Thaimee Table (Formerly Ngam)
What Insiders Are Saying
Modern Thai near Union Square.
This place used to be awesome. Our favorite Thai restaurant in New York. The menu has been slashed in half and the portions shrunk (the $20 serving of pork was probably 3 ounces). Very disappointing
It’s good Thai food but not much selection and classical dishes are not available: mango and sticky rice or Tom Yum soup.
We were first greeted by the chef, who was extremely friendly. Our waiter was not as welcoming, and rolled his eyes when we asked to order something not on the menu (a Thai-style fried egg! Is it really that uncommon?). Overall, the food was great (pad Thai on the sweet side, so ask for dried chili flakes on the side to bring a little heat). I’d be back again if I can guarantee we won’t be paired with that server!
Still the best Pad Thai in town. Our group had several other dishes as well and everyone liked what they ordered. Also loved the special cocktails. The service was outstanding!
Nice food and nice people!
We loved everything about the food. The appetizers and main dishes were fresh and flavorful. The pomegranate mojito was delicious. I would highly recommend this place if you enjoy Thai food. We are extremely disappointed with our waiter! He was not very attentive and when he brought the bill said, “if you could please leave your tip in cash that would be great.” Hmmmm. The other waiters were great, I think we just got the bad one that night. I would still go back despite the service because the food was so good.
The restaurant was wonderful! I brought a friend of mine who had never eaten never Thai food.. she LOVED it!! Will definitely go back again!!
We have read the owners book True Thai and the recipes are excellent. This is our second visit to this restaurant. The first visit was a excellent both for the food and service. This visit was the opposite experience. For example we tried to order red wine and we were told they were out of red wine. The menu has been reduced substantially and the food we ordered had obviously been cooked the day before and reheated before being served. There appears to be no experienced manager in the restaurant now. This will be our last visit I am sorry to say
I’m not sure how this restaurant has managed to stay in business, especially with such terrible customer service. I made reservations a month in advance for a friend’s birthday brunch for 3/24 via Open Table. I emailed on 2/14 to make reservations requesting afternoon tea service. No one responded. Then I DMed on Instagram on 2/25. Again, no response. Finally, I called the restaurant 3/9. Again, no response, so I gave up on the afternoon tea idea but knew there was still brunch to look forward to. Now, here’s the kicker... We get to the restaurant at noon today as per my Open Table reservation (and email reminder on 3/23), and the restaurant is CLOSED! In my frustration, I called the restaurant that evening after the fiasco and asked to speak with a manager. A man told me he would speak to the owner and get back to me within 2 weeks. Here we are now in the 3rd week of April!
I can’t imagine the food being any good at a place that can’t even get their reservation system correct or bother to respond to customer inquiries. With a million restaurants in NYC, do yourself a favor and go to one that actually wants your business and will make the effort to do so.
One of the best Thai restaurants in Manhattan, food is very yummy loved the old schook pad thai (best one ive ever had) and ive had quite a few! the papaya salad was delicious too! I def will be going back when im in the city and crave some Thai food!
Poor service. We had to wait for a long time for our food to arrive and when it did our waiter got our order wrong, so we had to wait again. I ordered the green curry which tasted bland and not worth the price. My husband ordered the pork belly, which he said was actually good. We will not go back to this place again. There are other Thai restaurants in the city that are worth the price for their food and service.
Super good food. Great spicy selection. Try the Spring rolls and the Crispy Pork
The food was excellent! We ordered the Lobster Dumplings, "Yum Jin Gai" - Northern Thai Style Rustic Chicken Soup and Old School Pad Thai. The lobster dumplings were really a treat, the soup was very good be prepared for some spice and the Pad Thai was the best I have ever had. I would recommend this restaurant to friends!
Horrible. Our waiter was very rude. We ordered chickpea fries and coconut juice and didn’t receive either. I asked for non-spicy soup, and he did not give it to me. I asked what was not a spicy option and he rudely said, “look at our menu, everything is spicy here.” Also, halfway through the meal he stopped attending to us. We never received water and had to take carafes from other tables because the service was so poor. I have never had a more unpleasant experience in my life.
I have been disappointed by my visits post name change to Thaimee Table. Tonight it took a really long time and the pace was really off. The kitchen seemed overwhelmed and the two cooks whirled around while the 6 waitstaff paced around anxiously. Food flavors were off and seemed dull in comparison to the past. The green papaya salad tasted like molasses and the green curry lacked luster. The other curry options are gone since the menu was changed and even the famous pad Thai was flavorless. Don’t think we’ll be back
The table they gave us was kind of shaky. The coconut water was premade and a little too sweet. The food and service were really good and the whole restaurant looked cute.
Delicious and very fun atmosphere!
All was good except for the people at front count who were not friendly.
I liked this place. This is more upscale than your standard Thai take out, and has some creative dishes. It's a really nice middle ground between cheap and expensive dinner. You don't feel crowded, which is a nice change of pace.
The food was delicious - fresh flavors and such comfort food! We tried the fries and then each of us tried a different entree. My friends and I couldn't stop trying each other's dishes - it was that good.
We enjoyed our dinner Friday night and went back on Saturday for the cooking class. The class is highly recommended!!!
Food is not as good as it used to be and they were out of the first 3 things I tried to order. Would still get noodles from here, but definitely not what it used to be as Ngam.
enjoy coming here before a performance at Classic Stage. Adore the chicken wings and usually get two portions. Can't wait for the pomelo salad to again be available and no spare ribs available this time so a bit
disappointed. and the service is hit and run.
It was great and the food was delicious.
We had a great time here. Despite the large group of people they had, Thaimee took care of us. We definitely recommend and will be back.
Great experience, great atmosphere, perfect for our larger group!
Delicious food and great service. Successful Date Night.
I made a poor choice in ordering the non-spicy Pad See Ew: it was not only mild but literally lukewarm, and the slivers of chicken were tough. I envied my friend’s spicy tofu variation and will try that next time. The staff couldn’t be nicer: I arrived a half-hour early and they let me sit and wait in peace. I will definitely go back and be more adventurous with the menu
We had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant- Rhe food was amazing so as the Cocktails.
Please notice that a 20% tip is included in the bill.
Was a favorite of ours, however after dining experience Saturday will not come again. Food portions have been cut and yet prices have increased. It seems we are not the only people who are unhappy, we left after 7pm and most of the tables were empty.
The restaurant has a very nice vibe with wood tables and industrial feel. It is very noisy though and tables are very close together. The food is good but I didn't think it was different than any other Thai restaurant. Typical menu but with a nicer presentation.
My noodles were
Service was slow
Food was ok
Went to this place back when it was called Ngam and it was delicious. Came back a few years later (when back in NYC) and it's a great as ever. Definitely worth visiting if you like Thai food.
Always a great choice regardless of the situation.
Staff was very accommodating when my guests were late. Excellent food with great flavor and heat.
Excellent "surf and turf" platter
We ordered chicken Pad Thai and received shrimp Pad Thai, ate it anyway and was good.
I've been coming to ngam for years. I really liked it. Thaimee Table is supposedly the same owners but changed its name for business reasons. The food just didn't taste very good.
Delicious meal and a great relaxed environment. Loved the pad thai, one of the best I have ever had. Gluten free and delicious!
We love Thaimee! It's a perfect place to feel like you're somewhere really special, without having to completely empty your wallet for a unique experience. Their cocktails are some of the best I've ever had, and their food is always a delight.
