The staff were amazing. Just 4 stars for food because we didn't know what to expect - our bad, not the restaurant's. But LOVED the delicate and intricate flavours, the range of textures. Appreciated the willingness of staff to explain ingredients though they might have spoken a bit louder -- I'm old and it's hard to hear sometimes :-) The SORBET was TO DIE FOR! My Italian husband thought the pasta was cooked to perfection with just the right texture. And the final salad in our tasting menu was unbelievably good. Yum, yum, yum! A magnificent celebration of our 3rd wedding anniversary!

I had one of the most disappointing brunch experiences at The Acorn this past weekend. The oyster mushroom dish was overwhelmed by a thick, heavy batter, and the waffle it came with was soft and soggy. On top of that, the service was intrusive—my friend and I were interrupted multiple times, and at one point, we were told we only had 20 minutes left for the table, despite the restaurant being half empty. Nowhere on our reservation made through OpenTable indicated that we had a limited time to dine. We also noticed that guests at other tables, including some who arrived around the same time as us, experienced far less interruption and were not informed of any time limit. Overall, it was a frustrating and underwhelming experience. I would not consider going back.

The acorn is generally fantastic. The flavours achieved by the cooks and chefs are exemplary. My partner and I came here for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. We missed the window for the chef's menu (last seating at 830) but we dined á la carte and also got a recommended wine pairing from our waiter. Everything was absolutely delicious and the wine pairings were excellent. Great work from the team, thank you for the wonderful experience, it was one we will absolutely remember.

It was alright. We came for mothers day and the service and staff were great! The atmosphere was quaint and intimate. The drinks were good too. However, the food was a bit more underwhelming. Some were interesting, but the taste was a bit subpar and despite the complicated explanation, the taste was not as complex, some was either overly acidic or overly salted. A few 'hot' dishes' like tempera also came cold or lukewarm. We also waited 20 minutes between a couple courses, but with no updates. The dessert was the highlight for me though. The cornbread was nice and fluffy. For the price, the experience was average I'd say.

Every time I bring a Meat-eater friend, after eating at Acorn they are happy to convert to a vegetarian. The food is absolutely delicious!
