Reasonable prices, nice decor and not over done like some Greek restaurants, ample parking, service was good, will definitely go back
The staff was very attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout the evening. The food was great, and there was a lot of everything. We will definitely visit again!
The best service and food, wonderful atmosphere! You can tell that management really takes priority in caring for their guests. Highly recommend!
We had a group of 7 which can be a challenge, but Thassos had the PERFECT oval table that fit all of us comfortably. Everyone was able to engage in the conversations while enjoying the DELICIOUS meal. With their extensive appetizer choices, some of us 'snacked' our way to a full meal while others enjoyed their dinner. My 11 year old daughter wants to go back for the lamb chops! NICE JOB....we WILL be back!
Much needed great addition to the dining scene in the south suburbs. Amongst a sea of fast food chains, this place brings a menu and ambiance that is unique for the area. We will definitely be returning!
It’s was tremendous. First visit, food was fresh and amazing. Been to many places in the area, this was one of the best experiences. Ordered calamari, fresh sea-bass, Greek salad and a few traditional sides. Amazing experience. This is my first time doing a review ever.
Wonderful service. Food was outstanding. Definitely try this restaurant. Better than Greek Town with huge portions
We love this place! Great service. Great food. Extensive menu. We always have the best time here...always a memorable visit. We highly recommend Thassos.
We held our mom's 70th Birthday celebration! The service and accommodations were outstanding. The food was outstanding. They went over and beyond to make my job easier as the hostess of the party. Many of the guests said they would come back and enjoy the other and many entrees they offer. Thank you for a very memorable moment for a lifetime.
We were there before the dinner crowd on a Saturday (around 4:30 pm) and it was very quiet. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and we will definitely go back again! The only minor complaint is that it was a bit on the chilly side but we were in the bar area near the front door so it may have been due to that.
We had a great family dinner plenty of space for large groups and food was very good. Love the Greek chicken and soup. We recommended this restaurant and had friends visit thassos next day.
Food and service were very good. It was half price bottles of wine that night and server suggested it would be a better deal than by the glass. Appetizer and soup came out nice and hot. Food arrived luke warm but when brought to servers attention there was no problem getting it redone. Got the combination plate to try several dishes. All was flavorful and well done.
Our friends and family greatly enjoyed our dinner. The food was authentic and delicious. The servers were very attentive, providing excellent service. We look forward to returning soon!
Always a great experience. Food and service always on point!
Food, service, music all very good. Very authentic Greek food. Will definitely go back. Southwest suburbs needed an authentic Greek resturant. Plenty of parking.
Thassos Authentic Greek restaurant has emerged as the Best Greek restaurant in all of IL.
The food is phenomenal and they offer a diverse wine list for any palette. Besides there main dining area
they have a vibrant bar seen with great cocktails. If you haven't been here yet you are missing out on a true dining experience.
PS On Friday and Saturday evenings they have live music entertainment that starts at 8pm.
Thanks Leonidas !!!
Came there on the New Year’s Day. Food was good, service was excellent. Even though she was running the whole floor, waitress was a delight
Good Greek Food But Bad Service: As soon as me and my wife walk in the door we were greeted rudely. The first thing out of the owner/manager is How did you get a reservation when I informed Open Table to block all reservations. Then when I showed me my reservation he said fine and wanted to seat us at the bar section of the restaurant. So I told him a table and started talking in Greek. Then the waiter came and was also rude, to make a long story short we felt we were being rush all through out our dinner. Even when the Saganaki arrived to our table the waiter did not bother putting in the show. All they keep saying is that they have a big party arriving for New Year Celebration. I in turn told them what do you think me and my wife is trying to do here. They did not even offer us what they gave in their dessert menu. I do have to say that their Greek Food is good compared to the other Greek restaurant around my area. But I don’t think that we will not be dining at this restaurant again.
Fantastic flavors! Real Greek cuisine with Greek wine is an unforgettable combination. This has become one of our favorite restaurants.
Got to the restaurant near 5PM on a Saturday and the place was nearly empty but by the time we left it was almost full. Would suggest a reservation but the staff are so nice bet they would try to fit you in. Had the skordalia which was lightly garlicky and perfect with the sesame bread. The gyro appetizer was generously portioned with tender, juicy gyro meat and a tzatziki sauce that was memorable. The fried zucchini were lightly battered and not greasy. Had both the baklava and the galactoboureko - both were authentic and not overly sweet; we could not decide which we liked better. We took home two gyros dinners because the meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The wait staff were polite, knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely recommend this gem of a restaurant in the Southwest suburbs. We will be back again!
Sat upon arrival. Nice decor. Music a bit loud and gets redundant at times. Waiter was excellent and servers very efficient and prompt. Saganaki was delicious as well sesame bread. Lamb was good but 1 was raw. Sides of potatoes and rice were uninspired. Sample platter was ok and overall food could have been served hotter. Rice pudding was a bit soupy. Overall good prices for the food
Very good food and service.
We were greeted with a smile! The waiter was attentive. The wine suggested in place of the Pinot noir was awful. I changed to a dirty martini with olives. It came like 10 minutes with no olives! I'm pretty sure it had vermouth and olive juice. It was like they dumped the shake tin leftovers in it. It was bad. Costed $10.
Saganaki and grilled octupus apps were delicious. I ordered the Greek platter. The pastitsio and moussaka was over cooked. The dolmades were amazing. The Greek potatoes were pretty good too. I didn't stay for dessert. I didn't ask to switch my drink.
I would try it again but only after they work out the kinks.
Great food! Service is steadily getting better. Hope they make it!
The number of selections was very good, including wines. They have a few wines from Greece mixed in with other countries. We started with the flaming saganaki and spanakopita for appetizers. Both were very good. The spanakopita came in a large square instead of individual filo dough ‘pillows’. Flakey with a good mixture of spinach and feta cheese.
We had the avgolemeno soup with was hot, flavorful and a good balance of lemon and chicken flavors. For our entrees we had the roast leg of lamb which was tender and flavorful, and the 5 lamb chops. The grilled lamb chops were tasty well priced. The Greek style potatoes were also very good.
For desert we had the Sokolatina, chocolate cake, which was large and very good. Four people could split the cake it was so large. Overall it was a very good experience and we intend to return with our friends.
What a Fantastic Greek restaurant. From the moment you arrive you are treated like you are family.
The food is Awesome and they offer several items that very few restaurants have , such as Baby Goat
which is offered on Mondays and Tuesdays. They offer a well put together Wine List and Specialty cocktails.
This is a Family owned restaurant and you will always be greeted by Nick with a smiling face.
They also have a very nice / comfortable bar area.
Fantastic food! Best greek Ive had so far. Definitely coming back very soon. I loved the saganaki and the lemon rice soup. Everyone was friendly.
I ordered dolmades for an appetizer. I enjoyed them.
They weren't as good as some that I've had, made from my Greek family and friends, but that's usually the case.
I had moussaka, fasolakia and avgolemono soup. Neither the soup or the Moussaka would I order again. The fasolakia was good. My friend was disappointed with her chicken breast. She said it was dry. She loved her Greek potatoes though. We also ordered a Greek salad. It was fresh. The salad dressing was not great, in my opinion.
With so many great options for dining, I don't plan to return here. I tried it!
I loved my dining experience at Thassos. Loved everything - service. food, professionalism. Loved them. Going back.
Great authentic greek food. Will be going back.
Food was good but ambiance wasn’t
Great food and atmosphere! Also enjoyed the wine tasting, very good Greek wines. My favorite menu items are the loukaniko, grilled octopus, pork souvlakia and lamb chops. Also good prices compared to comparable restaurants. I recommend this restaurant and will be going back!
This was my third visit, once for lunch and twice for dinner. I will go back again next week for lunch. Food is delicious, service is very good, nice ambiance. I tell all my friends how much I like this restaurant. So glad we have a nice Greek restaurant here in our neighborhood so we don't have to drive downtown to Greektown.
Fantastic dining experience in an Authentic Greek restaurant. Very nice selection of wine to go alone with the food.
Very nice neighborhood gem. Great Greek food with very fast service.
We had6 appetizers for our dinner. The saganaki was the best we have ever had, anywhere. The hard greek cheese was overly salty, but came with olives. The meatballs were HUGE and I should have ordered them in tom sauce. The shrimp were very good sized, and the gyro appetizer had a lot of meat. We also got the chicken kabobs, and although tasty, they seemed a little light on the chicken. Overall a very good dinner.
Love the restaurant and the service but most importantly the food and the large portions. Truly authentic. We have visited several times and enjoyed the food and service every time.
A real neighborhood gem. The good was great and the service excellent.
I sure hope they stay around.
