The food and service were excellent! Probably the tastiest branzino I have had in years! The glazed carrots were excellent and the salad was a unique blend of greens - very refreshing. Great spot if you have a show at Radio City.

We waited in line at the hostess stand for 15 minutes, until the guy at the front of the line went to the attached hotel and snagged somebody to step in. When we were finally seated, we had to wait for our waiter to spend another 10 minutes explaining the difference between a shrub and a shandy to the couple seated 12 inches away. When he finally approached us, his first words were "Well, everybody came in at once, what can I say, hope you don't have theater tickets" (we did). We ordered cocktails, entrees because we were afraid to order more than 1 course for the timing, and one side dish. The entrees came out quickly and were hot and delicious--like really good--but the side dish never arrived, and nobody came to check on us until we had finished our meal--at which point they delivered the cocktails and offered to bring the sauteed spinach. To be fair, we were not charged for the missing side dish or the cocktails. So, I'd say that our dinner last night was adequate but not enjoyable.

Parker rolls were hot and delicious. Wait staff was courteous and knowledgeable. Food was served piping hit. Glazed carrots were delicious.

It was fine. Not delicious but fine. Waiters were nice but kept forgetting things. Walked through a cloud of cigarette smoke from guys selling knockoff headphones in front of the main door. So, it was fine, but we won’t be back.

I thought it was expensive for what we got, compared to other places we’ve eaten in Manhattan. The waiter asked us if we wanted bread for the table, and then brought it and charged us for it, without letting us know that there was a fee. My side dishes were polenta and wax beans, which were not very good. My partner ordered a side of mushrooms which were strange and stringy. I am a big fan of interesting cocktails but the cocktail I ordered, called a rhubarb bramble, did not taste either of the rhubarb or the bourbon that purported to be there. Not very impressed. It wasn’t terrible, just mediocre.

I had never heard of the Alderman before. I was doing a search for restaurants near the theater I was going to and found them. What a very nice surprise. Had their Brunch and very much enjoyed it. Their staff were very pleasant and now that I have found it I will be returning.

It's in the heart of the Broadway Theatre District so it's an easy walk to the show. The food was good, service was a little slow, but we made it to the matinee. Very reverberant room so conversation will be a little challenging if you have impaired hearing. Overall, I would go again.

Our dinner at the Alderman was by far one of the best meals! We were going to an event at radio City so we ordered the pre theater package. It included two apps, (parker rolls with garlic butter and olive oil, and pickled vegetables which were over a delicious bean dip) a delicious huge salad and choice of 4 entrees and dessert. The portions were plentiful, the cocktails delicious, service was wonderful. The ambiance was nice- it wasn't loud. We can't wait to go again when we have an event the area!
