TGI FRIDAYS - Plano (Preston Rd)
Overall very good
My wife and I came in for the rib special. A full rack of ribs along with fries and coleslaw. We substituted onion rings for the fries (for a nominal fee). They make some of the best ribs in the city. Their whisky glazed sauce is great too. Service was top notch, so it made for a very nice dinner.
We waited 55 mins for our food after having asked several times including the manager. Then we ordered endless shrimp with the slab of ribs and got 6 to start and had to wait 20 mins for a 2nd serving with 6 . And we made reservations in case it was busy but it was not
They have updated their menu. One new item is a filet mignon. My husband had it and said it was cooked just right.
We were told upon arrival that they do NOT accept open table reservations, even though we had made one several hours in advance on our cell phone apt. they made us feel uncomfortable, like maybe we were imposing on them. The food and everything else was fine, with the service being a little on the slow side
Food and service were ok. Disappointed that they have taken the Pecan Crusted Chicken Salad off the menu.
Service was slow, multiple options in the menu where not available, and food was not as good as other locations
Food was good. Mike was a nice server.
Normally love the Pecan crusted chicken salad but this time the chicken seemed old and dried out. Husband enjoyed his French dip sandwich.
When we got there, they advised us they don't take online reservations. Luckily, the place was empty so we didn't need one.
I made a reservation for Christmas at 8 PM. I even got a text message and confirmed it.
When we got to the restaurant, I was told my reservation was invalid because they don't really take online reservations and it would be a 1.5 wait.
They food and dining experience at that place isn't that good o begin with.
Don't fall for the scam of thinking they will respect your reservation or provide you any sort of positive customer service.
Even better.... there was A LOT of empty tables there.
The bartender was super nice—good service there. But when we originally showed up at the door and said we had Open Table reservation, the host said “I don’t know why that shows on the app as you can have reservations for here—we don’t honor those.” Strange. But, oh well, at least we had good service at the bar. We thank him much since we know a shift on a holiday is never easy.
My wife and I are semi-regulars at the Fridays since we moved into the neighborhood two years ago. We like the food and waitstaff seems to be on top of the work that have in front of them. Our only issue is with the speed of the kitchen. The food is good and always up to the standards that Fridays sets for itself...
How Fridays has changed... Unfortunately, it's not for the better. It had been about a year since we were last at Fridays and apparently they've revamped everything and are now trying to be fancy/upscale. The menu is completely different with many of things I remember really liking being gone. We don't come often, but now there is a good chance I just never return.
