Clam Cakes (4) & Chowder
The view of Bristol harbor and sunset is fabulous, food and service was very good.
You cannot beat the setting and the clam cakes. Overlooking Bristol Harbor is a real treat. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and efficient.
Great restaurant and live music! Best clam chowder in New England!
Big disappointment. We had made reservations to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. We were seated 20 minutes late...understand that it is busy on Saturday nights. Servers seemed overwhelmed and were rushed to keep up with all the full tables. Took too long for drinks, then ordered appetizers. Those took over 30 minutes for a simple hummus plate. We saw no meals being served anywhere so became concerned that the kitchen was overwhelmed. Sever took a while to come back to take our order, but at that point we decided to skip the meal, as it would have taken forever to be served. Can't blame the server, but feel for the challenge for the management/owner's in finding help in this COVID environment.
Also - fire the band, the fat guy with grey beard was loud and full of F-bombs during the break. What's up with that for your image? Really made for a sour evening. Not sure we'll be back for a while.
Overall good experience
Excellent venue. My wife and I just had a quick fresh cod sandwich and it was so flaky and not over battered. Service was excellent as well. 2 thumbs up!
Great food and service
It's all about location. That is what you are paying for.
I have been here many times, and was very satisfied. However this time I was very unhappy with the food. The swordfish was very salty and I’ve had better salmon at
the “99”. This was a birthday lunch for my sisters and it was disappointing. 😞
Just little things that kept it from being great. The hostess gave us nothing but drink menus. The sodas were flat & watery. The lobster roll was huge but the seasoning took away from the flavor of the lobster. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed ourselves. A little pricey for a limited amount of options. I'd definitely try it again but my husband probably wouldn't.
Went to dinner with friends. The place was busy the service was a little slow. We had the nachos to start they were very good. I had the steak tips and they were big in size and cooked well. Overall a great night the only negative is the parking situation.
Entrees were very good, although fries were not warm. Clam cakes were horrible, doughy and no sign of clams
Have always had very good experiences at the Thames Waterside. This time was very good with upstairs music, good servicer and apps and a killer view and setting. This time main courses were a little cool or cold or undercooked, maybe due to the shortage of help these days, but we will be coming back and overall we love this place!!
Sitting by the water was nice. Wedding was going on the upper deck which was loud.
Good variety of food...My husband loved the seafood and I enjoyed the burger!
Great fresh food. Buffalo wings surprisingly sweet but in a good way. Fish and salads were very fresh.
One of my favorite places! Great food on the waterside.
Wonderful view south … we could see the fireworks all the way in Newport. The server was exceptional. I wish I remembered her name. We were three ex long time restaurant servers. We felt well cared for- rarity in pandemic times.
We went here for a family celebration and it didn’t disappoint! Food and atmosphere were excellent!
Get together with old friends.
We are always satisfied with our orders, ambience is great for families and noise is bearable due to an event was happening at the time of our visit. Overall we highly recommend this place. Food and service is always consistent.
Good was good, but service was slow.
Another great night out at Thames! Harry was excellent as usual! Great food and cocktails!
Beautiful location, great service, and the food was delicious!!
Delivers on what you'd expect from a waterside restaurant! Great experience and food.
Server did not come to our table for 20 min. Wrong fries served with meal. Second glass of wine came just before check. Saw a big fat rat running around. Such a bummer. I’ve been there before and sat at bar and it was excellent.
Overall the view and atmosphere was great. Service was okay, everything was fine until our appetizer and one of our main entrees came out at the same time (my boyfriends came out first) he sat there waiting for mine to come (30 minutes later) my haddock comes out, around 845 pm. I start to eat it and noticed something off but was starving so finished my meal. Later that night, I was violently ill. I have never been sick from fish in my life. I would not recommend this place just for that reason.
Disappointed that many items on website menu were not available at the restaurant and haven’t been for quite some time. Menu update on web advised
I had the chicken saltimbocca. Very small breast of chicken with overcooked string beans and undercooked oven roast potatoes (a bit crunchy). Mt wife had a Greek salad. The salad was good but the dressing not so good. Great view of the harbor.
There are other places in Bristol, Westport and Southcoast that have equally great water views with excellent cuisine.
Service was very good, our server,Matt, very friendly and attentive.
As always, the food was really good.
You will see us this year.
This is a great location, we enjoy being by the water
Great food and service, beautiful day. Fun band playing at bar
Food was great as always Taylor O was our server and she was the best attentive but not pushy, just a great person
Unhappy with the beer selection but did not hold that against you. Wife had the draft cider which was warmer than it should have been. Found the calamari app thick and rubbery. Definitely not delicate and crispy. Ordered the sesame tuna. the tuna was actually cold to the taste and the lo mein noodles were over-sauced and the sauce was super sweet. Favorite part of the meal was my daughters French fries. An overall disappointment . 4 star location with a 2 star kitchen and bar. Would not rush back to this restaurant
Our friends came from New Jersey for their first visit to Bristol. We took them all around and dined here.
Service was very good , the food was just average except for the fish and chips. The location of course was awesome which is why we chose this venue.
We will go back but for drinks only.
We had a great table near the water. Our waitress was friendly and took care of us well. The food was delicious and reasonably price. Still talking about the huge piece of fish in the fish and chip entree.
Great views, delicious food, attentive staff . . . . .we had a lovely lunch and will be back soon!
The service & food was horrible!!
The waitress rolled her eyes at my mom!!
So sorry not sorry left a crappy tip!!
She was lucky she received anything!!!!!!!!
DO NOT Recommend!!
Great for families.
The location, service and apps were great...main meals not good at all. Would go back for drinks and apps!
