Texas Jacks Barbecue

Texas Jacks' crew was ready for the 7 of us and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and service we received.
BBQ brunch completely done right.
I took banana pudding home for late night snack; it does no disappoint.
Parking, deal with it; it’s Arlington, but any small parking problem is swept away with food and ambiance.
The cost of $37 for a full rack of ribs was steep, especially considering the sides were Ala Carte
Good for brunch, it has an a la carte as well as buffet option. We went with the a la carte and drinks, and the food came out quick, service was prompt, and both the drinks and food were consistently good throughout our time during brunch.
The brisket is good, but I think the pulled pork is even better. The biscuits they make are the best thing on the menu -- flaky, tender (and the gravy they make is also stellar). The only negative was the cole slaw, which was kind of blah. However, overall, this is a nice place to eat and to watch sports in the bar area.
One of the best BBQ places I have ever been. This place is a must visit!!!
Our first time to Texas Jacks - we've been wanting to go for quite a while. It did not disappoint !! The food was outstanding the service friendly and extremely helpful. We can't wait to return again..and again.....
Fantastic ambiance; friendly, attentive service. Excellent meats and outstanding sides. We had a great time!
The food was subpar for the price. I have tried a few barbecue restaurants in the area and they all had either 3 or higher Stars. Honestly I was very disappointed.
Amazing service and the best BBQ!
Delicious Thanksgiving. First time, and two of us tried it all. Pulled pork nachos were honestly some of the best nachos I've ever had (and as a lifelong Southern Californian, I frequently bemoan the lack of good Mexican food out here). St. Louis beef rib was almost 2 lb, and literally fell off the bone. Cooked 17 hours, and so tender and well-seasoned I wanted to take home a week's worth. Corn esquites - flavorful, will order it every time. Mashed potatoes - please add them to the regular menu! They were hot, soft, delicious potato clouds for my mouth! Brussels sprouts - lots of pancetta and parmesan, so more tolerable than most Brussels, but still Brussels; will probably try something else next time. Pork spare ribs were tender and meaty, but not fall-off-the-bone like the St. Louis rib. And the smoked turkey breast was my one attempt to be healthy, and I wish I'd ordered the brisket or pulled pork instead (I mean, why get turkey breast at BBQ? Duh). We only ate about a third of the food, took the rest home, and added some to-go pecan pie and banana cream pie to the mix, which were great, too. The banana cream pie was topped with Nilla Wafers to go along with the graham crust, and the pecan pie had a nice mix of caramel custard with crunch pecans. I can't wait to return.
Excellent service and good food. The server was very friendly and excellent timing.
We’ve eaten here many times and the food has always been very good. Saturday may have been an off night for the kitchen, but everything was dry. The brisket was extremely dry (we should have sent it back!). The beans and even the Mac and cheese were dry. Luckily, the pulled pork, brussel spouts and corn were very good.
Food was great! The restaurant is a bit loud but the service was good!
Food had no flavor and was cold. Had to drown meat in sauce to taste anything.
We had a celebration of life dinner with friends and family. The waitresses were very attentive. The food was great. We had a great time.
I saw online that Texas Jacks puts cheese on the brisket sandwich, which wrecks it, but we were chatting when I made my order and I totally blanked on that. I suggested to the waitress that she'd do well in taking orders for the brisket sandwich to ask customers whether they want that gooky cheese on it. so that you can solve the problem. I will tell you emphatically that it ruined my lunch. You obviously ignored the reviewer who complained about it. Very much enjoyed the experience, since I was in good company. My friend said he ordered the brisket platter to avoid the cheese. I'm surprised that I have to write this.
You can order the brisket sandwich without cheese...
Brisket was excessively salty and I always put salt on my food. Disappointed since WAPO gave it top ranking.
Food, drinks, and service (once it got going) were great, but we were bummed to learn they had run out of all the meat menu options except pulled pork by 8:30pm.
Food was great - the St. Louis ribs were amazing!! Good beer and bourbon selection!
Loud. Ran out of cornbread. Make a reservation
Following a Washington Post review of Texas Jacks Barbecue, which rated it #1, my wife and I paid it a visit. The location on Washington Boulevard is convenient, though at the time we arrived (Saturday, about 5:15p), parking in the area was quite limited.
Inside, we noted that the "ambiance" was relaxed, and the sound level almost too loud to have a quiet conversation.
All of that said, service, food presentation and quality were excellent. Though the variety on the menu was somewhat limited, everything we ordered (I loved the pork ribs!) was very well prepared.
Texas Jacks Barbecue should not be missed. It's a really nice place to eat, especially if you have tix for a show "downtown", since there's close easy access to I395.
Excellent as always!
Brisket was pretty good, everything else was fairly tasteless or felt overpriced. Few options or ability to customize what you wanted to get.
The inability to get meat platters for a single serving of meat was unusual.
Food and service both top notch. It was lunch on a weekday, so we were able to have a conversation easily as the noise level was low. This is one of my go-to places.
I made brunch reservations for our friend’s birthday this past Sunday - the food & drinks were delicious, and the service was top notch - our server Riley was exceptional!
The Saturday’s night ribs were cold and this is shame. The waitress was very annoying and we had the feeling that she was counting every minute we stayed in the restaurant.
As always, it was a great experience going to Texas Jack’s. I’m from Texas, and it’s easily my favorite BBQ place in DC. The brisket and the pulled pork are tried and true staples, with the Brussels sprouts as an absolutely amazing hidden gem. We sat at the counter and watched them prepare the meals, and get the meat ready, which I also recommend. It was heartbreaking through to watch them through the burnt ends away and bones that could have made excellent bone broth... I would highly recommend you eat here!
Awesome food! Service was decent. A little slow, but we were a party of 9. All their bbq is GF too!
Foods good, overpriced. Manager and staff appeared to be inconvenienced by my party. Felt like it was an imposition to ask for napkins, water and food from the menu’s.
Food is tasty but atmosphere/staff could use some tweaking to have ambiance match price point of meal. (Too expensive of a meal to have staff treat you like crap)
Brisket great as always!
A must try family and friends’ experience! Parking a bit jammed but fair price for the food!
Food was good with some new BBQ type items I hadn’t seen before. Service was great not sure if web site advises only valet parking or street parking. If not it should. Had a nice night and we will come back
I have been to Texas Jacks Barbeque/Arlington before, so when my guests from Japan wanted to try American BBQ, I took them to the best -- Texas Jacks, of course. The food & service were excellent. We started with brisket nachos & wings, followed by large platter of meat and a bunch of sides. With the exception of the chicken, which was slightly too dry for my taste (no one complained though), the 'medley' of smoked/BBQ meat was moist & delicious. Wonderful! Highly recommended.
Great BBQ. Brisket, collard greens, and Brussels sprouts were really good
The server was excellent very attentive
Great brunch options!!!!
Amazing brisket- as good as it gets outside of Texas. They know what they’re doing!
The service was wonderful but the food was mediocre. Frankly, it was way too salty for my taste.
Tremendous food, great atmosphere, and an intoxicating aroma from the moment you open the door. Texas Jack’s is the best BBQ in Arlington, VA. It is always the first dinner request when my out-of-town family visits.
