nice restaurant, good help and good service. We will most probably go back
The acoustics make it a bit too loud during peak hours but it’s fine afterward. Cocktails and food are delicious. Dine la was a superb deal. I’d return!
It was one of the best Dine LA menus we had. What a great experience to eat at Tesse. We are looking forward to going back for another date night. We will definitely talk about the restaurant to our friends.
Nice W. Hollywood space in which to dine with views of the Sunset Strip. Lots of great wines to choose from, and by the glass, it's served in three ounce pours, so that diners can do a tasting of sorts while enjoying small and medium plates. Very knowledgeable wait staff and hostess was very attentive, too. The call to follow-up about my experience there on the day after my meal was a very nice touch.
Nice food... wines were very expensive by the glass (half glass)...my Cabernet was below average... would come again as food is pretty good...expensive for everyday dining.
Great meal but pricey
My second time and Tesse never disappoints!
The vibe is great, the service is great and the food so perfect.
Spectacular, as always. Jordan and his staff always make sure every guest is treated with class and respect. The food is the best in LA right now, hands down.
We had one of the best dinners at Tesse....the food is amazing and the wines are off the charts. Our waiter was very attentive and recommended the perfect pairings. Tesse has a vibrant social vibe, but Sunday nights are more local family nights that are quite and more mellow. We will go back very soon!
Two prior weekday dinners the food was excellent but Sun dinner was significantly deteriorated. Suspect top European chefs were absence so no one supervise the preparation of dishes. Even the same appetizer dish the way it was served was inferior!
All the dishes I tried were very well prepared and excellent. Absolutely best European cuisine I have experienced in Los Angeles
Enjoyed the attentive service and the excellent menu choices. There were mostly hits and very few misses... I wasn't crazy about the pastas but the Duck Pate, the salads, the Pheasant and Whole Fish were all excellent. I think the chocolate soufflé for dessert is forgettable, but no big deal. Overall an excellent experience and will be coming back.
Got food poising and sent a message this am
I haven’t heard back yet which is quite disappointing
definitely recommend! One of the better restaurants in WeHo
We were there for New Year's Eve ! Service was perfect! Food was excellent!
New Year’s Eve dinner
This would be what I consider American French. It’s like fusion of the two, which makes it good and interesting.
Small plates were interesting and very good. Staff are extremely attentive. Veronica even made a follow up phone call the next day to see how we had enjoyed our evening. It was much appreciated. Corkage is a little high. Really enjoyed our evening and looking forward to returning.
Tesse was a good and pleasant experience. The staff was nice, the food was good, the atmosphere is great. The place is busy but very lively. The food was tasty and worth the price considering the location. Didn’t try the dessert but they looked delish. Will definitely try next time!
Too loud - awful music and no sound deadening for noisy groups
Went here on a couples date before comedy store show. Great shared plates meal. Very laid back atmosphere. Blue crab, charcuterie, cauliflower, and mushrooms were our favorites. Would heavily recommend this place.
Tesse has a very rare combination of offering outstanding food and a very trendy/hipster crowd and vibe. Most restaurants on the Sunset Strip that are this energetic offer food that is mediocre or acceptable but nothing special. The food at Tesse is excellent, well-presented and generously portioned. Our table of 4 shared 6 dishes and we would have been fully satisfied without the last course (which still was excellent). Good service. Dishes come out as they are prepared so if formal coursing is important to you this might not be the place, but the atmosphere is so lively and fun that it's best to go with it.
Very nice location and superb attention to details. Was my bday and was presented with a free caviar toast it was a very appreciate touch and besides the atmosphere is relax to enjoy your romantic date. These guys know the business will go to more of their venues. Thanks again for everything
Amazing place, charming and cozy. The food was amazingly good. Recommend 100%
Beautiful atmosphere and food was exceptional. Bar tender very knowledgable and friendly.
I absolutely love this restaurant! The food and ambiance are perfect and so were the cocktails. They even called me the day after to ask how my experience was - such a nice touch! Will be back again and again!!
The service, staff, wine, and food are 150% to die for. The overall experience is a MUST have.
Delicious food ! Happy to come 4th time! As usual ---food is incredible!
Food was amazing!
One of the best restaurants - Food is excellent! Wine is outstanding! Place is vibrant! Tesse is a MUST! The Hamachi Crudo is hands down the best I've ever had.
Superb food and wine selection in a slick, contemporary airy environment. One of my favorite WeHo and LA restaurants.
Great ambiance. Food was lackluster.
Love this restaurant. The staff is always excellent and the food delicious!
We loved the restaurant. A little noisy for us, but that seems to be the trend today. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and creative without being strange. The servers were friendly, energetic, and very helpful with making suggestions about the menu. They were definitely well trained. All in all it was a lovely experience and we look forward to going back. I have already told several of my friends that they should go.
I will preface this review by lauding the delicious food Tesse serves as bistro French with California style. Jidori chicken and creme brulee may be standards, but Tesse elevates them beyond anything you've had before.
However, Tesse is in the hospitality and service business. So, arrive at 5:27 pm and you will stand by the door before a hostess will seat you for your 5:30 pm reservation, only after you've proven your party has arrived and even then the couple behind you will be seated first. Not a great first impression. The restaurant is EMPTY, allow me to sit down after fighting LA traffic for an hour to arrive, honoring the reservation.
It seems Tesse has decided that the kitchen's convenience supersedes the customer's. After ordering, we are informed that the dishes will arrive in no particular order and we are expected to share, and therefore the entire order must be placed at one time. SERIOUSLY?
A short-order cook and the best kitchen in the world can produce delicious dishes in a specific order. Appetizers first, entrees after. What is so difficult? Fortunately, I think our waiter sensed our dissatisfaction and the kitchen managed to expedite our order accordingly. Still, this is a new trend that needs to die as does the kitchen's expectation that dishes be shared so they don't have to time service. Well, at these prices, I want a bit more effort. And I don't want to share.
Clearly, this is not a reflection upon the waitstaff but upon the kitchen. The waitstaff could not have been more solicitous, perhaps they recognize the dereliction of hospitality by management.
Loved our waiter. Excellent wine list. The hamachi crudo was beautiful and tasted great. The duck prosciutto in the bucatini was so good! I’d love to have some for my next charcuterie board. My venison was incredibly delicious! I was disappointed by the vanilla soufflé-it just tasted like a scrambled egg with vanilla sauce on it. Besides dessert, I’d give it a 5/5 stars all the way around!
I loved appetizers and dessert. Because of that, I didn't even try main course (took it home), three great appetizers for two people was more then enough to feel us up, especially because we wanted to have dessert. As I said everything that I was able to consume was great, especially Blue crab and vanilla soufflé's for dessert. Maybe it's too much to ask, but I would appreciate if waiter would worn us that 5 dishes for 2 not big ladies is too much. Have to mention that portions at this restaurant are very generous. Overall it was great and I looking forward to go back.
Food was absolutely terrible as was the service. Our server never once asked us how anything was. The cauliflower starter dish was a soggy mess and unsightly. I got the shrimp which was served (I kid you note) in a Pyrex dish. I felt like I was eating leftovers that had been heated up in the microwave. The shrimp was hard to eat, not filling at all and basically was a bowl of sweet broth with two shrimp and some soggy tarot chips that made me keep thinking I was eating the shells of the shrimp. So sad given the beautiful atmosphere. I honestly feel ripped off.
Dishes were tasty but Tesse is overpriced for what you get. $52 for 4 scallops, albeit fairly big ones?! Selling half-size glasses of wine is gimmicky, too. What seems reasonable (a $10-12 glass) is actually $20-24 for a regular glass. You’re told it’s a 3 oz pour, but your mind doesn’t automatically times thar by 2 to determine the true price. Nice and hip place but fairly noisy. Unless you’re lucky to get a booth, the tables are close to one another.
Service was slow. Took 35 minutes to get first course. Food was cold. Manager took away the cold food and return it on same plate after saying if they heated it again it would taste worse
