The Ahwahnee Dining Room conveys a feeling of elegance and refinement while maintaining a comfortable, natural atmosphere. The logs of stripped and polished sugar pine, which support the 34-foot-high beamed ceilings, reinforce the rustic ambiance that is reflective of The Ahwahnee’s mountain surroundings.

Ambiance is excellent. Menu is restricted, and good. However, it seemed the popular dishes run out quickly and the restaurant had the same problem repeatedly over multiple days

Made a reservation for dinner on Open Table. The restaurant was late seating us, but more than compensated us with Appetizers and Desserts. We felt very well taken care of. The food was what we expected and tasted very good. It was a great National Park Lodge experience.

The staff were extremely personable, courteous, professional and seem to truly enjoy their jobs! The environment, the energy is positive, elegant, calm, surreal and just gorgeous! The food was diverse, delicious and served perfectly! It was a grand experience to pamper our needs after a 20 mile hike the day before!

Food and beverages were overpriced and menu selection was extremely limited. On a scale of 1-5, I would rate the food a 2 (fair). Service was slow… Took one full hour to get our food

Ambiance excellent. Service Excellent - John and bartender were great! Loved the piano player during the meal. How lovely to have live background music. Food choices minimum and mediocre (only four choices for the main course). Surprising for such a nice venue. We were a table of 8 and chose different mains. Sea Bass was tough and bland, both prime rib choices (the special and normal size) just okay - loved the potatoes with the prime rib, chicken seemed to be the best choice at our table. We were surprised that there weren't more main course choices. Salad was not dressed so we had to ask for dressing. We thought the bread appetizer, though very tasty, was a bit overpriced. Wine choices were varied and great but priced a little high though to be expected in a high-end restaurant. Would we go back? Probably, but hopefully the renovation in January of the kitchen will bring it more up to snuff with the prices and the beautiful ambiance. Staff as usual was professional and wonderful.

Sunday Brunch for our Anniversary! We got married at Glacier Point 7 years ago and celebrated our anniversary weekend in the valley, hiking, biking and camping in Curry Village. The cherry on top of our wonderful weekend was the Sunday brunch at The Ahwahnee Hotel. It was delicious and lovely, including scrumptious prime rib, made to order omelettes an array of desserts and live music played by a pianist! ❤️

A la carte selections for Sunday breakfast were limited. My impression is they were trying to nudge folks to the brunch service. That said, the brunch service was superb. Service and ambience were outstanding. The waitress checked up on us a couple of times without being intrusive.

We had a wonderful time celebrating my son’s birthday. The dinner was delicious. The service was good. The ambiance is the best. The piano player even played happy Birthday when Susie our waitress brought a cupcake with a candle. One thing though, it is very pricey. They even charge $13 for a small loaf of bread that is usually complimentary in most restaurants Overall I would recommend it for special occasions.

Considering it is post Covid, the service and food were excellent. Roasted sea bass with romesco on a bed of crunchy green beans was perfect. Bruschetta with buratta, tiny peppers and greens was a treat. A hamachi crisp was light and tasty. All reasonably priced for such an historic place. And the baronial dining room with its Timbers, soaring ceiling, high windows and decorated with antique kilims is breathtaking.

Worried when making the reservation that the setting in Yosemite Valley would give the restaurant an excuse to cut corners, but from the prime rib to the crème brûlée, from the roast chicken and lamb chops to the cheesecake, the food was excellent. The venue ambiance, including a piano player, added an especially memorable touch to the evening. The round table seated nine perfectly; easy to converse in twos, threes, fours, and tell stories across the table. A delightful experience. Will be remembered.

Th dinner menu is very limited. Our waitress, Nicola, on Sept 14, 2022, was surly and rude. Our party of 4 had no incentive to spend more time dining. The piano music was way too loud; we could not hear each other speak. We will not come back again, nor will we recommend the Ahwahnee Dining Room, The shuttle stop was very dark at 7 pm; there is no lighting under the canopy. We did not feel safe waiting for the shuttle.

It’s a lovely place and the wait staff range from amazing (one waiter is incredibly informative about a wide range of Yosemite topics) to a minimum of professional, attentive and pleasant. My only complaint was the odd and glitchy operation at the reservation desk. We showed up exactly on time for a reservation…and were asked to wait until another couple returned from the restroom. ? ? The staff member preceded to chat with another staff member, then seated a quartet, another couple, the couple who arrived back from the bathroom and then finally, us. I’d probably have shrugged that off, but she also assigned us to the worst seating in the room - stuffed between two wait stations with very little leeway, and a view of construction barrier cloth outside -in a 95% empty dining room. When we asked to be be seated at another table the person trying to seat us muttered something about seating us within the appropriate section? The wait staff interceded, saying another table was also in their section, so we had a pleasant lunch. The mulligatawny soup was excellent btw :)

Wonderful!!! Will definitely dine again. Food was good. Service was fast. Vibes was romantic and not too loud with real candle on each table and live pianist. Not a lot of food selections but they’re all good quality foods for the price. Make reservation on open table (9 ppl). It’s nice that they have a dress code but nothing over the top or too strict.

We had a lovely meal at the Ahwahnee. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The room is absolutely stunning. I do feel like their dress code policy is pretty dated, especially considering they are located in a national park where people come to hike. I could maybe understand no T-shirts and flip flops, but not the collared shirt requirement. My husband luckily brought one collared shirt with him on our hiking trip, but it was long sleeved so when we went to check in he was holding it instead of wearing it. He did have on a very nice looking shirt that didn’t have a collar and was asked if he was aware of the dress code. That stuffy attitude is a bit of a turn off to me, but we still enjoyed a nice meal.
