Fantastic place for a date with your significant other. We came in late on a Wednesday, was on the quiet side but lovely ambience, super attentive service from Madison, and great, authentic Greek food for a very reasonable price. Special shout out being thoughtful about a menu that includes vegetarian and gluten-free options - very smart.

Would absolutely recommend.

My wife and I are long-term Tribeca residents (we literally live down the block from Thalassa) and enthusiastic foodies. So for us, Thalassa is a neighborhood go-to for dinner, but is a restaurant we would definitely travel to.

The cuisine is very authentic, fish is the speciality of the house (but don’t get me talking about the lamb chops), and the wine list is one of the better Greek selections in NYC—love, love, love the Assyrtiko. The service is consistently impeccable. Our waiter and somm this evening, Madison, really provided white glove service.

And oh by the way, the 3 course tasting menu is a delicious and divine deal that you shouldn’t miss. It would be a sin not to indulge in the yogurt martini for dessert.

extremely attentive staff - waited maybe one minute to be seated & was served complimentary champagne for the "wait". pre-fix menu offered year-round. great service. tastey food. would definitely recommend.

Ten of us were here to celebrate a birthday. We all agreed that this was a great experience. Very tasty food. Pleasant service. Beautiful surroundings. And a great selection on the "restaurant week" menu.

This restaurant used to be a lot better. The dining room ambiance is okay, but it is stuck in the early 2000’s. The staff is nice though they did forget when I said it was my boyfriends birthday. The apps were far better than the entrees of snapper and branzino which were tasteless and everything on the plate had the same coloring. The desserts are not to be bothered with. Crepes were good enough though had a blob of Greek yogurt on the side and the parfait of yogurt and fruit was unappetizing.

Overall, the menu is filled with excellent choices and we ordered both on and off the restaurant week menu (restaurant week menu is a good deal at these prices). Both entrees (lavraki and crab stuffed red snapper) were excellent, as were the two appetizers (octopus salad and horiatiki salad). The only limiting factor was dessert because that menu is weighted towards traditional Greek desserts, which, while very tasty, may not be as broad a dessert selection as some would like (we ordered the bougatsa which tasted great, but was a little different than the bougatsa you get on the islands in Greece). Service was excellent throughout. I ordered a custom drink from the bar and it was excellent. Water was filled and plates were emptied seamlessly. Beautiful rooms both upstairs and downstairs.

Overall, our experience with Thalassa was that the food is meticulously prepared, well conceived and great tasting. It is a refreshing departure from the concept at many places that more butter and more salt make something taste better, which often works, but sometimes the food gets very heavy. This restaurant’s approach seems to be that very fresh food combined with thoughtful choice combinations makes for great cuisine. And we wholeheartedly agree.

This is our new favorite restaurant in NYC. Highly recommended.

Went with my friend for lunch during restaurant week. We were both happy with the food, ambiance & service. It was a very enjoyable experience.
