That's Italian (Woodbridge) Ratings and Reviews
Pizza was only fair. Salad was unfortunately tasteless. The special was cannelloni and it was alright. The service was very good. Our waitress took good care of us. There was a large group next to us and they were noisy. However, other than that it was a comfortable place. Probably won't be back to this one... Sorry.
My ravioli was too al dente and there was too much filling. My husband's steak was very good but for the price it wasn't the best cut and came with very few veggies. I would only go back if I was going with a group and this was the choice. Can't complain about the service as it was excellent although I did have to ask for water.
Online, showed up on time and the place was packed and no table. The hostess/server/bartender/family member was rather abrupt when I said we have a reservation for 7:45PM. With that said we sat at the bar had apps then sat at a table 30 minutes later. Overall nothing spectacular about this place. The food was bland and the pizza crust was really hard and brittle. The meal and drinks would have been ok for $50 but the bill was over $80. While not a fan of chains the chains do Italian better than this place.
I did a quick open table search for any restaurant in York Region with availability to host 10 people at a specific time. That's Italian came up amongst others but had the most and best reviews. My party of 10 was pleasantly surprised at how great this random place none of us had been to before was. Tasty food and excellent service. Highly recommended!
There was 5 of us at dinner, the polenta fries were delicious as was the pizza. The pizza had a delicious crust that was cooked perfectly without being burnt. I had the chicken dish with vegetables, again cooked perfectly, not dry. The seafood pasta was okay according to my friends who ordered it. Nice variety of food to chose from. My only complaint would be that their online dine-in menu prices do not correspond to their menu.
Read many good reviews for this place and was surprised at our experience. Ordered 2 pizzas and they both tasted as if the crust was from a frozen pizza. Very disappointing. Warm mushroom salad was good. Not a pleasant experience there. Perhaps it was an 'off' day??
Food was great. Our server, Angie, was terrific! I sampled 5 wines before selecting the perfect glass (just a glass - not a bottle!). I googled restaurants close to the 407 - this was a great find. I met with two colleagues and this was a central location. Will definitely be back!
We went to That's Italian for my birthday dinner and from the moment we walked in the staff was so pleasant and we were seated right away. The people are great and the food was amazing, I will definately go back and sooner than later. Loved it! Made my birthday more special. Thank you to the staff and cook.
I had dinner with friends here upon someone else' recommendation. One must indulge in the appetizers: at the very least Fried Calamari (available grilled also) and Polenta fries. Both were well made, notable were the POLENTA FRIES though. Main course: Pizza very thin crust (just what I was looking for) and friends enjoyed 2 different pasta dishes. Both commented right away the dishes were good. Quaint little restaurant in Woodbridge away from the hustle and bustle of mainstream. Staff at That's Italian were very friendly and very comfortable to converse with.
No complaints re. service and food. I'd say, however, that dinnertime is geared to families and groups, not couples. My companion and myself were, in fact, the only couple in what was a full restaurant. To the credit of the staff, we did not feel at all ignored in spite of being outnumbered.
I'm not sure if there's a "lunch" menu but we went there for lunch on a Saturday and ordered a pasta dish each - seafood fettuccine & cheese stuffed pasta pockets with cream sauce. Delicious and I've eaten a lot of Italian food in my life. Service was friendly and welcoming although the hostess had forgotten to turn the "We're Open" sign over so we originally thought it was closed although we had made reservations. Luckily she noticed us standing at the door and came to open it for us. I did have to ask for my water to be refilled the 1st time and she came by automatically later to refill it the 2nd time. There were only five people in the restaurant so it wasn't busy at all. Overall very nice experience and would recommend.
I love going there because surely the food is excellent! I was quite disapointed with the service..I have to admit. It was my first time going at night for dinner with hubby( been there at night for company Christmas dinner), usually we go for lunch with the kids and has been stellar. So i still recommend . It's intimate, cozy and with a great atmosphere. The food is greatttttttttt and regardless of the service...if you're in good company you'll enjoy it.
My wife and I don't get a lot of 'date time' away from the business of raising kids and are always looking for nice places to go to.
We were treated with respect and really showed her passion for the food and the restaurant itself. She recommended some fantastic wine for me (Pavilion Cab/Shiraz is ridiculously good!).
The waitress knew we were here for a nice 'date' evening and adjusted how often she came to us accordingly. She gave us space and we did not feel rushed at all.
The food was excellent quality, portions were generous.. While we definitely paid good money for it we truly felt we got great VALUE. This, combined with the excellent service means we will be returning.
