Awww. Thanks, Anon, for your 5-Star Review and that amazing comment. Just last night we stood together for a moment, surveyed the dining room, and gave thanks that every table was filled with awesome guests who were trust us to provide unique and delicious specials. Everything is awesome!
The food was awesome, dessert
We really appreciate you posting your 5-Star Review, Anon. We'll keep closer tabs on our service Ps and Qs, and I hope you'll experience the difference on your next visit.
Another wonderful dinner at That’s Amore. Remodel has made the restaurant more contemporary but retained the neighborhood feel. Food is delicious, as always, but with extra something in the presentation that was appreciated. Our wine was superb (a Barolo, we were celebrating). We ate outdoors, which has thankfully, expanded a bit. The whole experience, with a friendly and warm welcome and service, was as always, appreciated.
We've made so many changes since March 2020 (while keeping our core recipes in tact) that we sometimes forget to stop and enjoy the new / refreshed aspects. So thanks very much, Anon, for posting your 5-Star Review and spreading the good word about what our regulars can expect on their first return to the dining room or sidewalk cafe. That Barolo is one of my bingos on our updated wine list. Really happy that it added so much pleasure to your meal.
We were a large party. Everything we ordered - and everyone ordered different drinks, appetizers, main courses, and desserts - was scrumptious except for one item which was not at all good. A bit of a long bit to travel within the city, but a very pleasant little section of Seattle.
So glad you're entire party had a great meal and that you're 'long bit' of a drive through the city was worth it. Thanks for taking the time to post your 5-Star Review, SeattlePatty.
Delicious good, friendly and helpful customer service! Highly recommend That's Amore to anyone wanting a terrific meal.
You are so kind, JoanB, to not only share your 5-Star scores but to add such delightful comments and tags. The, "Fit For Foodies," one used to make me nervous. But since we've reopened for indoor and outdoor dining with a chef who gets us and our audience while also bumping us up a notch, I've got to accept that foodies will be so pleased with everything!
Great food, service, and general setting. Excited to return in the future.
Thank you so very much, Harold, for posting your 5-Star Review and hitting us with so many complimentary tags. But just in case...we aren't open for lunch though it's not unusual for us to pull you inside anyway to tease you into coming back for dinner. "Hot Spot," really sent a tingle.
Best Italian food in Seattle, and kindest team of staff ever! My partner and I love this place forever. Crab pappardelle is the key to happiness
I got such a kick out of, "Crab Pappardelle is the key to happiness." I'm going to use that in a post! Thank you very much, JordanT, for posting this 5-Star Review and hitting so many tags. We try to have every guest leave feeling just plain ol' better physically and in a great mood. Seems we hit that with you. Thank you, crab.
Every aspect of dining at That’s Amore is truly delightful! From the hospitality, to the local setting, to the remarkable quality of classic Italian dishes!
We love every aspect of your 5-Star Review, SteveM. Thank you so much for relaying the entire experience to our viewers.
That's Amore has fantastic food at a good value, nice wine selection and friendly service. Especially love their seasonal salads; it's a lovely neighborhood gem.
I completely agree that we've hit the mark with those seasonal salads, EmilyT. And I'm so glad you the rest of your meal and our service landed on a 5-Star Review. I love the term, "lovely." I'll use that again soon.
Meh to all the food. Too expensive given the quality and ambiance.
"Meh," misses the mark for both you and me, Kelley: I don't think food that's just so-so is worth any expense these days. Even if your meal wasn't to your liking, our other ratings rarely dip into your range, so I'm as disappointed as you are. Please do share whatever you'd like to see differently next time so we can work on those.
Delicious food and generous portions! Attentive, friendly, happy staff! The experience couldn't have been better! We're looking forward to our next visit - mmm!
Whoo Hoo! The best compliment we can read is one that's forward-looking to your next visits SaturdayLunch. Thank you very much for sharing your scores and comments!
The staff here go out of their way to make the most welcoming and fun environment. The food is delicious and presented beautifully. Love this place.
We're constantly working on the great F's that we want all of our guests to experience: Food, Fun, and Fellowship. We're so glad we hit all three for you visit, Lois.
Love this restaurant. My new fav.
What more of a compliment could we possible receive better than, "My new fav." Thanks so much, Anon, for taking the time to post your scores and comments.
This restaurant is fantastic. From the in house made bread, the the wine, pasta and dessert, everything was perfection. The waitress who served us was so friendly and made us feel welcome. This will be one of our regular places to go from now on.
I'm struggling to find the, "Thank You," that reflects how much your review means to us, Kona. Great food served with heart and humor is just our color, and I'm glad you tried us on.
I can't believe we hadn't come sooner. We felt like a member of the family as this is a neighborhood restaurant where everyone knows one another with great food.
I can't believe you hadn't come sooner, either, RandyO! We are so glad you enjoyed the entire Amore experience! Great food is paramount, and we're so fortunate to have gathered a team that goes beyond just good food and service. We do hope everyone feels like they're part of the gang when they're here.
Loved the food, service and neighborhood feel!!
Hi, Vivians, thank you very much for posting your 5-Star Review. We strive to make people feel like they're having dinner at a friend's house, and it looks like we hit that mark.
Anniversary dinner was excellent. Great view of Elliot Bay at sunset. I had the Dungeness crab pasta that was excellent. My husband had the Chicken Parmesan. Very good as well. Service was friendly and attentive.
Thank you for the 5-Star Review. But even more important than the scores is our gratitude that you trusted us with your important meal. That crab is the bomb, and our Parm satisfies every time. It never hurts that the view from the dining room is both unexpected and impressive.
We arrived at designated time and were greeted and seated immediately. Our southern-most outdoor table was quiet and a pleasant breeze kept us quite comfortable, important in hot weather. For a starter we had the delicious rice cakes followed by a shared specials of salad and pizza. All very good. Excellent food and service!
Thank you very much, SueH, for your 5-Star Review and the specific compliments. We strive to make your experience as close to going to a dinner party at a friend's house as possible. So we work our service to have your table ready right on time. And I'm so glad our little effort to get you that breeze was noted. We do like having an interesting wine list to entice folks to try something new. That spinach salad with cantaloupe and the bacon jam pizza did look and taste like summer.
Lovely neighborhood mid-upper tier italian restaurant. New outdoor seating is great in summer weather - shaded in the evening (when we went). Service is great.
What a lovely 5-Star Review, Blair. Thanks for taking the time to provide such detailed descriptions and tagging us in all those categories. If we can continue to land in the, "mid-upper tier," while holding firm to our, "still have cardboard box dust on us from moving," tier and, "flip flops with sweat pants were the order of the day," tier..then we're right where we want to be.
Great food, with comfortable indoor seating during an especially warm period in Seattle. Staff was friendly and food was really delicious. We look forward to returning to this gem!
Thanks, SarahS, for your review. We feel fortunate to have a space that can keep us comfy in warm weather. Glad you enjoyed our spacious seating, which we intend to keep somewhat in tact even though we could return to 48 seats now.
Birthday. Great staff. Very friendly, safe, clean and the most incredible food!
Whoo Hoo, Anon. Thanks so much for taking the time to post your 5-Star Review. I'm so glad you felt safe, enjoyed the service, and–of course–your meal. Boom!
I really really wanted to like this place. Pictures looked great, reviews looked great, it's a local spot in an area without a lot of restaurants...but man, the food was not good. It wasn't "bad." It was just not good. Very mediocre. We tried 4 entrees between 2 of us just to try everything and only 1 dish was any good. Big sad.
We are as disappointed in your experience at the cafe as you are, JohnQ. Obviously we want to create a better experience for all of our guests, so please consider providing us with some details of why your scores are distinctly lower than 80% of all other reviews. You can do so here or through the contact form on our website.
Food was excellent and friendly environment. Tables are spaced nicely so noise level low and felt comfortable. Would definitely come again!
Whoo Hoo, Anon. Thanks so much for taking the time to post your 5-Star Review. Of course I'm happy you enjoyed your meal. I'm just as pleased that you had a great experience. You'll be happy to know that we're reducing our capacity from 48 seats to just 36. So we're keeping some of the spacing, and we're able to spend more time delivering that Amore experience to your table.
Wonderful to be inside again. Excellent food and friendly, helpful wait staff. Just too noisy for my taste.
Hi, LouiseA. I'm so glad everything other than the noise hit the 5-Star mark. We have discovered that fewer tables in the cafe results in sound having free reign to bounce on the walls and in our ears :) So the noise should be more under control as we're able to return to more tables inside, and we've scheduled a consultant to help us dampen the sound.
My new favorite, neighborhood Italian joint! I moved from the Central/Madison Valley area and had my go-to Italian place, and I loved it. This is my new spot now that we have moved to Columbia City and, dare I say it, it's better!
The owner is charming and provides great service. He even treated us to dessert AND, a dessert wine for the ladies too. What a guy!
We ordered the clams, bruschetta, and a caesar salad to start. All delicious, especially the clams.
Then, my friends and handsome husband had the risotto, the chicken Marsala, and the grilled eggplant. They all loved their dishes! I had the puttanesca - the creme de la creme. It was amazing. In fact, the best I have had in the USA (I've had the pleasure of enjoying the dusg overseas and of course, in Italy). It was amazing. Spicy, full of flavor, and the pasta was so fresh!
We can't wait to come back. I need to save all my weekly carbs for this place!
Holy Moly, Anon! I love how your husband gets, "handsome," and I get the label of the owner with the, "great personality." That one brought a huge laugh from all of us here. But more importantly, we're so pleased that you enjoyed your meal and overall experience. I'm going to use, "Carb-Starving," to plan your next meal with us is a new marketing ploy I'll be working on. Re: the free dessert, clearly I was just as charmed with all of you as well.
Celebrated my birthday. It was wonderful. Food was delicious. Staff wonderful.
Thanks, InTownHost, for posting your 5-Star Review. So nice your Amore experience hit those marks and served up a great birthday experience. Thank you for trusting us with your important occasion.
Kismet led us to a mind blowing love affair. In my 57 years dining in the best spots up and down the north east centered on marvelous New York City, I have never chanced upon such a pleasant staff, owner and dining experience. I stumbled into the cheesy sticks which were unquestionably The best bread and cheese combination I have experienced in my life. We were giving a five star review on that alone. Expecting disappointment, thinking there was no where to go but down, we proceeded to have four perfect entrées. Meatballs that put Rao’s to shame. A sublime Dungeness crab pasta. The second best carbonara we’ve ever experienced in our lives. And the best marsala I’ve ever had for reasons you just have to experience for yourself. And a complementary tiramisu that was mind blowing. All because two wonderful gentlemen decided to rescue a neighborhood treasure passed on from a culinary expert who explained his magical craft that lives today more than 50 years after he first figured this stuff out.
Woah! Your review is almost too much to take in. In fact we've been consuming again your review in pieces...almost like binge watching an amazing show. Thank you so much for all of the compliments, Anon. We strive to provide a dining experience, and it seems we hit that mark with both our food, service, and camaraderie we build with each party. Thank you Thank you Thank you!
As usual, wonderful food and service! We'll be back!
I love the, "As usual, " part of your 5-Star Review. Consistency can be hard to judge from our side, so I'm happy to report to our crew that their hard work in building consistency is paying off.
The food was delicious. Will definitely be coming back soon.
Thank you very much, Tiffani, for your 5-Star Review. The, "Fit for Foodies," tag means so much to our chef and his crew.
Everything was excellent but I’d prefer a better Pinot Grigio. Taste was harsh.
Thank you so much for the 5-Star Review, mazamagirl. I wanted to have one super low-priced Pinto Grigio for the patio this summer, and the price is reflective of the quality in this case. Next time try the Bertani's Due Uve (2 grapes: Pinot Grigio and Italian Sauvignon Blanc. The Sauv Blanc is unusual, but this wine is produced by one of the finest in Italy and is both clever and delicious. Or ask me for another recommendation and we'll play with some of the whites we have.
Great food. The wait staff treated us well!
Thanks, Aggie, for posting your 5-Star Review. So nice your Amore experience hit those marks.
Everything here is so delicious and so well-priced. The two stars, for me, are the Dungeness pappardelle (when they have it) and the wild boar ragú. The special scallop appetizer that we had was also perfectly cooked. The warm chocolate cake sent to us by the owner is a perfect example of the super caring, warm, and community-driven vibe this restaurant has. Certainly, gestures like that are never expected; however, I think it speaks to the familial ambiance they aim to create. Such a fabulous little Italian eatery with a stunning view - I hope you try it and love it as much as we do.
Impeccable service from staff and ownership. The owner is committed to having That’s Amore! act as a caring, compassionate neighbor would. Last year they gave 600 meals to those in need and reduced their prices for their patrons.
The food was excellent, the presentation outstanding. It had been a decade since I’ve been to That’s Amore!, and I recommend the restaurant wholeheartedly. I’ll be back soon and regularly and recommend that you go too.
Thank you very much, Andy, for your 5-Star Review. We know the weight of words like, "impeccable," and are thankful our service and food fit that compliment. We are truly blessed to have been able to be good neighbors–both personally and via the business–during these extraordinary times. And thank you for evangelizing our message of, "We Get To Carry Each Other," in more ways that just feeding people.
Great meal, wonderful outdoor seating. Super cute and the service and food were amazing
Apologies for the delay in responding to your review, Anon. You are very kind to add those notes. We are so in love with our upgraded outdoor seating. The lighting in the umbrellas, speakers, and restored large table in the 'pen' create a suitable environment for you to then enjoy our food. Thanks!
Best restaurant - food and service in the city !
First I apologize for not responding earlier. Best in the city? Thank you! I truly mean it. Thank you for the compliment.
Great service and food. The view of the sunset was amazing!
Meant to make my response public. Sorry for the duplicate... Thank you so much, A, for the 5-Star Review. We recognize that it takes effort to provide feedback, and we take to each one to heart.
Thank you so much, A, for the 5-Star Review. We recognize that it takes effort to provide feedback, and exclamation points make our day!
A favorite restaurant of ours, with great service, excellent food, and a pleasant location over looking downtown Seattle.
We love it when someone still has that 5-Star Review feeling days after dining with us. Thank you, JeffH, for posting your review and your categories. I'll congratulate Chef Chris for earning the Fit For Foodies and Create Cuising tags.
Nice place, good food, good outside seating.
Thanks for taking the time to post a review, Ross, and we're happy to see good scores in all the categories. Feel free to let us know during your next visit what could take those 4s up a notch.
Our favorite restaurant 🥰‼️
Thank you very much, TLC4, for posting your 5-Star Review. We love it even more when people let their scores roll around in their head for awhile then still post all 5's. Shows your experience stuck with you this long.
