The Ahwahnee Dining Room conveys a feeling of elegance and refinement while maintaining a comfortable, natural atmosphere. The logs of stripped and polished sugar pine, which support the 34-foot-high beamed ceilings, reinforce the rustic ambiance that is reflective of The Ahwahnee’s mountain surroundings.

This is a one-of-a kind experience in a gorgeous setting. The service was kind and helpful. The ambiance was wonderful. We all enjoyed our food (spinach salads, French onion soup, bass, lamb chops, dessert), and the 100 year old sour dough was definitely worth it! I should have asked for the lamb to be cooked to medium— it was cooked to rare if you order it without specifying. The piano was lovely and we are so glad we went.

Excellent food; extraordinary service from Shannon and their assistant. Food delivery was well-paced, no rushing from one course to the next. Cocktails and wine were delicious, and I especially liked that it was possible to get a 6 oz or 9 oz pour of wine by the glass. I was a single diner and I felt well-cared for and welcome, not weird. All-around outstanding dining experience. It’s s splurge but more than worth it.

We had folks from 5 states in for a celebration of life. Reservations staff made sure we had a table for 14 and no other diners nearby. Service team was superb and handled a split check request with smiles and efficiency. A few of the dishes were not as flavorful as we hoped but nothing was mediocre. The creme brûlée was excellent. We were surprised that the mandatory service charge was only 18%. It was a beautiful evening in an incredible setting—inside and out.

Received great service from David and Thomas! Very patient in answering all our questions about the menu. And for a party of 8, it’s inescapable that one or more from the group will ask the same questions. Yet, they remained courteous. We all enjoyed our food. I ordered the steak frites medium rare. Although it came a bit more of a medium than I requested, it was nonetheless still juicy and delicious. I’ll order this dish again. Sever ordered the seafood pasta, and they liked it too. Can’t remember what others ordered, but I enjoyed mine. Overall, beautiful ambiance, great food, and outstanding service!

I would recommend to get reservations a few weeks to a month in advance. But it’s well worth the wait. We arrived a few hours early to enjoy the scenery and to get a drink at the Ahwahnee bar which is down the hallway from the restaurant entrance. I told the hostess that we had arrived and to text if there was an opening sooner and to let me know. We were texted that our table is ready 30 minutes prior to our reservation so that was great. Our server was sassy as she was mentioning her favorite things but they weren’t on the menu. Perhaps they were a seasonal item that she was talking about. The only thing that was slightly weird was that everyone was serve their food except for one person in our party who is the only one that ordered an entrée so we were eating without her. I would note not to drive and park there as there is zero parking as it’s mostly for the guests of the Ahwahnee hotel. There is also no Wi-Fi unless you are a guest staying there. So the Internet access is a little spotty. I would suggest taking the bus or riding the bicycle there. There is also a dress code but looks like some people did not get the memo.

I haven't been here for years, and was so excited to return and show my son this special place where I have made fond memories and had spectacular meals. We went for Sunday brunch and it was stunningly disappointing. The choices were minimal and nothing was the quality I would expect from this place and for this price. One fruit salad, one green salad, one grain salad. Roast beef, rubbery chicken, chicken fingers, mashed potatoes, vegetables, mac and cheese and an omelette station. Cold shrimp was the best dish. Some pastries were good, but that is seriously it. I have seen better buffets in much more casual dining establishments for half the price. Our service was awful. No plates cleared the entire meal, had to hunt down a sharp knife for roast beef, no drink refills until the end of the meal. I am still in shock. I sure hope they turn it around because this landmark location should have cuisine to match. We had an amazing meal the night prior at The Mountain Room at Yosemite Lodge.

Fabulous restaurant for brunch after our son’s wedding. Food was absolutely outstanding, service and staff so accommodating to get the entire wedding party seated together. Easy to go from table to table to talk with our guests without disturbing other patrons. The beauty of the restaurant was magnificent—the perfect place for a wedding meal. What an incredible experience.

We barely got a dinner reservation and we’re really looking forward to it. How disappointed we were! Don’t bother going to dinner here. Have breakfast (which was good with better service) lunch or just look in the dining room as the room itself is beautiful. However, for dinner we found out our waitress was on a triple shift and made it clear how tired she was! It took an hour and a half to get our main dish! Luckily we ordered a salad and soup which came after about 45 mts. The main dishes were small and mediocre! However, the boysenberry pie a La mode was the best thing even though it was cold. $200 dinner and it wasn’t worth it! Go to the Mountain restaurant if you want better value in much less time with better service.

Really gone down. Prime rib had the sitting under heat lamp for awhile leathery texture. Not freshly sliced and barely warm. Needs to be much better for $75. Chicken super dry and barely warm. Not sure if its the concession change or the COVID related cost savings by lowering quality. Noticed many 'fine' eateries have gone way down hill post COVID.

The setting is wonderful. A very majestic room and quiet. The prime rib was very good and cooked medium rare as requested. My wife was very unhappy with the roasted chicken. She ate very little of the meal. We ordered the rocket salad which we were told was arugula and although it was fresh leaf lettuce it did not resemble arugula in any way. Neither the waiter nor his assistant came by the table to inquire how our dinners were or we would have told them. The pricing was fair had the food been satisfactory.

We were seated at the best table in the house - called the "Queen's Table" - and it was like the Queen's table. Beautiful setting. If you've never been before, go during the day so you can see the splendor of the building and the surrounding landscape. The menu was not overwhelming with choices - but something for everyone! Our only regret was we ate too much to save room for dessert - between hamburgers, steak frite, Ceasar salad and killer butternut squash soup. This was a "bucket list" item for me and it did not disappoint.

A special lunch in a unique location! Wonderful views out the floor to ceiling windows from every table in the dining room. Delicious lunch - highlights were the Steak Frites and the Grilled Cheese with a salad. Both were outstanding. Good options on the wine list to complement the food. Grandkids loved their grilled cheese and fries from the kids menu. Definitely an experience worth planning for - as lunch is casual attire.

Magnificent dining room at the Ahwahnee Hotel at Yosemite National Park. Gorgeous historical property, splendid atmosphere, live piano, wonderful service, excellent food. Only negative is the limited choices of entrees. The have a good selection of appetizers and deserts and their almost 100 year old sour dough bread is to die for, but for the main course you are limited to prime rib, chicken, and fish. No steaks. No other choices except if they have a special like a pork chop. But overall a wonderful dining experience.
