   Erath County has approximately 36,500 hd. of beef cows (NASS) so it’s always been a wonder to me why there was no steakhouses of note in the County. We have umpteen Mexican restaurants but nooooo steakhouse. Until now! It’s located in what used to be a bar/restaurant so likely not too many people even know it’s there. And, the restaurant doesn’t do a lot of advertising. We requested seating in a quiet out of the way spot and it was quiet. However, next time we will try the “Sire” room. It’s a large private room with fireplace, sitting area, large banquet table , restroom and comes with your own private waitstaff. What a wonderful spot for special occasions. The food was delicious from the appetizers to the main course and sides that can easily serve 2-3 people. And, the drinks were spot on. As I lamented in most of my reviews apparently no one goes to professional bar tending school therefore we have found most bartenders have no mixology expertise (and this is everywhere not just Erath Co, Metroplex and surrounding states). The waitstaff was warm and informative for first-timers. Last, I did ding one star for rustic ambience but that’s just me ..I know a lot of people especially in Erath County like the western vibe. We’re all different and that’s ok. Great place! Great Food! And so much better than that other “new” place in town.

   Absolutely phenomenal experience at Tex-Ken Ranch Steak House! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed like family. The service was attentive without being overbearing—every detail was handled with care. And the food? Unforgettable. The steaks were perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor, and every side dish tasted like it was made from scratch with love. You can tell this place takes pride in what they serve. If you’re craving a true Texas steakhouse experience with down-home hospitality, this is it. Five stars all the way, we’ll be back!

   From the moment you walk through the door the staff treat you like royalty! The service is always 10/10 top notch amazing. I haven’t met the bartender,but it’s obvious the owners/management searched high and low to put the best of the best behind the bar. I recommend the Four Roses bourbon single barrel mmmmHMMMM!! Get it on the rocks,or rock technically because they have those big round ice cubes so you won’t water down your drink. I’m not even going to try to explain how good the steaks because you likely won’t even believe me,so just make a reservation and go taste for yourself. It’s like a religious experience when you bite into a medium rare fillet! I’ll quit rambling now,but I guarantee you will not be disappointed by Tex Ken Ranch Steak House!!

   When you enter the restaurant is like entering a cowboy town. I loved it! There’s is a saloon, and the different parts of the town like offices, stores, etc, is where they take you to have your dinner. Service was excellent and food as well. Sides are big enough to share, and the menu explains it. My husband ate the Cowboy Ribeye (16 oz) and I ate the Surf and Turf (10oz steak and 3 big grilled shrimps). They were perfect!

   Best steak we’ve had in years! Service and quality are top notch! Food was prepared perfectly. It’s a little pricey but totally worth it. We brought enough food home for another big meal. The cost is not that much more than what we pay for food that’s mediocre at best.
