Our first ever dine-in restaurant! Thaï Express is a new take on traditional Thaï Cuisine. Packed full of flavour, with unique twists and fusions based on your favourite Thai dishes! We offer a whole new extensive menu and dining experience, whilst sticking to our roots with our traditional open kitchen. With Halal, Gluten-free, Vegetarian and Vegan options there is a variety for everyone to enjoy. Customers can choose a protein and then add spice levels based on a preference from mild to very spicy.     Food was okay, not the best thai food I have eaten but not the worst as well. Servers were really nice and food came in just a few minutes after ordering. Their tom kha soup has noodles in it which was weird and definitely one of my least favourite food items in there.

    Although the food was delicious, the person serving us wasn’t great. Initially when my friend arrived she was told we didn’t have a booking, but still got a seat). I arrived and he came over to ask what we wanted, I asked if we could have a few more minutes and he rolled his eyes, sighed and walked off. We ordered. My food came first but my friend’s didn’t show up. When asked he asked again what she ordered and said it would be two minutes, he went back to the area where it was cooked, likely to place the order. It came as I was about half way finished. We asked for crackers (to tide my friend over). When we finished we were asked straight away if we wanted the bill. My friend said could we not order desserts? He rolled his eyes, sighed again and brought the menus back over. We decided not to get anything as felt rushed and thought we could get something else, elsewhere. When we told him we would just like the bill the same eye roll and sigh happened. At the end my friend asked if they needed the table (despite the restaurant not being busy). He said no, and that the restaurant is open until 10.30 - stay as long as we want (but felt this was sarcastic). Like I said, food was delish, but not impressed with the service at all. Felt really uncomfortable, so unlikely to be back. Which is a shame.

    It's my 3rd time dining here and this place never disappoints. Highly reccomend the booths as they're amazing for privacy. The food is excellent with plenty of vegeterian and vegan options. The thairacha tofu bites are my absolute favorite.

    We arrived for a date night. Seated fast & order was taken. Within 10mins our food arrived. It was brilliant & worth the money! The service was fast & polite. We will deffo be back!

    The food was really flavoursome, but the Service was lacking. Our meals arrived separately, with no one coming near us for drinks refills. We were wanting to order dessert as well, but no one came near us so we paid the bill and left.

    Don't go here. Just don't. There are many good Thai restaurants in Edinburgh. This is not one. The food we had was poor. Especially the soggy coating on the fish, and the cardboard texture crackers. A waste of £47.

    We were sat in an individual booth up a set of stairs and it was lovely and private. Food was excellent, very tasty and served quickly. Staff were pleasant. Felt it was slightly overpriced for what it was.

    The restaurant staff were attentive at start but as soon as we got our food we were forgotten about. We would have bought quite a few more drinks. We tried to get there attention several times and in the end just ended up getting up to get the bill to go somewhere else for more drinks.

    The papaya salad was an insult to thai food and the stir fried basil was very oily,also it 3 asks to get the fried egg I had ordered at the start ..overall not impressed

    Sat at a dirty table in a booth. We were then forgotten about by the serving staff. One member of staff did realise that we hadn’t been attended and also cleaned the table. We were than offered menus quite abruptly like it was our fault we had been forgotten. Food was average. Really had to try and get the staffs attention for any kind of service. Have been before and not experienced this kind of poor service.

    The service was very slow: we were still waiting for food an hour after arriving, and there was a long delay between people's main courses arriving (this was for a group of three). This was not the fault of the waiting staff, who were literally running around the restaurant. The raised booths are worth avoiding: the seats are a long way off the floor, and the rail for resting heels on is too low for short adults.

    Food was good, service was bad. Brought 2 of 4 plates and forgot the rest. Took 10 mins to flag someone down to tell them to bring rest of meal. No follow up…wanted a drink but couldn’t order. Had to flag again to bring check.

    The only negative experience in Edinburgh in 3 days. We’ve chosen this place because of the good recommendation score, but it turned out to be a disappointment. It took 30 min to take an order. Main courses arrived separately and before the starter. Drinks came last. 3/6 cocktails on the menu were not available. No one asked if the food was good or whether we want anything else. We had to ask for the bill ourselves. When we asked to split the bill, the waitress told us to calculate the amount ourselves because. Maybe it was such a bad service due to the rush, but then they should at least apologize for the long waiting time and make sure the customers would have a pleasant experience anyway. Pros: tasty food (7,5/10) and large portions.

    This is the most amazing Thai Restaurant in Edinburgh. They have this Thai Pad dish that is mouthwatering! Lovely staff! Specially Matthew who took care of us with a lot of patience and kindness. Overall highly recommended!!

    My 4th visit….food still good….but service poor. I realise it was a busy Saturday night at 7pm however have enough staff rostered to cope. Staff also indifferent in their attitude to customers. A smile and hello on arrival would be a start!

    Me and my wife arrived early and noticed the restaurant was not too busy, they were able to take us straight away which was great. We choose our starters and mains, the only minor issue was my starter arrived then my wife's main, however we were sharing so this wasn't a problem for us at all. We picked Thairacha bites and Summer Rolls with prawns, both were delicious. For our mains, we shared Loaded Pad Thai and Sweet and sour chicken stir fry with rice, my wife went medium and I went spicy, the spice levels were nice and the food was piping hot, really fresh and tasty. We decided to share puddings as well, had Banana fritters and the Mochi balls, both were really nice and a lovely way to end a great meal. We had a drink each and our bill came to £65, which we thought was very good for the quality and amount of food and drink we had. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who like Thai cuisine!

    Not great for vegetarians. All dishes are the same. They can’t make curries vegetarian cuz the base is fish which I’ve never heard before in a Thai restaurant. I can make the food at home for much cheaper. Portions are fine, service is good, place is clean, but the food is just subpar and feels like a ripoff.

    We went here for our anniversary meal, and got very disappointed. After we got seated we waited for ages for anyone to come and ask if we are ready to order. I had to go and ask someone to attend us. When waitress came to take our order, she had to leave in between to serve someone else. Our kids were hungry, we just had to wait. After we got served, food was fine, would not complain about food, it was average. After we finished our food, we wanted to look at dessert menu, again nobody came to see if we finished our meal or we need anything. We had to ask again for someone to help us with dessert and bill.. Not a great experience

    Worst service restaurant we have been too. We arrived there 30 min before our booking. There was no point in even booking as there was only one table occupied. The staff told us to come back in 30 minutes as the chef is very busy, we pointed out that we had a booking and there was only in table occupied. They then sat us down and we waited for 15 minutes before getting up and leaving as the staff ignored us and were just chatting amongst themselves with no tables to serve. They were all obviously on a break .. they didn’t even acknowledge us leaving and didn’t care. What’s funny is every other restaurant in the centre had cues to get in. I doubt this place will survive
