TGI FRIDAYS - Methuen
I've been to the Methuen TGI Fridays several times and have never been disappointed like I was on the 23rd of May. I took a group of friends there and the service was not very good and the food was disappointing. Not sure what was going on that night but I can tell you that my friends do not wish to go back there. Which is a shame because it could have been an every Thurs night thing.
We have literally never walked out of a restaurant before. However, after 32 minutes without even water, we did just that. In addition, when we arrived, they said they didn't actually take OpenTable reservations and then looked at us like we were crazy when we asked to be seated. There wasn't anyone else actually waiting for a table and the restaurant was practically empty. Finally, after some awkward exchanges they sat us and we proceeded to wait 10 minutes for a waitress, another 10 for her to come back to ask if we wanted to place our order, and after we said we really just wanted our drinks and water first, we waited another 12 before deciding to walk out. Noone noticed! Crazy awful experience.
I don’t want to completely blame the restaurant for the service, but there wasn’t many people there to begin with for it to take so long. I had reserved a time with 10 people and it took at least 45 minutes to get our table. Also, everyone received their food at different times so we couldn’t enjoy it as a whole together. The waitress was not present as much as I expected her to be due to serving other customers. Maybe they were short on staff, I’m not so sure. But overall, the experience was not as good as it could’ve been.
Great place to get appetizers and drinks. They switched up the menu since last year so definitely worth going and trying some of their new dishes. I got a fun salad and my boyfriend got a chicken dish, both were excellent.
The kitchen was backed up so I had to take my dinner to go.
I made a reservation for 7:00 I arrived at 7:20 and I explained that I got lost, the host asked me to wait 5 min and 5 mins turned into 40 min my table was available at 8PM. I ordered my food and there was hair inside my chicken quesadilla🤢
Burger was well done, asked for medium
I went for my sister’s bday and Left after getting the drinks. Talked to two different staff members for them to sing Happy birthday as a surprise and one of them ignored me and the other one told me to tell the waitress, which wouldn’t be a surprise then. Also, waited way too long for the drinks and for the waitress to get to the table. Ended up going to another restaurant, wouldn’t recommend it. Didn’t like the service at all.
I think it might have been Miguel that served us a couple weekends ago but i had him twice and he was amazing! he broke out some jokes and made sure that our food was okay and that we had everything we needed! it was great
This location is inconsistent. Not a large crowd. Probably more waitstaff than guests in the dining room. Waitstaff was chatting and texting and probably the reason my food wasn't too hot when it arrived.
we walked in and even though we made a reservation, knew it’d be fairly empty... however, the waitress was more focused on carrying on conversation with her regulars when we first arrived. every time she asked if we wanted something/we placed an order she ran off, so i never even ordered a beverage considering the aforementioned—i let that ship sail. our spinach dip was a layer of sautéed spinach with cheese on top... not what it’s supposed to be. we waited a considerable amount of time for the dip, on top of it all. when our entrees came out, the dishes looked slopped together, and we waited another 10 minutes or so for my mother’s side of crispy shrimp.
we’ve gotten way better service when the restaurant is full.
Nothing to write home about. Person didn’t even look to see if I had used the open table app.
We waited 5 minutes for a hostess to even look at us at the counter, then we were swept to a table-without a word from the hostess into the empty bar right outside the bathroom. I could understand this table if the bar area was busy but at the time it wasn’t. Despite asking to move we were told it wasn’t possible. We saw our waitress 3 times- to order drinks, food and then be handed the bill. Rude service from door to door.
They did not use OpenTable... even tho i set up a time to be there and was 10 minutes early...
They found my "checkin" on their iPad.. but then they just put my name on the bottom of the same list they were using for everyone.
Don't have an OpenTable option.. if are NOT using the application!!!
I ended up leaving disappointed and hungry after waiting for 45 minutes past my scheduled time!
Hostess had no idea what we were talking about when we said we had a reservation on open table. Still had about a 15 minute wait to be seated, they just marked us down as “called ahead”. No, we weren’t late, we were a few minutes early for the “reservation”.
Due to making reservations on Open Table we were able to get into the restaurant quickly. That was the only good thing about the visit. Drinks took forever to arrive and the food even longer. However looking around the restaurant we were not the only people waiting. We waited over an hour for our food and once my burger arrived it was underdone and the cheese and cheese sauce were cold. I sent it back and waited another 20 mins for a new one which never arrived so I asked for the check. While waiting, my mother was also waiting for soup.
Additionally the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting! I will never go to this restaurant again nor will I suggest it to anybody else - ever.
Had a brand new waiter , he and the trainer are fantastic
The staff was really tough tonight. Our waitress had NO personality (a huge understatement). She did not get part of the order right, but that was b/c she was dismissive and was not listening. I said to my wife when she took the order that she was going to get it wrong. Finally, one of the staff member ran/walked past my chair, kicked it by accident, and didn't even stop to say a simple sorry, or excuse me. Basic common courtesy my 9 year old already knows. Basically the staff was not up to par, which I suspect means them management is a problem. Always the way. Usually Friday's is a winner. Not on this visit.
My only issue was that when I got there to give my name for my table they had no record of my reservation. I offered to show them my confirmation but I was basically told to step aside, waited ten min with out being acknowledged by staff and finally someone was like oh ok we can fit you in now
Got sat right away, food was good, not too crowded, waitress was friendly.
It was ok. We usually go out for dinner to tgi fridays because we love the food there, but this time it wasnt that good for some reason are appetizers were kind of cold and the dessert that i usually take wasn't what i was waiting for. Service was good can't complain.
the bacon burger had one strip of bacon and dollar coin sized spread -- stingy?
Was seated right away but the food took a VERY long time to come out. The place is always busy so they should be used to high volume.
PROS: We liked our quiet booth, 4 adults for dinner. My friends enjoyed their meals and apps.
CONS: My fish dish (grilled Mahi Mahi) came out way after my friends, nearly 45 minutes late. The manager comped me on the dish, but it was still irritating. Plus, the sweet potato fries had a plastic aftertaste, and the Mahi Mahi was a very small portion, maybe 4 oz.
