Einstein once said “To keep your balance you must keep moving.” In this vein the Albert strives to embrace the eclectic and the seasonal. With an eye on aesthetic, our food and our cocktails serve to playfully present the familiar in a distinctly creative fashion - crafted with global influence and Midwestern ingredients.

Amazing food and never disappoints. A hidden gem in Chicago.
While I enjoyed the food, drinks, and overall experience at this restaurant, I just did not find that the overall value justified the price. It might be the case that the Albert is charging very high prices because it is located in a hotel and people who go there partly expense their bills to a company.
Will come back here for drinks only.
Great experience! Nice food presentation and flavor combinations. Friendly staff...
The Albert is a neighborhood restaurant for us and we are so glad. I think it’s one of the best kept secrets in Chicago..the Chef Is creative without being over the top. Drinks are interesting. The menu changes seasonally. This trip we loved the watermelon salad, the heirloom tomatoes, the corn pudding and the halibut. We shared everything and had room for a wonderful dessert with brioche and banana ice cream. I hate to brag about this place because I like to be able to get in without making reservations so far in advance but I want them to do well so they are always an option in the neighborhood.
Atmosphere, cocktails, food and service all lovely:) will return!
The tasting menu was great and the service was terrific. It's a rare restaurant located in a hotel that has such a unique and creative menu.
The night started out with a lovely art show and the chef made everyone some awesome horse oeuvres, served with a nice sparkling cava. No charge. Then we enjoyed a terrific meal including the best octopus I’ve ever had. All dishes we ordered were imaginative and delicious. Many served by the chef himself. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and overall great. The decor based on Einstein’s quirkiness was a breath of fresh air. The whole experience was fun and enjoyable.
Celebrated my sister’s birthday at your restaurant last weekend. I flew in from the DC area and she flew in from Colorado. Our meal was everything I hoped it would be and then some. Your wait staff is exceptional and the food: Divine.
This place is off the hook cool. From the venue to the food, we had one of the best meals we've ever eaten. We opted for the chef's tasting menu. The five courses were flavorful, unique, and impressive. Larry, the chef, was personable and humble. Highlights included the fennel ravioli, the pressed lamb, and the desserts. If you have not been here, you need to go. The venue, service, and food is cutting-edge.
An excellent experience
We had a wonderful dining experience at the Albert. The food was incredible. We had a large party, and they sat us in the back in a private area by the kitchen which was fun. Our server made some great recommendations such as the chicken leg and octopus for appetizers. I had the halibut for my main course, and the presentation was wonderful. It was a great dining experience and definitely would recommend.
Great service, menu and food were good but nothing special. Disappointed that the bar didn’t open until 10am and neither did the outside patio (for seating), even though they accepted reservations earlier than that. Menu had drinks on it but when we ordered a mimosa we were told the bar didn’t open until 10am. Peculiar experience I’ve never had at a Chicago restaurant on a Saturday.
Pretty cool atmosphere... contemporary. Server was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They were almost empty though during lunchtime. I hope business picks up for them as I thought it was very good.
We had a spectacular dining experience - the food, knowledge of the preparation, wine pairings were all of the charts!! A real culinary experience for a foodie with plates that were visually stunning and prepared to perfection! A must have stop on a visit or on a night when you want to escape the ordinary!
We sat at a table in the back near the kitchen and had the tasting menu. Everything was absolutely delicious. A true find that completely surpassed all of our expectations.
Pleasant surprise! Exceeded expectation on every level. The food was spectacular; showcasing combination of flavors, ingredients, and presentation. We had the Tasting Menu, which was plentiful and worth every penny. Portions were hardy and very fulfilling.
The service deserves a very special mention. Kelli, our waitress / foodie / sommelier walked us thru every dish and every ingredient. Chef even made a slight menu change to accommodate one of our preferences.
Slight issue with having to wait long time for valet parking in front of the place (maybe worth parking nearby and walking).
Our first time here at the Albert but certainly not our last and we highly recommend.
the interior many were raved about was nothing like they said.
food was pretty good. lobster benedict was good. the muffin was buttery and crispy. and poached egg was done just right. but the braised rib was a little dry and missing flavor.
service was very good. the server and the bartender did their best to give us pleasant time.
Expensive but worth it!! Delicious and unusual! We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the ambience.
The ragout was amazing, house made lemonade, and perfect weather for outside seating made for a perfect lunch!
The décor is absolutely stunning. Our server was a but too personable, always trying to bud into every conversation we were having. I would have looked passed fhag but the food was mediocre at best. It was quite disappointing. I seriously wouldn't waste your money when there's numerous better spots in River North.
Difícil de ubicar no hay ningún señalamiento afuera
Hands down best dining experience I’ve ever had! I proposed to my girlfriend during the chefs tasting menu and the staff could not have been more supportive, everyone came together to make it an unforgettable and magical experience.
Outstanding experience. Have eaten here several times and the menu is always very focused and creative. Wonderful flavors and great service make it a restaurant that we are confident any of our friends that we bring will have an enjoyable experience.
Great food, knowledgeable and friendly server
Ate outside and enjoyed the atmosphere
Great for breakfast and had a table outside. Not on a busy street so noise level low and great to watch people go by
This was our 2nd trip to this restaurant and while it was good, I would not call it excellent. My wife and I had the mushroom appetizer which was the star of the night. I had the fish dinner which was good but that’s all I can say about it. Nothing too spectacular. My wife’s lamb was just mediocre with little flavor. We sat on the patio which was spectacular on such a gorgeous night. We don’t get too many of those in Chicago.
We go to the Albert quite often but this was the first time we ever ordered the tasting menu. Am I glad we did! The breath of the food that Chef prepared was fresh, inventive, artful, delicious and succulent. The service, as always was superlative. If you have never tried the Albert you must do so, it is not, and I repeat not, the typical Hotel restaurant. This is a fine dining experience
We arrived at 5:00 after a matinee show. Quiet, knowledgeable and attentive service. Food was excellent. Lamb and the octopus were super.
I had been looking for a unique place to dine to celebrate a special occasion and came accros the Albert and loved the decor. However, I read a lot of negative reviews about the service and the food before I arrived, so many that I had considered making a different reservation, but I'm glad I went. We sat outside, because it was a beautiful evening and the temperature indoors was rather unbarebly cold, but the patio was delightful. Our server was attentive and informative. The food was surprising - so many uniquely crafted dishes with flavors you wouldn't expect would dance together on your palatte so flawlessly and complementary. Every bite, both texture and taste had you wanting more. We had the zucchini bread appetizer and the fennel ravioli. The drinks were ok, rather light in their potency, closer to juices than cocktails. When we were done, they brought us a scoop of ice cream to help us celebrate, on the house. Overall, a good experience.
Nice spot! All staff that hit our table were friendly and knowledgeable. Food and drinks were delish.
Great food, fantastic service and perfect ambiance
Wow. The tasting menu - so perfect in every way. Beautiful, flavor balanced, exquisite. Amazing restaurant.
The food was so good! Portions are small (as in enough food for one), so I wouldn’t say things are shareable (but can be!). The presentation was excellent. We sat outside and the patio was great. It’s a shaded area, so it doesn’t get too hot in the summer months. We had the ceviche, octopus, roasted chicken, halibut, lobster, lamb, bread, and stone bass...everything was nothing less than amazing and delicious!
Went there for a late breakfast on a Tuesday. Quiet and refined. Food was very good. Nice to have an elegant place for breakfast that serves it until 11:00 am on a weekday. Good coffee as well. Will be back.
Poor Brunch the menu was really limited
Just 1 person working attending bar and table same time
A creative, inviting and well-executed menu, in a nice space that echoes the Einstein-ish feel of the hotel lobby. The check-in station is so close to the hotel entrance that we thought we had mistakenly gone to the coffee shop (and it’s an unduly long trek through bare concrete to the rest rooms). But the food is the star and we’ll be back.
Great meal after Hamilton matinee. The staff was great and the food was unique, tasty, and each plate was just enough. Can't wait to go back and see what's new.
Get the lobster pasta. So artfully presented and luscious. We will be back.
Lound music on Thursdays which prevented conversation. Having said that; the food was 5 Star as was the service. Will come back just not on a Thursday.
Very modern and trendy plating. Thoroughly surprised by the chefs tasting menu. Way more food than expecting and great service. Portions were a great size to get more than just a taste of all the meals. See more details on Instagram (@mi.nuh.mawga)
