The Ahwahnee Dining Room conveys a feeling of elegance and refinement while maintaining a comfortable, natural atmosphere. The logs of stripped and polished sugar pine, which support the 34-foot-high beamed ceilings, reinforce the rustic ambiance that is reflective of The Ahwahnee’s mountain surroundings.

The brunch is expensive but we'll worth it. The votes and ambience are amazing and the food is even better. Not for every day but you need to do this as part of your bucket list. Just amazing.

Not up to their usual elegant standards. Seemed short staffed. Only one vegetarian option, and they were out when we arrived. As a vegetarian, I did not feel that my business was welcomed. How hard would it be to include a simple pasta on the menu? We eat there every year, but somehow this wasn't the same.

What a great place to have dinner. The ambiance is wonderful with a piano playing and the inside so beautiful and then the food was amazing. Very good high end food. My wife had the salad and she loved it. I had the smoked duck carbonara. The food was amazing. Great falcons dinner just right. Even the iced tea was good and the got tea at the end if dinner was a great. Highly recommended

The ambiance is overwhelming. You are ready to enjoy the food before it even arrives. Very experienced service staff and elegant accoutrements. A bit pricey, but not for a hotel.

Beautiful dining room. Host is arrogant - seems to enjoy making people wait. Our waitress was very kind. Food is ok but overpriced for what it is.

Only one vegan option (decent, but way overpriced). Piano player is a nice touch. Coat check available. Nice place to celebrate a bday (server mistakenly sent mom's bday dessert to the wrong table but later corrected the error). Service was otherwise good. For the price and lack of vegan options I wouldn't go back, but it was nice to try once and mom was happy.

Winter in Yosemite is quiet. Understood. Here is a hotel that has a standard room rate of over $500/nite. The dining room was less than 1/3rd full. The problem here was the staffing levels. One waitress and one server for the entire room.

We did not choose the brunch option (self served buffet) so that means we were dependent on staff to get our food. Wait to order, food came quickly (a plus) then crickets until I mentioned to the server we would like our bill. Delay on getting that and then a delay in getting that processed. Sooo slow.

Staff were professional and polite just greatly understaffed. A shame.

Fantastic venue. Recent reviews says the food and/or service has gone down but that was not our experience. Wonderful wine list. They gave us a few cognacs to taste before deciding on an after dinner drink; they were all excellent but we certainly appreciated the chance to taste them and pick which one suited our palate. Staff were friendly and attentive. We returned the next night since it was such a good experience.

Not what it use to be. Cost cutting and poor management is pretty evident. Recent stories about people getting sick and cleanliness in all the Yosemite properties another big concern. Tragic that such an iconic property and restaurant/setting has been allowed to slip into mediocrity. Not worth the price now.. neither the restaurant or the hotel. Do a walk through and maybe have a drink, but save your money and do not patronize this property until such that the National Park Service and Aramark get their act together.

The hotel is a beautiful place. The decorations and furniture reflect it’s long history. We had a great view of Half Dome from our room on the third floor. The setting of Yosemite ,with a light dusting of snow, can hardly be matched for beauty.

The Ahwahnee Hotel is an incredible historic structure and is worth visiting for that purpose. Our dining experiences were certainly not commendable in regards to the quality of the food but the atmosphere made it worth the trip. We ate at both the Bar in the lobby area as well as the dining room for dinner.

I understand that the prices need to reflect the remote logistical demands of the location but wish a little more attention to the quality of the food would be given to justify the cost.

I would only recommend it during daylight for the view only.
We were sat a stable directly next to a service station and requested to be reseated.; as did the next people they tried to seat there. The table we finally sat at was wobbly and an annoyance through the entire meal. Just sit people in the middle at night there is no view outside!
My Lamb was good but nothing extraordinary. The other plate was salmon and very underwhelming presentation wise, it looked like it could have come from the Costco freezer for a much lower price.
The fruit pie was the best part of the meal big enough to share.

Sunday brunch. Didn’t do the $55/per buffet but ordered off the very limited menu. Food was mediocre at best. Not bad, just not good.

Maybe it was the holidays were winding down, but I’m REALLY glad we didn’t go for the buffet. It was a shadow of its former glory.

But, the view!

Oh, somebody needs to clean the cobwebs up on the ceiling and light fixtures.

This dining experience is more about the dining ROOM than the food. It's great room in a grand hotel. Unfortunately, the majestic picture window at the far end of the room has been sealed off by an old funky looking curtain. That detracts from the experience. As for the food, don't expect much. It's a limited menu and the food is just average. The hefty prices reflect the premium for great room in a wonderful enchanting location, not the cuisine. If you keep that in mind, you'll be fine. The serving staff was attentive and hard working.

Lunch at the Ahwahnee this time was very disappointing. It wasn't anything like I remembered. The food was so ordinary, blah, and extremely overpriced for sub-cafe type food. I wanted and expected to be wowed. Lunch started and ended well with a delicious hummus and flatbread appetizer and a trio of gelato for dessert. But all the entrees were underwhelming and did not meet our expectation. The calamari appetizer was oily and looked previously frozen with some cocktail sauce from a jar. The Ahwahnee burger was just an ordinary burger for almost $20 if you add a slice of Swiss cheese. The cheesesteak roll was doughy and flavorless. The roasted vegetarian wrap was strange hot and cold vegetables wrapped in a thick tasteless tortilla that I ended up discarding. The cheese lasagna was just that, a ton of cheese and lasagna noodles, again with little flavor and a lot of oil. The Dungeness Crab wedge salad was a plateful of Iceberg lettuce buried under a soup of Blue cheese dressing and a good amount of cold crab. Lunch for 6 with no alcohol or drinks cost came to almost $200 with tax and tip. The service was excellent when we arrived at 12:30 but as more tables filled up, the servers became frazzled and short with our request for the check. Also, being New Year's Eve, many of the servers and hostesses were called to bring in tabletops and clear existing tables for a party later that evening. We felt like we were in the way of their set up. I'm so disappointed in the Ahwahnee and won't be coming back.

Everything was perfect. PERFECT.

Carol was our server and Omar was her assistant. They were superb. Carol was knowledgeable about the menu, the hotel, grounds, and told a few delightful stories About people she has served over the years. Omar was ready with coffee throughout the meal and backed Carol up like Biden backed Obama.

If you go early (5:30 vs 6:00) on a Monday night expect to be told to come back later and it doesn’t matter in the slightest that half of the tables are empty. Our special request for a certain seat location was ignored. Drinks came well after the appetizer. The food was tasty and the server was friendly but potions were small and expensive. We won’t be back unless travel conditions in the park make going elsewhere a problem.

All great except our waitress telling us our credit card was denied and giving them another and saying it was denied and my husband saying this must be on your end and she said no and then tried our 3rd card and then my husband nicely said you may want to check with your manager to make sure your system isn’t down. Sure enough it was their system. No harm but annoying how she kept saying it was our cards. LOL.

Worst meal we have ever had, and overpriced. All main dishes were cold. Half of the 11 of us felt ill for the rest of the day after the meal. The salad was spoiled and tuna was dry and overcooked. The kids were just as dissatisfied as the adults in the poor quality food. Soup was served to me and 30 minutes later my husband's soup was served to him and then the server placed our main dish orders. Our kids were at another table and finished their meals before my husband's soup came to the table. They even managed to mess up the hamburgers. We will not be back. We have eaten here every year, looking forward to the meals, but the last 2 years we noticed that quality has declined. This year it was inexcusable.

You need to have a reservation or you will wait a long time. If you aren't a guest in the hotel they won't even add you to the wait list. The food was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. The night we were there they were out of chicken and salmon which is mainly what we eat. We received most of our service from the assistant, and he was great. The server seemed very busy and did not spend much time with us.

The Ahwahnee Hotel is a wonderful place visit. We love the building, especially the great lounge and grand dining room, and the people were very kind. The food was good, but not excellent. The room cleanliness/maintenance was ok, but not what you would expect at a 5-star hotel. The fireplaces are wonderful, but result in very poor air quality throughout the hotel, such that you really should warn people with asthma or other respiratory conditions. In terms of value, the building and setting are superb, but there is nothing about the operation of the hotel that warrants the 5-star prices. The gift shop offers more tourist-oriented merchandise and fewer beautiful things than in the past.
