We ended up leaving after receiving waters. It was so loud it was unbearable to sit in the restaurant. We came to watch the game but couldn’t stand staying in the environment. Waitress was super kind and understanding when we asked to leave.
The food was so delicious, and as a former server I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but our server was so horrible, we were there for 3 hours because we could never get a hold of someone - she was flirting with someone at the bar 10 feet away from us for hours instead of helping her tables. I understand it’s a bar setting, but when you have people making reservations you at least expect your drinks to be filled and to be able to order without having to hunt people down. Just overall seemed like we were inconveniencing her by being there, it was ridiculous. Bummer because the food was so delicious!! But the amount of time we wasted there because of how awful the service was, sucked.
When my party and I arrived, the hosts seemed confused that people had shown up to eat. I stood awkwardly as the host told me just one moment and walked away with no other explanation and was gone for 5 minutes before taking us to our table. We then sat for another 10 minutes waiting for our waitress. As we sat and waited we had to scream at each other in order to hear the person sitting right next to us because the music was being played at such an extreme volume. The waitress finally came and she sighed after we all told her what we wanted as if we had just done something to upset her (we all ordered standard menu items with no modifications). Shortly after she came back to inform us that they are out of the beyond burger. Which, in all fairness happens; it is the only vegan item on the menu though so the vegan in the group just ate french fries. One positive note, the food came very quickly. However, the waitress showed up probably around when everyone was just on their second bite of food and stuck the bill out towards us and said “I brought your bill. Do you want it?” At that point we were eager to leave so we took the bill and paid before anyone at the table even had the chance to eat half of their food. Overall, left feeling confused as to what/why that experience happened. Very odd behavior, odd ambiance, odd everything. The only good thing about the experience was once the waitress finally showed up we were able to get in and get out before anything else bad could happen.
Very loud but fun!
Dope spot for football Sunday. Didn’t have food but ambiance, music and cold beer were great. Our server, Sage, was very attentive and courteous.
Was surprised to find that The Ainsworth is so dedicated to being a sports bar that they don't adjust anything for weekend brunch. We arrived at 1:00 pm on Sunday to learn: 1.) they don't serve coffee, 2.) they play incrediby loud music even when most people are eating rather than drinking, and 3.) they charge restaurant prices while providing a dive bar ambience. However, my chicken sandwich was delicious, as was most of the food. The only food that wasn't good was the almost-raw bacon on the cobb salad/
Service was very friendly, but could have been more attentive. Music was great. Food was very good bar food.
DJs music was a bit loud. Would have been great to have more game commentary from the TV provider !!
The food was very good. The outdoor seating was great. However, we had pretty poor service that went from bad to worse when groups of men showed up for football Sunday. Our waitress was busy flirting with the men to pay much attention to our group of women. We had to keep flagging her down. The drinks we ordered took over half an hour to be brought to our table by our negligent waitress and at one point, an angry looking one brought our drinks over, and she looked angry at our waitress, probably because she kept forgetting to bring our drinks over. The food was good, but not good enough to return for another meal.
Excellent service our waiter and bus boys were ! Amazing but the manager was not so nice,
Actually blunt and borderline rude.
You have to have a proof of being over 21, even if it’s just for dinner. The guy at the door is extremely rude!!! The waitresses were nice and understanding. Although they ran out of 24k gold wings so I’d recommend getting there early. Also, the outdoor seating isn’t the best.
Service was extremely quick along with the very attentive actions throughout the entire time. Worth another trip back. :)
Terrible experience and really bad service….
Great time hectic due to event.
Perfect place to watch a sports game. Their outside seating has a great view of TV's and the vibe is energetic!
Service was excellent - good value - outdoor seating looked great
Food was okay, drinks were over priced compared to much nicer places. Photos are misleading that’s for sure. More along the lines of a dive bar
Lunch Saturday, June 26 we sat at a high top outside, had drinks and apps while watching the WAL vs. Denmark soccer match. Great ambiance and place to hang out with and catch a game!
WAS NOT WAS WHAT I EXPECTED I BOOKED IN A ADAVACE TO SIT ON HIGH TOP IN DRESS N HEELS ON THE DAMN SIDEWALK TALKING ABOUT TVS DONT WORK NEVER AGAIN
Loved the atmosphere. Long wait time for drinks though.
I love this place. I think I found my new brunch spot !!!!!
I could have been treated better given that I was playing my part as a well spending customer that was not pushy but management just continuously brush me off to tell me I had to spend a certain amount to be seated in an area I requested
It was birthday & we were seated at a hightop table. I think our waiter was Brooklyn, she was really nice.
Me & my boyfriend ate the burgers & the gold wings! Like did you really go to Ainsworth if you didn’t try the gold wings lol. They put a candle on my wings. But yea. Go for the experience. It was nice food was great.
Great for my birthday dinner everyone had the best time sitting outside on the couches!
I found this place for Mother's Day and it was nice and the food was delicious. The waitstaff was very attentive. We went for brunch and ordered the crispy calamari and my husband had the corned beef hash benedict and I had the chorizo breakfast dish. They were very good.
Definitely coming back again.
We made a reservation for a standard table but were not seated until 20 minutes after our scheduled time. We were seated at a high top right by the door, not where we had reserved, and it took about 20 additional minutes for anyone to come take our order. We were also seated right by the speaker and it was impossible to hear anything. Overall I am very disappointed in the overall experience at this location.
Loved it ! Food was amazing !
Food was good. Service was on point. The music was playing some great jams.
Great outdoor setup for watching games with friends once it gets a little warmer (no heaters).
I purchased a Pulsd deal that seemed too good to be true.. it’s true! There are a bunch of negative reviews on this spot but I had a much different experience. Service was top-notch, food was good, and although it was a little loud (Friday Happy Hour) it was a great atmosphere. The Pulsd deal made this unbeatable in terms of value.
Food was absolutely worried. In fact, worst i’ve had in NYC. Waitress was extremely rude once she found out I was using a Pusl’d deal. I am NEVER going back.
Great food, great cocktails and fun bar/restaurant vibe
The marinated chicken tacos were delicious. Burger was good too. Lighting was almost too dark and the unisex bathroom was a little awkward. The group next to us was obnoxiously loud- literally screaming at each other. We just wanted somewhere to eat quick and have a few drinks before heading to a concert down the block at Webster Hall. This was good for that. Would come back again.
Very disappointing. Menu posted online is not actually available at the restaurant (no branzino, brick chicken, etc.). Only pretty basic pub-food fare like burgers and sad tacos. When we made the reservation we thought we were going to a restaurant, but it was actually a nondescript sports bar that serves some food. Service was pretty disappointing too - they got my order wrong and our waiter never showed up check on us.
This place would likely be totally fine to visit for a football game or trivia night or similar, less good if you're hoping for a good meal out. Apparently the Chelsea location is nicer.
Great cocktails and wings, cute environment for a date or a chill time with friends
We got bottomless brunch but the mimosas were mostly OJ and super weak. Food itself was good. The place was freezing and some of us wore parkas while eating, and the waitress was not helpful when we asked if the room could be warmer at all.
Overpriced sports bar. Loud music and TVs everywhere so rather distracting. They do have a nicer lounge area in the back. Service was so-so.
I went here with a friend since there was a Pulsd voucher which seemed like a good deal. Reservation was for 5pm. We were seated at a high top in the the bar area since they said that the back was not open yet even though there were customers sitting there. The server never came to take our order, we were given one menu for the two of us and we were told that the menu that is on line is no longer their menu. The reason I bought the voucher was because I saw brick chicken and branzino on the menu. I was left to choose from burgers and sandwiches and tacos. We decided on the chicken and the shrimp tacos to split. We had to get up from our table and order from the bartender who was the only capable person working there. We had to continue ordering this way, getting up each time we needed something. The tacos were super bland and kind of gross. The drinks were good. The noise was borderline unbearable. Not going back ever.
Restaurant was disappointing. There was no heat as the heater was broken and it was freezing cold inside and outside. The food and service were average. The biggest disappointment was the addition of a 20% gratuity due to using a Pulsd voucher on the retail value of the meal. We were not informed of this policy and the tip and tax exceeded the cost of the voucher. Will never return here again
