Another great experience. The food was good and enjoyed being there.
Another great experience. Loved the picnic style and food was great.
Another amazing time for dinner. Would totally recommend. Even with COVID there was no table service. Basically a picnic in a bag and you go sit down. It was still great.

Great experience and love to go there for meals. Recommend this place.
Another amazing experience for a meal. Would totally recommend.
Despite receiving numerous confirmations and reminders, when I arrived at the reservation time, I was informed that the dining room was closed due to COVID-19 and the restaurant was take out only
We were able to eat at the Ahwahnee dining room on the last day of indoor service before the governor shut down indoor dining during the pandemic. It was a wonderful experience for my family and we were so lucky to get to dine at this historic restaurant in Yosemite.
The Ahwahnee Hotel dining room is very special and they have adjusted their service to maintain social distancing without sacrificing the quality of the dining experience.
Superb ambiance! Scrumptious, abundant food. Pleasant & kind staff. Perfect evening!
For amazing ambience, nothing beats the Ahwahnee dining room. With the Covid 19 precautions, the servers were limited in what they could do, but were always very helpful. The food was so so (best thing is the Caesar salad), the price is steep for a buffet, but just being in that spectacular room worth the price of admission!
All around great experience, but damped by the COVID restrictions, very expensive too and a buffet serve yourself meal and lesser choices. But we still enjoyed our experience. The Ahwahnee is a fabulous experience in life!
A simply stunning dinner - the building feels like something out of a movie. Live pianist was the cherry on top!
Ambience and service were excellent. We expected more from the food.
The Ahwahnee dining room never fails to impress. The room is so grand and the setting unforgettable. The pianist adds another elegant touch to the evening. Our waiters were great - taking care of us, but never being intrusive. The food was delicious. My husband had the onion soup as a starter, while I had the beet salad. Both were perfectly prepared. For the main course, we ordered ono and salmon. Both dishes were very good. Since I also enjoyed the bread at the beginning of the evening, I didn't save room for dessert, but the choices looked good. Dinner is pricey, but worth it for that special evening in Yosemite. There is a dress code so be sure to ask ahead for details (it's fairly lenient - collared shirts for men, for example) and you'll need to show I.D. if you want to order alcohol. We really enjoyed our evening, an experience we won't soon forget.
great service, worth the experience, beautiful, good food
Magnificent setting, food and service...truly special.
Honestly the behavior of the wait staff guarantee we won't return. We were the only ones in dress code but were consistently served dead last because we weren't guests of the hotel. Our server walked by multiple times without looking at us until we stopped them. Normally I would excuse this behavior...but there were only 3 other active tables in the whole room. They stood around talking to each other more than they did serving us. The man at the front desk was probably the worst host staff I've ever encountered. He was condescending, rude, and kept walking into the coat room where he had a glass of wine hidden in a cabinet. Super disappointing for a splurge meal on a milestone birthday.
Beautiful place; friendly and helpful staff. Pianist was wonderful and had a wide repertoire of songs. They were out of an entrée and two wines we wanted. Otherwise our meal was delicious.
There is nothing like eating at the Ahwahnee for an amazing ambience. The food was also delicious and service outstanding. We had a wonderful time. My only complaint would be the costs!
This is a once in a lifetime experience. You will not be disappointing
Great service, great food and great atmosphere. We always make it a point to have lunch here when we visit the park.
Always lovely. We go for lunch after a nice hike in the valley. Never disappoints
The food was fantastic as was the service. Given the COVID-19 status, the patrons should have been placed farther apart in the dining areas
Great place to add to your day in Yosemite National Park.
Room is exquisite! Food mediocre and service mediocre! Much better food and service at The Yosemite Lodge!
The host was a bit rude. We arrived 8 min. early, and were told that we would be seated at our reservation time. I didn’t think much about it but while I waited 8 min to be seated on time in an almost empty dining area I couldn’t help but notice that he didn’t say that to any other party. Weird... I didn’t want to let that ruin our meal. This was the only dinner I planed for our family of 5 vacation. The dining area is stunning! The views are soooo pretty, but hard to capture on film.
The Food....
hmm. It all looks really good, but falls short on flavor. The meat was all tough, and hard to cut with the “steak knife”. I would recommend that they invest in some new ones.
Husband had the porterhouse steak, cooked medium rare. It’s was ok but not tender. Mashed potatoes were good and asparagus were under cooked.(most restaurants are doing this now.)
16 year old son had the pork chop. This looked amazing but again fell short on flavor. The meat was hard to cut and chew. The salad on top looked so good but tasted like nothing.
I had the prime rib cooked medium. I couldn’t cut it and some bites were ok others found their way back to my plate. The waiter added extra horseradish sauce to my plate and that helped me get it down. (His recommendation said it was his favorite dish.)
The littles had a cheese burger and chicken tenders. They didn’t have any complaints. At 15 bucks each they shouldn’t!
Dessert.
The famous boysenberry pie... it is served cold and it’s not sweet at all. The crust was really good but would think it should taste better if it’s been around so long.
The cheese cake with Bacon... was just that
The rosemary cream was yuck!
But the kids liked the ice cream. I was under impressed all around.
It was Mom's 93 BD, Sandie & Grace were exceptional servers, even great singers when the everyone sang Happy Birthday to her. The soups were good, the scallop appetizer was very good (wished that was on the entree selection) I had the Ono, the fish was okay but didn't care for anything else on the plate, Mom had ordered from the kids menu and loved the salmon , I didn't think there was a good selection of items.
The food was horrible, especially considering the price. There is not a lot of fine dining options in the area, but I'm not that desperate to come here again for my wedding.
The Ahwanee Bar and Restaurant are both very good. Depends on whether you want a more formal sit down dinner or you simple want a bite with a beer or wine/cocktails.
This is our favorite treat each year eating in the amazing dining room of an amazing hotel.
Great dinner ! Large portions and excellent service. Thank you for honoring our request for a beautiful window table too.
We visit the Ahwanhee about six times per year. The new vendor, as of about 2 years ago is not nearly as good as the present vendor. The food is a little bit embarrassing in comparison to the locale and service what a shame.
All in all, a great experience! They are very strict about reservation times and yet our table wasn’t set for the appropriate number of people which seems silly. My bf and I both agree that if you’re going to treat it like a high end experience with high end prices then the service should reflect that. Anyway...our server Judy was a vet here at the Ahwahnee and provided excellent service throughout the meal! although we wish she would have had a little more wine knowledge (or maybe they should have a Sommelier? ). The food was GREAT the French onion soup was fantastic and I absolutely LOVED the duck carbonara. Wine prices are obviously quite inflated but we wound up with a great Cab for dinner. Overall ambience is quite lovely too. it has that cozy cabin feel with a classier, high end touch.
Overall we loved our dinner at the Ahwahnee! The service was outstanding. Judy our server and her partner were extremely attentive but not overly, just perfect. We both loved our meals, our only complaint being the fish entree and accompanying sides were a bit stingy for the price. But that will not keep us from returning.
The Ahwahnee was recommended to us as a "must" when visiting the Park. Now we know why & we're passing along the recommendation to our friends & family.
Really Happy overall. Food was good, service was excellent. Ambience was quality..loved the old feel and the candlelight. Very happy with our time spent at the Ahwanee. Made our
Anniversary special.
Room was nice. Quiet with an adequate size TV and a small refrigerator. There was no writing desk, but the chairs were comfortable. Restaurant was outstanding for its ambience and service, but food was just average is quality and way overpriced. Bar was average, but once again, items were way overpriced.
it's all about the place, beautiful room in a spectacular setting. it's absolutely not about the food which is barely palatable and very expensive. But hey, moon over Half Dome!
We celebrated our anniversary here and had a wonderful evening. When we had finished dinner we were surprised by a surprise “Anniversary “ dessert. The entire experience was perfect. Thanks, gentlemen.
