In the past 4 years we went to have dinner at Alcove few times per year, and all the time the food is prepared very well but for some reason it arrives at the table cold, excellent recipes but served cold! Yesterday, we had also a poor service, a drink forgot and requested twice, bread not served and requested during the main course . And last point , in the restaurant the temperature is so low that you can freeze .

We drove almost an hour to go to The Alcove for our anniversary after discovering it from an office holiday dinner. We came for the ambiance and special cocktails and stayed for the delicious food and excellent service, and the comfy booth. We will be back for dinner theater upstairs for sure, and other meals.

There are choices throughout Knox County and beyond. However, enjoying The Alcove is always special. The bar selection is first rate. The servers are first rate. The menu is first rate with seasonal changes to look forward to. What is remarkable is the changes are always presenting that ‘WOW’ factor every time! Just a wonderful dining experience every time!

When there is a special dinner our first thought is let go to The Alcove. The ambiance is unique for Mount Vernon, service is excellent and the food is always great. When I walked into the restaurant was packed and had the high energy vibe, I was thinking this was going to be slow night. I was way wrong, drinks and wine were timely and the everything couldn't have been any smoother. We also recently used them for catering at our house and they delivered a delicious menu of food which made the HS reunion gathering wonderful.

Everything from service to ambiance and food was excellent. Our server (Allison) was awesome. My wife had an 8oz Sirloin cooked to perfection. I ordered the 10oz Dry Rub sirloin. I wasn't crazy about the herbs, but that was no fault of the chef. It was cooked to perfection, as well. Everyone was more than gracious and accommodating. Definitely would return if in the area. Only caution? It is a bit pricey.

We arrived 10 minutes early of our reservation but were seated after a short wait. I ordered a ribeye and I must say it was one of the best I have had. Well seasoned and cooked exactly. Our server, Vanessa, did a great job. She checked on us throughout our meal but not over the top.

The food was delicious and the staff are very friendly. This is a short drive from northern Columbus suburbs and worth the trip because the food is amazing. The prices at the Alcove are 2/3 of Columbus prices and it is higher quality food than many high-end Columbus eateries. The cocktail choices are superb and pours are generous. The raw oysters were delicious and both entrees (scallops and halibut) were fantastic. The chef’s cake was an olive oil and orange cake - a bit dry but flavor was superb. I have been there twice and will go again. The interior is beautiful- very French with stunning blues. Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants.

New waitress and she was amazing. Appetizer and dessert was good. Dinner was not,expected way more for the amount of money spent. Bar was loud. No need for the reservation but made one and still had to wait to be seated at a tiny table in the corner... plenty of other tables and booth open.

The food was just ok. I expected the food to be outstanding for the price I paid. Our waitress wasn't on her A Game she only check in on us a few times unlike the waiter that served tables across from us was on his A Game. We have been trying to find a new place to go to on our Wedding Anniversary we thought maybe this would be the place but no. Probably won't be back. Sorry

I have eaten at the Alcove many times over the years and always satisfied. This trip however was different. Our party of 6 was given a great private room and wonderful treatment. My 18 year old grandson and his girlfriend were part of the evening. He asked for my recommendation on what to get. I suggested the 30 day dry aged strip medium rare. It came out medium and very tough overall. We both got this steak and both were the same. I have eaten steak all over the world and this was not very good at all. He ended up taking most of his home. He didn’t want to send it back. The rest of the meal was fine. Others at the table tried the steak and their reaction was the same. I will go back but will not hesitate to send a poor steak back such as this.

This place is absolutely amazing! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 29th anniversary dinner! I had the Oscar Salmon and Lobster tail, my husband had the Pork Chop and Fire Cracker Shrimp…All cooked to perfection! The Decor almost made me feel like I was in a Ritzy New York restaurant set in the 1920’s, which was the icing on the cake. Speaking of cake, for dessert we had the Chefs Cake, which was Double Fudge cake that would feed 2 people and the Cheesecake…both were scrumptious! We ate like Royalty and we’re treated like Royalty! Thank you so much for making our celebration so special! (BIG KUDOS to our waiter, JORDAN, he was fantastic!) We will be back! Karen, you’ve outdone yourself…CHEERS!!!

We dined here for the second time in a week, using a gift card. The gentleman who waited on us was polite, personable, and, most of all, efficient. He was genuinely pleasant without being phony or overly friendly. Three times in a row now I have gotten the double pork chops - 16 ounces - and at $32 with salad and a side. Their rolls are to die four, and you get four of them for two people. Two excellent experiences in a row.
