is a wonderful spot with great service, great prices and great food
Different criteria- eating outside, probably staff shortage. Food selection is great and tasty.
Service was great and so was the food! I will definitely be back!
Great as always. Due to COVID-19, I am only comfortable eating outside, so I made a dinner reservation online requesting an outdoor table. We were seated right away, and our server was very friendly and helpful. It was Taco Tuesday, so I got the $5 spicy marg, and she even asked them to leave out the fresh jalapeno garnish after I told her I was a little nervous about the spice level. I had the Roasted Pear Salad which I always enjoy, and since I am a vegetarian I ask them to leave the chicken off. She actually deducted $2 from our check to "make up for" the lack of chicken on my salad, which I thought was really thoughtful even though I would not have asked for that! I have really enjoyed going to Alehouse Columbia during the pandemic due to their outdoor area seating and their great customer service--not to mention the great food and drink selection, including Oliver Brewing beers. Highly recommend.
Wonderful! Love that there’s an outdoor dining option.
The Ale House is just not what it used to be. The chicken for the Korean chicken sandwich is two pieces stacked on a pretzel bun making the sandwich difficult to eat. The chicken was over cooked and close to being burnt. We also had Fish and Chips. The fish was also over cooked. Service was very slow. The server was friendly, just not quick. We have been twice since the reopening and both visits were about the same. The first time we chalked it up to being the first few days after reopening. Now I don't think that was it. Not sure we will be back anytime soon.
Long wait for outdoor seating (I forget to say on the reservation) so we ate at the bar.
Veggie Gyro was tasty.
We make this our go-to place for a dinner and drinks when in the area. Great value and service and the beer selection is fantastic.
Food was good, but the service was poor. In addition, there were dogs allowed on the deck. They were barking and some roaming around on long leashes. Very disrespectful to patrons without dogs, and don't go to restaurants to eat with pets!
We got off to a rocky start when the hostess told us she was going to seat us inside since we hadn’t specified a preference. I explained I tried to find a way to do that but couldn’t see one on the site. Further, I explained that to assume anyone would want an inside table in this day and age (coronavirus) is inappropriate. We had to a bit to get our outside table but once we were seated we were pleased. Our server was attentive other than not providing flatware for us (we had to ask). My husband received his food before I got mine. I was concerned his omelette would be cold by the time I got my flatbread. However, since we didn’t have flatware, he wasn’t able to eat even if he wanted to do so. Our server was very good about keeping my bottomless mimosa filled.
I enjoyed my meal. The tex mex egg rolls were delicious and the gumbo was savory.
The food is always great and the outdoor dining tent made me feel really safe.
This was my fourth time at the Ale House, and i typically always have a great experience. BUT this time my waiter was HORRIBLE. He had a straight up attitude the entire time. It started raining and he was nowhere to be found. So i took it upon myself to move my table. I move my table to underneath the canopy and i ask "can we sit here?" This man really says "you need to go and ask the host..." He couldn't go and ask for me, considering that it was raining for 10 minutes and he never offered an umbrella or a new table. Second, i got unlimited mimosas, i asked for the flavors and he got an attitude. Lastly, he gave me my check when i was only on my third mimosas, aka he wanted us to leave. Overall, the service was horrible, he was not friendly, and it was clear he did not want to be at work. For a Sunday brunch, there was no music on outside but i can say the food was great as always.
I selected The Ale House because of the location, the outside eating area and the menu. We joined a friend and enjoyed our first restaurant experience in six months! They had a great selection of salads and sandwiches; I loved my Roasted Pear salad.
Service was horrible arrived at 6pm asked for a Manager at 6:45pm because we still haven’t received our 1st beer. Waitress said it was because of new computer system. Every beer took at least 30 minutes to receive after ordering. If you have hours to waste to get 2 beers then this is the place for you.
Food was tasty and hot. Service was prompt and friendly. What else could you want!
Great food, drinks and service. I will definitely go again
Awesome as usual!!! Great food, fabulous drinks, amazing staff, and very clean!
Great outdoor dining and well spaced tables. Food was delicious. A safe and enjoyable dining experience!
We were seated outdoors..
but surprisingly there was a loud group that made normal conversations difficult.
Our server was distracted and did not check back..We needed so find someone to find her.
Food and beer were fine.
Chicken wings were undercooked and chewy
Chorizo Burger was like sawdust
Tater tots were undercooked
Brussel sprouts appetizer were good
Chili Con Queso was a canned or frozen
We went at 11:00 am
Excellent atmosphere for brunch with the girls!
The food and beer are still awesome, even though the ambience of sitting at the bar is not back yet.
Patio dining was great; we originally worried it would be too hot under the tent but it was very comfortable. Our waitress was very attentive and kept the drinks flowing. We couldn't have had better service.
Everything was good-very slow service.
We had an excellent experience at the Ale House, as always. The beer was great, even though no cask options at this point. (Cask Ales is the reason we ever went to the Ale House in the first place!) The service was excellent, particularly from our regular server Marissa! The prices are a tad high, but the food is extremely well done and the beer options always wonderful!
The food and service was great! Even with Covid, the place was set up to accommodate safety and social distancing.
Table had bad odor, have to wait too long, even for a beer (came w my dinner).
Server and staff was great. Drinks were good. Those dry tacos ... never again.
