The 24k chicken is totally overrated. I’m really disappointed :(
The Mac & cheese fries is really good though!
The menu was limited , our waitress told us they would be closing for a month. They'd downsized the menu in anticipation of closing doors. Seemed like a nice place. Would like to go when they re-open and see the real menu
Al of the food was AMAZING! I was thoroughly impressed. I visit NY 5-8 times per year to see my best friend & we specifically came for the FoodGod Gold wings! Worth every penny! We ended up ordering 3 additional entrees (yes just for us 2) because so many items sounded good. Let me tell you, nothing on the menu disappointed at all! I will be visiting this spot every time I’m in NYC from now on!
This place advertises brunch both online and outside the restaurant, however when we got there we found out they do not serve brunch on any day.
They were transitioning... so limited in offerings as far as alcohol. Food was great...
It was too dark... music too loud...
no dessert... because kitchen was limited
Limited menu bc they are closing in 2 weeks, took an hour to get food for 2 People, was told kitchen was behind, sat by the front door with no air condition
My son and I met up for a dinner while I was visiting NYC. The Ainsworth was somewhere he wanted to try for the first time. We were seated right away (Open Table res) in the main area. Nice atmosphere and sports on the screens. Our waitress was a little slow greeting us but we were just catching up and talking. We ordered simple food steak and a salad, which took a long time to come out, my suspicion is that she didn't enter it right away as the place wasn't that busy. I don't think this is normal as the place seemed generally like a nice place, but on this specific occasion - I would not have rated the service very well. I did leave a normal tip (20%) as I didn't want to insult her or the people she has to split tips with.
The service was terrible. It took a very long time for our order to be taken and a long time to get our food afterwards. Only one waitress was working but the restaurant was not full at all and we still had bad service. We even had to wait a long time for our check to be given and taken.
It was a real nice experience the only thing is that the Mac and cheese burger is a bit dry it doesn’t taste cheesy and gold wings were alright it just had a dull taste to it and the waitress they same unhappy after I gave them at 15$ Tip when I only had 3 people dinning there with me but besides that my experience wasn’t as bad.
Went especially to try the 24karat chicken wings. Was not dissatisfied, delicious and well seasoned.
My niece thoroughly enjoyed her Mac and cheese burger!
Second time visiting. Would def return!
A friend wanted me to try the gold dipped wings because she knew I was a wing fanatic! The gold dipped wings were ok!
Eh eh eh eh eh eh eh
Love the 24k chicken wings
Burgers and salad were devoured. Mac & cheese fries were delicious. You can’t go wrong with choosing here.
Was in New York for vacation. This place was right across the street from our hotel. Great vibe, able to make reservations online on open table and the food was great! Had guacamole and chips for an app and then classic burgers with fries. Burger cooked to perfection and the overall presentation was awesome! My waitress was great and the service was spectacular. I would come here again and highly recommend this spot. Great, chill place to eat.
It’s spacious and the staff were very friendly, food was amazing definitely will go back
Had a reservation for lunch, but we waited 30 minutes for our order to be taken and another 30 for our food. There was only one server, and apparently only one cook. Food was tasty, but cold when it got to us.
Way too loud. Horrible club music
It was a business lunch. Location was convenient. Went in mid afternoon so it was empty, which was fine. Big fan of their group.
Out of three of the beers we ordered. Turkey burger um not so good. Wouldn’t go back
Food was good but not great for the prices. We were there for lunch and it wasn’t crowded but it took 40 minutes from ordering for our food to arrive. In that time the waitress did not check back once and most of the wait staff stood at the sides with bar staff talking to each other. I don’t think I’ll be back.
We had an awesome time at the Ainsworth Chelsea. Our server (I think her name was Stephanie) was great and everything was hassle-free. We have been there before and would definitely go back again and again! I would go back even more if this location showed UFC fights.
The menu was pretty standard and seemed like it would be a middle of the road choice for a birthday lunch, however, it was really poor. For a Sunday brunch it was very quiet but our service was still very slow. By the time our food came out it was all cold or lukewarm. The waitress was friendly enough but she would disappear for a while and we were left looking for her to grab condiments/the check/etc. Really disappointing experience overall, wouldn't recommend and wouldn't go back.
The place was closed for a private party but still let us make reservations through open table. Not cool
I really like the Ainsworth because the hospitality has always been top notch. The waiters I've encountered so far have been super friendly, helpful and courteous. The DJs play amazing music all night and is a great place to go, not just after work but at night as well for a good bite and some great time with friends. The food menu is really good as well, from their pressed chicken to their steaks, as well as their mac n cheese burger. They all taste pretty good, and they have an extensive drink list as well. The layout of the space is great because if you are there for dinner, you are a bit segmented from those who are there to just hang out at the bar. The noise gets a bit high, but the space is more of a clubstaurant, so you can't really expect quietness from such an establishment. It is great for sports games because they have an extensive list of games on at one time, across about 20 to 30 different screens.
Met with friends on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. But once we were seated, waitress told us that the brunch menu was unavailable, only lunch. Fine.
We waited for over 20 minutes for orders to be taken. 3 of us ordered drinks, 2 teas and one beer - the beer took more than 10 minutes to be dropped off even though the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Once our food orders were placed, we waited almost 35 minutes until all of our food arrived (just burgers). Luckily none of us were in a rush to go somewhere after lunch, because otherwise we would definitely had been late or would've left early and still hungry. I ordered their famous mac & cheese burger, medium-rare - it arrived well and dry.
i do not recommend going to the Ainsworth for food as it's overpriced and had a terrible service experience. I might consider going just to watch some games as they do have multiple large screens/projectors. But never again for a regular meal.
This was not a good experience. It took quite a while to get our food and one of the orders was wrong and had to be replaced. Some of my group did not like their food at all - the artichokes were particularly greasy. The brick chicken was fine.
The service was INCREDIBLY slow. We waited an hour for our food, and the place was nearly empty. The waitress cam back 30 minutes after we had ordered to let us know that they were out of one of our selections.
Great food, friendly staff , easy on the wallet.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The food and service were both great, but it was a regular dinner hour and the music was way too loud.
Made a reservation for 6 and was given a table for 2 and a ledge with one chair. No call or anything to let me know that this would happen.
It took 90 minutes for the food to come out and food was over cooked. Restaurant appeared short staffed at 8pm on a Saturday night - many tables were waiting a long time for food.
I booked a table to 7:30pm to watch a Knicks match. However, the recepcionist put us in a table far from TVs. I gently asked her to move us to another spot, but she was intransigent despite the 3-4 tables available around. Finally, we decided to go back home to have a better view of the game.
I'll not return to This place in NYC.
Plain awful. Ran out of main courses from menu at 7pm.
The Mac and cheese burger and the French onion burger were great. The prices are as expected for NYC. It’s quite loud, so I wouldn’t recommend this be a place for a first date, but it’s a cool place.
I like the Ainsworth, but this most recent trip was awful. It was supposed to by 1/2 price Steak night for Monday Night Football and we sat down at 7.45pm, 45 mins before Kick off and they had already run out of steaks! Very disappointing and was no apology or offer to honor the 1/2 price on our second choice, non-steak options..
The service is awful. I mean, AWFUL. We waited 30 minutes for a drink. This was after we were told twice that they were out of what we ordered. We literally sat there and watched the waitresses stand at the end of the bar talking and laughing and literally doing nothing. The only reason I give this place two stars is because the artichoke appetizer was awesome. Even the burger wasn’t that great. Will never ever go back again. Ever.
