All around great. Our server Catherine is a big part of the experience and of course the food is worth the 120 mile round trip.
I am a huge fan of Chef Voltaggio from watching him compete on Top Chef and more recently on Tournament of Champions. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to dine at his restaurant. The food was superb. The service was great and the ambiance was elegant and comfortable at the same time. I love the way the menu is set up to be able to choose each of the courses and each one was cooked exceptionally well.
I highly recommend dining here. I cannot wait until my next visit
Perfect for a special celebration. The food is amazing and the atmosphere great. Pricey but worth the experience. Great value and great memories.
We are indoors and had lots of space between tables.
Food and staff are amazing
We ate outside, which was charming. Our server was outstanding. We started with a small plate lasagna that was perfect; For main courses, I had a pork loin, tender and excellent, and my partner had a hamburger, also delicious. We also ordered the special (and expensive) bread, which I would not recommend....not worth the price....but the free bread sticks were terrific.
Thacher and Rye is moderately expensive, but the ambience and food quality make it a good value.
I am a huge fan of Bryan Voltaggio, and I couldn’t wait to try his new restaurant. It didn’t disappoint. The cocktails were great. I had an Old Fashioned and my husband had Sudden Realization. We split Spice Gulf Shrimp and Kale Spaccatelli for our appetizers. Then he had Black See Bass and I had the pork loin. For dessert we had the Chocolate and the Cheesecake. Everything was amazingly delicious. Can’t wait to go back!
Delicious meal and terrific service! We ate outside which was really nice.
The staff and service were impeccable. The food was delicious and creative without being pretentious. The portions were perfect and the menus had enough variety to make choosing dishes a struggle in a good way.
This was absolutely some of the best food I have had in a long time. I got to watch the kitchen from where my table was, and that is something I absolutely love. My food was prepared perfectly and my waiter was exceptional. I would definitely go here again.
Good experience, the head waiter is always great, also the food. We do miss the formality of the restaurant before the new management took over. Parking space seemed more limited.
Fantastic meal! I am a chef myself and a self proclaimed foodie.
My husband, daughter and I drove specifically to dine here. I was blown away. Far exceeded my expectations. Beautiful restaurant, great covid-19 protocols, all the food was truly amazing and wonderful service. Would absolutely recommend.
Wonderful brunch. We ate a lot of food and didn’t regret a single bite. Our server, Dustin, was smart and funny and helpful.
Fantastic dinner at Thatcher & Rye. We started with cocktails that were amazing. Then had wine with our 3 courses of dinner and dessert. The pasta course was my favorite. We had the lasagna and ravioli. The creamy potatoes side dish was possibly the best mashed potatoes I have ever had. Ans the rich goat cheese cheesecake paired perfectly with the tart sorbet. Gorgeous space and phenomenal service as well!
I wanted to love Thatcher and Rye. Unfortunately, the food lacked seasoning, the chicken in the chicken and dumplings was over cooked and dry. The rest of the meal was also underwhelming.
First of all the waiter misguided us on the definition of 1st course, 2nd course. When asked if the portion size was enough for a meal he said that it depended on the person. Please, we ordered two items from both courses and they wouldn't have filled a fly.
Second, the black bass was not good. No flavor and tasted as if it had been steamed, somewhat mushy. Bring back Volt.
It’s a very hip restaurant. The first two courses and our cocktails were our favorites. The service was top notch. It was very loud in our dining room, at times it was hard to converse, so I’d recommend telling them if a quieter seat is preferred.
Great flavors! Would recommend for both a special occasion or just a meal with original flavors.
This restaurant is a pleasant surprise, which shouldn't be since the kitchen is run by the Voltaggio brothers. Didn't know what to expect since VOLT was closed. May seem expensive, but you enjoy will your money's worth. Highly recommend it!
Everything was beyond our expectations. Will definitely go back.
First time at a sit down restaurant in over a year. Wonderful food great evening
We had eaten her in the past when it was the "Volt". We found the atmosphere to be similar, service was very good as was the food. Exceeded expectations. The quality of the food and service seemed to be the same caliber as my previous visits without the price and larger portions. I was full before the 3rd entree course. Thats a good thing.
Incredible meal!
The service was great and the place was beautiful. Definitely disappointed by the food. It just wasn’t that good...
The reimagining of the former Volt is much more accessible and affordable. I had a spicy but delicious puffer fish starter and a delicious rockfish entree with udon noodles and a light but flavorful broth. Wine and cocktail offerings are varied and creative. Be careful of price with wine by the glass, which can be as much as $20-plus, but less expensive options are available. We ate outside during the pandemic and it was lovely.
We love this restaurant, and although some of the food was great, other dishes were not this time and left a couple of diners very disappointed (dried up or tasteless food, for example). For the prices you pay, this should not ever happen.
Service was great!
Bottom line, we hope this time was a single occurrence, and future visits will be as rewarding and previous ones, including those to Volt, which were exceptional.
Food was amazing. Service was outstanding. We will be back.
Brunch was amazing, the picky eater I was it couldn't stop talking about it all day.
Enjoyed a birthday brunch on a Saturday before Easter sitting in their courtyard by a couple of heat lamps as it was still cold in the late afternoon. The main road on which the restaurant sits was very lively so there is definitely a lot of noise. Our waitress was great and always checking in to make sure everything is ok. Our coffee cup was always full :). We enjoyed all the dishes! We are big foodies and love to eat, so we ordered 2 items from each course totaling 6 dishes for our entire meal for 2 people! The standouts to us were their fresh oysters, served with two different sauces as well as their brisket lasagna and the chicken and dumplings! All the dishes are familiar yet done with a new twist making them actually lighter and even more enjoyable. If you are not very hungry, still order at least one item from each category so you don't miss out on all the unique interpretation of the classics as well as trying some new things!
Rye bread with smoked trout was excellent. Shrimp first course was excellent. Goat cheese ravioli was excellent. Chicken and dumplings was seriously over salted. My mouth felt like I had just swallowed ocean water. Sticky toffee cake dessert was excellent.
Lovely evening. Please stop over salting. The food is delicious; it doesn’t need to be bathed in salt.
Always a lovely dining experience at Thacher & Rye, as was it also at Volt. We love finishing our meals up at the bar with Josh & Jenny for "dessert" whether it's actual sweets or something delicious they've concocted- we're never dissatisfied.
Always an excellent choice. Food presentation along with taste are by far equal to the finest restaurants I have had the opportunity to visit. Was a little disappointed with waiting quite awhile with a reservation, however, our bar tab during the wait was complimentary. I highly recommend.
We had a perfect brunch at Thatcher and Rye. He staff was very friendly and welcoming.
It was a lovely day and sitting outside was a very nice experience . I can’t say enough great things about the food!
We enjoyed most of the menu! They had a very good Orange wine which isn’t offered in a lot of places. The Old Fashion was
Excellent.
We thought the menu had much to offer. All of it being fabulous.
We’re looking forward to a repeat visit,
Thanks Thatcher and Rye for your wonderful food!
My first time here and I will definitely return. The entire family was satisfied with the experience here. We ordered multiple dishes and entrees so we can taste more of their foods.
Wonderful dining experience
Last night was our second time since it became Thatcher and Rye, and did not disappoint. Fantastic for and service.
Amazing food! There is nothing that I would change about our food experience.
Good was excellent, great service.
Will return and highly recommend
Excellent midday experience. COVID protocols extensive and reassuring. Food was delicious, service attentive and helpful.
Food and service was phenomenal!
Wonderful service. The meal was terrific; everything was excellent!
Food is just uninspired.
