Modern Thai near Union Square.
Loved the ambiance and creative takes on Thai flavors. The burger was outstanding, and the fried squash chips were unbelievable. Get them.
Great food, great service, wonderful atmosphere. Go!
Food at the restaurant is really delicious and very well priced, especially for NYC. My one comment is that service the day we were there was really slow especially given that there were very few guests for lunch.
Brunch was delicious but service was pretty erratic and slow.
Excellent food, amazing dishes and quick service. However, disappointed that did not have all the dishes shown on the menu. Prices in the lobster are not really described in menu, always make sure you double check it.
Very good service and wonderful food
Delicious food, noisy but a good experience! We were seated right away etc etc
Food was great as usual--Green Curry the best and I also got to taste the flat noodles-delicious.
So I had the boozey brunch, which was fairly good. They kept the drinks coming which was nice. The food tasted good and they didn't rush us. HOWEVER, they logged me as a no show, despite me saying my name quite clearly when I first arrived. THEN, I just checked my credit card statement, and they took the liberty of rounding UP past the total I put on the receipt which is something that I feel is SO egregious. You just don't do that?!! I won't ever come back here again.
Second visit here and it did not disappoint. It was every bit as good as the first time - even with the name change. Tried different menu items including lobster dumplings. Terrific food and really a moderately priced dinner for two. Good cocktails and also wine and beer. Will be back to a really good neighborhood spot! Don’t pass this spot up.
Staff VERY accommodating and gracious. Varied Thai menu made it interesting.
I'm not sure what happened? The name changed and the quality has gone down. The Zucchini Pad thai was still great!, but the Green Curry was a total miss. Super watery and the chicken was cooked so much is was rubbery and bland. I hope this was a fluke, as this was one of my go to's in the area.
Wonderful atmosphere and cozy decor with great happy hour specials (all cocktails $6-7) with (in my humble opinion) the best Thai in the city. The food is authentic, fresh, and modern - think zoodle pad thai - and definitely not your usual run-of-the-mill kinda greasy takeout place. If you can, definitely dine-in! Wonderful atmosphere and cozy decor. If you're there 5-7, definitely try the appetizer platter for two to sample different Thai flavors and their pomegranate mojito. All in all, a great place - my favorite Thai restaurant in the city!
Excellent zucchini pad Thai!
I was getting together with a college friend whom I had not seen in 35 years. He was visiting NYC on business & loves Asian (Thai) food. Reviews in Zagat & elsewhere depicted this restaurant as out of this world, so I thought "yes!" I've lived in NYC for 38 years, so was excited. Sorry, but I was underwhelmed. I should have gone to Jaiya.
Best drunken noddles I ever tasted in my life! I ordered it with vegetables, it was fresh and crispy. Amazed!!!!
I LOVED this place. Delicious food. Great happy hour deals. Will definitely return.
The quality of food and service was very good on this visit. The pork shoulder and belly was delicious. Reminded me of the cowboy hat lady in Chiang Mai pork. I would argue Chef Hong's sauce is better than even that. Service was a complete turn around from my last visit. Attentive, friendly, and just the right level of interaction.
This was our second time here. First visit, the food and service was excellent. The Squash Pad Thai is amazing. Second time, service was spotty and disappointingly, the chicken wings we ordered arrived barely warm. We asked for a replacement, which turned into a frustrating back and forth with the waitress. Ultimately, the manager removed the cost of the wings from the bill and they tried to fix the order. Overall, second experience was not as great and had we not enjoyed it so much the first time, we would not have returned again. We'll give it another chance at some point and hope the experience is more like our first visit.
Good food, good ambiance. Papaya and zucchini pad Thai are 👌🏻👌🏻
Fresh, inventive, and delicious food, including refreshing drinks. Will definitely go again.
Went for lunch with a couple of friends. It was very quiet. We were thrilled that we could be accommodated for vegetarian and gluten free needs for one of our guests. All the food was delicious and portions were fair and filling. We had the green curry, the spicy drunken noodles and the zucchini pad thai. It was all delicious but the starch portion of each dish was a bit small for price. The accompanying veggies and proteins were great. Coconut juice was addictive. We did not have room for dessert after sharing two appetizers. Service was good but a bit distracted considering we were one of two tables in the entire restaurant.
Late Sunday night dinner was the way to go. There was no wait and our food came fast and hot. Everything from cocktails to presentation to flavor was wonderful.
Everything was excellent. Our only comment is that the portion size is a bit small for the price.
Love this place! Food is my favorite in all of New York City.
Meeting friends that we didn’t see since 2 years.
Food was delicious; however, portions are pretty small for the price you pay. If you're ravenous, their portion sizes will not be enough.
Terrific Food. Fun! Would definitely go back and tell friends!
Had a great experience. Took advantage of their happy hour specials. Our favourite part of dinner was dessert. Poached pear was delish.. And their goat cheese, cheesecake was to die for, I savoured every last bite. Visiting from Toronto and the next time I'm in NYC I'll be back!
Great food, fresh, tasty, all around my favorite Thai in the city. Ambiance is a little loud and service seemed a bit disorganized but ultimately a great meal and will continue coming back
Terrible service - rude, rushed food, forced gratuity. Restaurant was freezing, we ate with coats on the whole time.
Really fresh and interesting food. Would go again and recommend to friends.
Over priced for fair food...portions not particularly large. All in all, a disappointment.
Delicious meals, friendly server. Will definitely go again!
I came here for a friend's birthday on a Monday night. Happy hour is until 7pm for appetizers ($6-$15) and drinks ($5-$7). For drinks, we all ordered pear lychee sangrias ($7). For food, we ordered the appetizer platter for 2 (mushroom spring rolls, chiang mai fries, green salad, grilled calamari), chicken wings, red curry with chicken, lamb roti pot pie, and zucchini pad thai with shrimp. The portions were smaller than expected but the food tasted great and was actually spicy. I really liked the chiang mai pumpkin/sweet potato fries with the curry sauce, the chicken wings, and the zucchini pad thai - the dishes were interesting and very tasty. The only reason I wouldn't give this place 4 stars was because I didn't like sitting at the communal table since the seats were stools with no backs so people keep bumping into you throughout your whole meal. Also, service was pretty slow though, took a long time to get any waiter to help. Just FYI, they automatically charged 20% tip even though we only had a party of 5 people.
This was a cute little place - great ambiance. I ordered the salmon. Once I received it, I wasn’t sure if I’d like it - it was a small piece of salmon and looked very bland. The salmon was tasty! However it was a really small piece and I ended up having to order an appetizer. I had the chicken wings - I was not a fan.
Can’t say enough nice things about our dinner at Ngam. Highly recommend this place and will absolutely come back next time we’re in the city
Our party of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our delicious meal here and even ordered another main dish when we were finished because it was all so good!
Start with the “French Fries”.....yummy fried veggies with 2 dipping sauces.
Ngam is simply terrific. Once you get by the snotty hostess at the front desk that thinks she is a gift to humanity, this spot is special.
Appetizers are unique and full of flavor and the entrees are great - especially the duck! Drinks also are creative and they have a good selection of wines by bottle and glass as well.
We will keep coming back to Ngam over and over, just looking past the greeting.
Everything was very nice, though as the crowd thinned out (10:30 on a Saturday night), the service got pretty poky. Took a while for a second round of food to arrive - 30 minutes?
