The Ahwahnee Dining Room is now serving both a la carte and breakfast buffet from 7am-10am. Join us every Sunday for our Grand Brunch Buffet from 7am to 2pm, different rates apply. Lunch is served from 11:30am-2pm. Enjoy our Dinner Buffet from 5pm to 9pm featuring a carving station, dinner favorites and much more. If you experience difficulty making a reservation here, please call us directly at (209) 372-1490.

The Ahwahnee is near completion of a seismic retrofit renovation project in partnership with the National Park Service to preserve this iconic hotel. During the last phase of the project, the impacted areas will be isolated to the West Terrace and areas near the Dining Room. This work will result in some obstructed views, and we expect construction noise between 10AM–4PM, Monday–Friday. We have done our best to mitigate any negative guest experiences, though we recognize it may cause inconveniences and conditions. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Server was kind and attentive. Food was disappointingly average. Everything, however, was ruined by the rudeness of not one but two hotel staff (including the concierge) over the course of our brief 90 minutes on property. There is clearly a pattern here in the reviews and it’s one that senior-most management is either unaccountable to or just burying its head in the sand about. Happy for a representative of the hotel to reach out to discuss if they care to though I suspect those individuals are precisely the source of the terrible energy and attitudes you’ll find here. If you’re reading reviews, don’t think/hope that they’ve just had a few bad weeks/months…where there is smoke, there is fire. Maybe just come to check out the remarkable ambiance of the hotel because that is clearly what this place is relying on.

    Really enjoyed the atmosphere and wait staff. Very knowledgeable about the area and kind but not too pushy. Food was great. The soup and bread were FANTASTIC. would recommend.

    We loved our dinner the food the service and the View!! Amazing!! How ever the morning we had reservations at 8 they got us in about 5 after. We ordered and waited a hour on our food! We did let the 2 kids eat off Buffett at $37.00 each!! Our food was way better! For $23.00 a plate! Was not our waitress fault but the kitchen needs to speed it up it’s bacon and eggs! Made us miss our reservation for a trolly ride. But the trolley was very understanding and rescheduled us!

    The staff looked rude. There were lots of better seats but they gave us poor seats. Foods were so-so but bad value. Our coffee cups had been empty for a long time.

    Food was buffet style, but with that said quite diversified and well prepared. Service was excellent, and the piano player was a really special addition to the evening. The dining room itself is a magnificent, majestical setting. We really enjoyed our experience

    Room was tiny. I am grievously upset, that I left 4 cloths hanging in the closet, called 5 hours later to retrieve and confirm it... and was told if I left something there it is gone off site to Yosemite lost and found. My cloths were favorites and over $1000 all together... and it wasn't held and acknowledged by your very highly regarded and expensive hotel. Dumped into a general list and found for your 4 million park guests. If you care about your reputation, you will help me with the return of my cloths, that had a name, phone, address and credit card attached to it. Help!!!!

    The dining room is beautiful and the food was delicious! I was disappointed hat the windows were filthy and the grounds in poor condition, weeds, chain link fence and grass was in patches.

    The setting is incredible. Unfortunately, we were one of the early dinner reservations and often had to wait for food to be filled at the buffet stations. The quantities were very limited. The linens were stained on the table. The piano player was wonderful and our waiters were fantastic.

    This is a grand room with history and grandeur but we were disappointed by several things this go around. The views were tarnished by fencing with blue tarp, the food was a wedding buffet that was average at best. When leaving after our meal, we were surprised to see a pile of Franzia boxed wine next to the bar. It all seemed odd given the $200 price tag for a meal for two with one drink. Our server, who was very kind, explained that they had been buffet-only for 2 1/2 years. I would have expected a better experience given they had been doing the buffet for awhile while renovating the kitchen. This place is quite special. I hope they find a top notch sous chef, a creative mixologist as well as a sommelier, and a return to individualized meals to fit the ambiance and price tag.
