Such a beautiful, peaceful place with excellent food and service. Don't really come for people watching, but it's truly a gem.

The food was exquisitely prepared, beautifully composed, very flavorful. No complaints about that -- but the portion sizes, are you kdding me? I am not looking for a "hearty meal", but really, also not to go home still hungry. The servers were frankly out of practice. I hope they warm up to their jobs as routine reasserts itself.

We ate on the patio due to Covid restrictions. Attentive waiter and excellent food. The trains came through more often that I anticipated but was only momentarily disruptive. Overall a nice evening.

Food is on point. Went on a date night and thoroughly enjoyed all the courses prepared for us. The outside seating is below the station which adds to the charm but it is not very well maintained (maybe a conscious decision). I am sure it would be very different in normal times when we are able to seat indoors but for now, it is one of the best options around in Evanston for a fine dine.

We are delighted that Chef's Station has reopened as The Alcove. We have always believed that the food at Chef's Station was the finest in Evanston and our dinner at the Alcove was as excellent as expected.

Phenomenal food and service.
Never been disappointed at Chef's Station and the reinventing as The Alcove lives up to their high standards.

Food was delicious as always. I wish the servers could be a little friendlier and smile a little.

Each of us thought that our meal was outstanding... well-prepared... well-presented. However the most important thing is taste and we all thought that our dinners were fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant.
