   Very nice food. Good service, but lack of ambience as we were sat upstairs by ourselves. Although will return again, food and wine very good!

   I booked online for an early mother’s day lunch on Saturday. It did not state anywhere they would only be serving a brunch menu (despite having lunch and set menu options shown online). Each item on the brunch menu was £16, this included a soup, a salad and parfait. I regularly eat out and am happy to pay for quality, however this was ridiculously overpriced for what were essentially starters. The ‘skin on fries’ were bog standard French fries, the service unattentive and overall a thoroughly disappointing experience. We left hungry. Such a shame as we were really looking forward to it.

   Absolutely awful experience. Waited 30 mins for our 9pm table (were seated at 9:30pm eventually) then had to wait for drinks for about 15 mins then didn't actually get our starters until 10:30pm!! Then we were told that 1 of our main course choices was not available. We left at 11pm having only had 2 starters! I will NEVER go here again. Shocking

   I hope Saturday night was just one of those meltdown evenings in the kitchen but to arrive at 9pm and get your Luke warm main course at 11.10pm is a tad poor by anyone’s standards. But forgivable if acknowledgement of their problem was given. But not an offer of a feee drink or anything. Sad because we have enjoyed The Abbey 2 times before without a hitch.

   It is in an excellent location and intimate surroundings. Service was very good and food very good too. My Guinea fowl was slightly dry, but overall we both enjoyed the food. Atmosphere was great and we will return!

   Great food but something was up with the kitchen and we were waiting forever. Eventually gave up on our desserts. Waiting staff were friendly but powerless to get our food to us more quickly. Would give them another chance on the food quality alone but another experience like that would be the last.

   The food was nice enough, but with only four options per course on the menu you can’t really afford to run out of one main course and two desserts as happened on Saturday night. As I say, nice enough, but the choice was far too limited.

    Great atmosphere for meeting friends. We had a mix of vegetarian, pescatarian & meat eaters - the quality of the food was very good. The service was attentive, but not over the top. Looking forward to our next visit.
