First of all, I wish we had done take out because the food itself wasn’t terrible. The restaurant was. They didn’t ask if we had reservations when we got there, so we seated ourselves. The view was directly over a trash can outside the restaurant that was overflowing and smelly. The waitress was dismissive of us as soon as we indicated we weren’t drinking alcohol. Food was pretty pricy- 18 for an al la carte chicken tikka, and extra for rice and naan. We ordered two naan- one for each of us. One came. Told the waitress there was one, and she acted like there was two and to look under it. There wasn’t. She said she would get another, just a minute. Well, ate our food, finished our food and asked for the check from what I assume was the owner because the waitress hadn’t checked on us again. Asked her to take off the garlic naan as we never got it. She said she told the waitress to tell us it would be a while and “didn’t she tell us?” Apparently it had to be put after the other diners? Makes no sense. She said, it’s coming now. I politely declined and said I was finished and didn’t want it now. She eventually took a naan off he bill (y husbands cheaper plain naan- but at that point I was over it) and then when we paid it was on an iPad with her staring at us for the tip. Super frustrating because the spices were decently balanced and I adore Indian food of all kinds, and had been looking forward to this. Don’t plan on this being a nice dinner, but plan on paying like it is!
Edit: the manager responded falsely and rudely to my review on TripAdvisor, accusing me of “playing it cheap” on vacation, and falsely stating we shared one menu item and got free rice. A) we ordered two al la carte meals because we don’t care for the sides that came in the larger order - which were I believe 18 and 23 each for the al la carte, b) I ordered and paid for rice as a side- which I have never had to do at an Indian restaurant, c) I find it appalling a manager would respond this way.
Made reservations for 12:30 PM. Arrived to find that they don’t even open until 3:00 PM. Really? We can’t update OpenTable with valid operating hours?
The menu provided authentic Indian cusine. The food was tasty and spicy. The restaurant appeared to be understaffed and parking was a huge challenge. We felt the cost was high for the quantity given. We ordered ala carte to share and were charged some of the entree prices.
