Founded in 1911 as a small ice cream and candy shop in the heart of Downtown Mount Vernon, The Alcove offers the finest dining experience in Central Ohio. Our diverse menu includes steak and seafood favorites as well as our signature Prime Rib of Beef available Thursday, Friday & Saturday evenings.     We had a lovely time at the Alcove with our family. Our waitress was perfect and could not have been more attentive to our needs. Unfortunately we left our doggy bag with a whole steak dinner at the table and when I called 10 minutes after leaving to say we were coming back for it the person on the phone said it was already thrown away. I was more than disappointed by this and bothered by the staff on the phones lack of care regarding it.

    This was our first visit to The Alcove. Couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. Everything about our visit was outstanding. Looking forward to returning.

    We had a wonderful dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Table was out of the way in a quiet atmosphere. Food was delicious and the service was top notch. The manager was open to our suggestions regarding wine selection as most were slightly sweeter than we prefer. We will DEFINITELY return!

    A very nice dinner experience. Meal was a little on the expensive side, but ended up being totally worth it. Great meal from beginning to end.

    Excellent food. The chicken cordon blue, beef wellington, stuffed red pepper and steak burger were very flavorful and beautiful plates. Ample servings. The crab dip was outstanding. The staff was attentive, kind, and prompt. Fantastic chocolate torte for dessert. The menu was varied and appropriate for all ages and dietary needs.
