There was a lively crowd for Sunday brunch; lots of young people out enjoying a free day with friends. Had the biscuit with brisket which was quite good.
Service was not that great, however. It took a while to catch the eye of a server to give my order. Once the order was in, the food came out fairly quickly. Then, another one of them came to take my plate away, even when I wasn't done yet. Need to train their servers more.
Fine pulled pork sandwich at Texas Jack's, and it always is; the meat is right, the bun is pliant, and the slaw adds the right amount of zest. The kitchen was quite accommodating to my wife's pretty difficult dietary restrictions and fed her well. But the place is deafeningly loud inside - - there are no soft surfaces to absorb the clamor, and it was very hard to talk and be heard at all.
Delicious all around. Best of all the beef brisket - perfect balance of Smokey, juicy, & melt in the mouth goodness. Will definitely go back.
Turkey super dry. Chicken less so but still not great. Prices for their small sides are insane.
Visitors to area and lovers of barbecue. The wait staff was superb and the food was outstanding. Would definitely return if ever in the area again.
Food is always really well presented and everthing we have tried has been great. Service can be spotty depending on day/time. Nice vibe and neighborhood feel.
We have been here a handful of times and every time it has been great. We have wanted to take any out of town guests here as well to experience the great bbq. We took some important guests here and were so disappointed with the trusted brisket sandwiches we always get. The bun was different and the brisket was dry and different. I unfortunately don’t think we will be returning. Too bad. I am saddened that anything was changed or tweaked at all. Maybe it was an off day, I don’t know. Too bad.
Was in the Arlington area for a few days, found this place by chance and enjoyed every minute of it. Some of the best wings and BBQ I've ever had!
Good food. Reasonable pricing. A little loud for atmosphere. Overall a very nice experience. Third time there and I would return.
Delicious food and wonderful service will definitely visit again!
Overall the experience was very good and the food great. Had visited previously with no issues. This time the service seemed slower. It took a while for us to get our drinks and were never asked if we would like additional drinks after finishing our first. We had to ask for the check twice before we received it. Will return despite the slower service.
Maybe we're just not made for "upscale" BBQ places, because we've been disappointed before. But although a couple items were very good, I can't say this Texas Jack's was worth the 170-plus (including tax and tip) we spent here.
We tried all of the meats. The sausage was well seasoned and good, while the chicken, including the breast, was quite juicy and also above average. But all the other meats were either subpar or just nothing special. The pulled pork was very dry, the turkey somewhat dry as well; the pork ribs rather tough; the brisket was reasonably juicy, as was the beef short rib; but none of the the pork or beef items (besides the sausage) had significant, strong flavor without adding a good quantity of sauce. The greens were decent but unspectacular, while we were pleasantly surprised to enjoy the potato salad, as it was, fortunately, not too heavy on mayo. Probably the most enjoyable item from our meal was the excellent, if small and overpriced, key lime pie (in a mason jar) that I had for dessert.
Consistently high quality and delicious barbecue, and a great value when you order the combination platters to get to taste a ton of their options.
Delicious!! Chili nachos so good!! We’re having dreams about how good the food was!! Definitely go!!
The food was disappointing, you'd expect some good BBQ at a BBQ place. The ribs were tough and overcooked, the corn bread was bland and tasted boxed and their sauce lacked flavor. The menu is limited with options so you basically have the choice of a sandwich with one kind of meat and fries or you have to purchase the $49 sampler, entire menu was overpriced in my opinion. Only good thing I can say is that the dessert was spot on.
Was a great experience, as always. They were prepared for our reservation, the drinks came promptly, and the food was delish.
Texas Jacks is one of my favorite barbecue places, mainly for their brisket. We also love their brussel sprouts and esquited.
Delicious BBQ place that has a good sampler platter for groups.
Pork ribs and beef barbecue are excellent.
Excellent potato salad and beans, plus good corn bread
Their barbecue sauces are very tasty.
Good selection of draft and bottle beers.
Barbecue is sold by the pound and is a bit expensive. But the quality of the food is great.
Excellent brunch venue. Very relaxed and the food was good especially the French toast.
Had an awesome time at Texas Jacks! Our server, Ray, was great. The food was outstanding. Have told many friends to go and eat here, if they already haven't! Excellent (and knowledgeable) service, authentic BBQ, and great cocktails. Definitely going back!
Really good BBQ and sides !! Kudos for the free valet parking
Great food, great service. We had the brisket sandwich and the chicken & waffles with a mangosa. AWESOME
We arrived at almost closing time (10:30pm) on a weekday but they accommodated my party of 3 just fine. We didn’t get a chance to try the food but we got a round of drinks and they let us stay a bit pass closing time which was very generous.
We were at the bar section which is bigger than I expected and the noise level was not too loud so we could have a good conversation.
I will definitely have to come again to try the food.
Amazingly delicious first time there & our friends from out of town (who lived in TX) loved it also! The moist brisket were so perfectly tender & flavorful. The sausage was excellent as well as the brussell sprouts. Can't wait to come back!
Food is great, service is terrible. $4 brunch drinks can’t be beat in this area I’ll take the poor service for the price
The smoked flavor of meats was very good. We had the brisket and short rib which everyone loved. There were 5 of us we all enjoyed the wings, nachos, and brussel sprouts appetizers.
Tasty barbecue and good cocktails. Our family loves it.
100% incredible All You Can Eat brunch with many food and drink options. The food menu includes typical brunch plates like omelets and sandwiches, and there's also the meat section which means all you can eat ribs, brisket, pulled pork, chicken, etc. Salads, side dishes, and "to share" plates such as nachos and chicken wings are also included in the price. Drinks are an additional $1 per glass or $6 for carafes. Definitely come hungry if you're doing the all you can eat option.
Or, if you know exactly what you want - the other side of the menu has everything a la carte.
Great Brisket and pulled pork. The greens need some red wine vinegar, the coleslaw some celery seeds and you should be able to purchase barbecue sauce from the store.
Great food, wonderful service!
Pretty sure the short ribs were the best meat I ever put in my mouth!
Really enjoyed the brisket omelette, mac and cheese!
We go to T.J. a lot and live around the corner. However, quality, quantity and service are lacking compared to what we are accustomed to. We waited for over an hour for our food.
Great BBQ, brunch was delicious and price very reasonable for quality of food. Great afternoon with friends on the patio
This is easily the BEST BBQ in the region. We were recently in Austin, TX and Texas Jack's is just as good as the famous places in Austin.
The food was great.
