Excellent seafood in one of the more spacious, elegant dining rooms in lower Manhattan, along with top shelf service.

This is our fourth time at Thalassa and we continue to be impressed. Madison, our server was attentive but carefully non-intrusive. His wine suggestion was spot on with what we were looking for. The Greek wines here are very good and a very good value.
We started with Seafood Saganaki and Keftes (Small meatballs). Both great! Main course was Seafood Thalassina and broiled Royal Dorado from which they remove the center bone but there are still some small bones. Our only disappointment was with dessert. The baklava was almost dry rather than the amount of honey I expected and the Galaktoboureko didn't have much citrus flavor to it. A nice evening! We'll be back.

Food is overpriced. I ordered an appetizer as my main course and they charged me double the price after they promised it wouldn't be double. The peasant salad which was tomatoes, cucumbers, and small piece of cheese was $22- outrageous!

This was my second visit in the last 10 days; I first discovered it on a first date, then came back with my friends this past weekend. The place is visually stunning when you walk in, and the energy and vibe of the space was great both times. We all really enjoyed our food and actually stayed for hours eating, drinking and laughing! I also bought their branded olive oil this time - it's really one of the best I've tasted. Service was also prompt and attentive; it's def. a winner in my book!

Food was good, service left something to be desired. When you order two starters and two main courses and then receive one of each choice as main courses, you are somewhat surprised. Having been told that it would be made up, I am pretty sure that we paid for everything.
As this was part of my 70th birthday celebrations, I was more than disappointed. There is no way that I could ever recommend anyone to come here. These views will also be represented on TripAdvisor.

The food was ok but the service was so poor that 2000 characters couldn't begin to list all of their faults. The manager and the chef seemed not to care about our discontent and offered not even an apology. For a restaurant that bills itself as high end it has a very long way to go. All places have a bad night but the lack of care on their part will keep us from ever going ever again. I would stay far away from this place.

Thalassa is a gorgeous restaurant with the freshest seafood, lamb and many other choices from their menu. The bar has a great selection of Japanese whisky and single-malt scotches, as well the usual standards. A guitarist was playing music in the bar area on the night I ate there, and you could still have a nice, quiet conversation. Thalassa is a great place for special events -- I have hosted several through the years, and have never been disappointed.

We have been to Thalassa several times in 2017 and each time it was a dining pleasure. There is a wonderful wine list with Greek specialities and the seafood choices are plentiful. Service is efficient, attentive and not over-bearing. A wonderful dining experience which we will partake of frequently.

A disappointing experience. At least 15 minutes for the bottle of white wine to arrive at the table. And after all that time, the bottle was at room temperature. If the restaurant knows the wine is warm, why on earth would you uncork it and put it in my glass. The appetizers were very good. The main course fish had an unacceptable quantity of bones. After three hours we just had to leave. We could never return or recommend to anyone. Perhaps they were short staffed. Unacceptable experience.

A real disaster of an experience and if we hadn't been with friends we would have left. So I am basing this review on service and poor decision-making of management - not on food (which was very good).
They were hosting a wedding reception downstairs - so unbelievably loud and raucous that it made all conversation impossible (we were upstairs, along with a few other unfortunates). Two Advil which I took midway didn't help. Service was, needless to say, less than poor.
We had been many years ago and never anticipated this type of situation. They should have closed the restaurant "for a private event " but greed takes over. I doubt we will return.
Many places have great food and Advil is not required. SHAME on you.

This is the fifth or sixth time I've eaten here, in this instance a family party. In the past, I've had excellent dining experiences. This time the food - mostly fish - was excellent as usual, but the service has, unfortunately, gone way downhill. It was confused and disorganized. The bar tender barely spoke English and made one of the drinks completely contrary to the guest's request; one of the sides we ordered was completely forgotten and the server, who also acted as the sommelier, was really not familiar with many of the wines. In general, while there were plenty of staff around, there didn't seem to be anyone effectively coordinating them. Sadly, I'm not likely to return.

The customer service was simply phenomenal. I had appetizers and dessert at the bar, and will definitely be back. There are lots of spots to eat in this area, but good customer service is what gains repeat visitors! Good job!

The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the special bar drinks, the cucumber/mastic infused vodka martini. The fresh fish display was amazing they had many different types of seafood from around the world my favorite was the monster king shrimps they was the size of the arm. (I took photos to show to my family back home). My favorite was the sea scallops wrapped in filo, grilled octopus, tomato salad w/ feta cheese and the whole grilled Bronzino was amazing cooked to perfection. I will be coming back.

It is a real gem in the TriBeCa neighborhood. Fresh seafood, creative side dishes and traditional Greek small plates make this a healthy and delicious dining experience.
