Amazing food and the best staff! Highly recommend!!

Great tacos and basil soup.. large plate portions.. service was ok.. we reserved for when they open.. so they ran kinda behind with online orders and table orders.. got busy real fast.. but food was hot and delicious.. friendly and accommodating. Crab naan also a great starter

Best indian restaurant!

We were visiting Philly this weekend and always like to try new Indian restaurants whenever we travel. This restaurant did not disappoint. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The outdoor setup was really cute with strings of lights hanging around the tables. The food was absolutely phenomenal and the presentation was beautiful. They even offered us plates and silverware for our leftovers because they knew we were staying in a hotel. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal while staying nearby at the Four Seasons. This is not a fancy place. Perhaps it was once as beautiful as its website but unfortunately the restaurant was fed donated by rioters last summer and the owners are still recovering.

Had a delightful dining experience here, waiter was very nice, atmosphere was quiet and so welcoming. The food was so delicious. I love Indian food, they had me at hello..I will definitely come back for more.

Have eaten takeout from this place many times so when they finally reopened indoor dining I had to try it freshly served and Thanal did not disappoint!

Thanal was amazing. Great modern atmosphere with a hints of Indian all around as well. Samosas 10/10, Garlic naan 9/10, chicken tikka masala 9/10, korma 8/10. Overall all the food was delicious and I can’t wait to go back soon!

I live in NY and my daughter attends college in Philadelphia. Whenever I am in Philly visiting, we dine in this restaurant. The food is wonderful. It’s one of our absolute favorite restaurants, and we are foodies who love to cook and go out to eat.

We had dinner here Saturday January 23. The Covid pandemic is in full swing and we don’t normally dine inside restaurants consequently, but we had no choice. There were only 3 tables of diners, and I felt safe. This restaurant is a treasure and I hope they are able to survive!!

The food is always excellent.

They don't actually have outdoor dining. When my girlfriend and I went there for dinner we told them that we had a reservation for two for outdoor dining. The host told us that they weren't doing that tonight to which I showed him the email confirmation showing that I had an outdoor reservation. His response was "we should really change that." I will not be going back.

It was our first time trying Indian food. The food was great. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The environment was very relaxing. I would recommend this restaurant.

I made a reservation to dine in because both their website and reservation system said that they were having dine in customers. As I was on my way out the door, less than half an hour to the reservation time, they called me to tell me that they were not doing dine in. I complained that they waited until the last minute to call and they were completely unapologetic to the point of stopping short of telling me “deal with it”, that was the attitude of that phone call. Service lacks and attention to those obvious details was abysmal. I’m sure their food might be ok, but I never got the chance to try it because of their poor customer service. Not sure if I would try them in the future, probably not

Thanal food hit the spot so well for us. The ambience and friendly staff along with some nice music (only on weekends I believe) were perfect. Being from India, I'm rarely impressed even with places that claim to be authentic. This was an exception and I highly recommend them.

Thanal is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in all of Philly! Their appetizers are amazing, and they have the best Gobi Muncharian I've had in the states!

They never stated on the website , that they had no inside dining ! After paying to park and the rain falling . Stepped in to find the place not doing service inside !

Food is good, service is good. We had a very nice dinner with perfect weather. Drinks are reasonably priced. Crab Naan was ok - very little crab. I had firecracker shrimp (think that’s the name) and it was very good. My husband had the lamb shank which he thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, the food is good, the value is good, and sitting outside on a nice night, we had an enjoyable evening.

Very delicious food and service was on point, attentive and friendly. The pricing is extremely reasonable. There was 4 in our party. We ordered 6 drinks, 3 sharable size appetizers, and 4 sharable entrees with additional sides ordered. This only came to $68 each and that includes the tip. Food is very, very good. Tandoori salmon, Tikka chicken, and lamb chops are delicious. We will return.

I am a New Yorker whose kid attends college in Philly. My favorite part of visiting is having dinner with my son at this restaurant. It’s fantastic. Inventive and beautiful food that is well priced. My only complaint is that it’s not closer to my home!!
