TESSA Ratings and Reviews
We had a wonderful time. The food was excellent. Our server, Nadia could not have been nicer and her recommendations were perfect. Nadia was very accommodating when one member of our party was late and ordered well after the rest of us had finished our meal.
Looking forward to going back!
Arrived for brunch on Sunday at 11:30. The place was empty but quickly filled up. Me and my guest ordered the build your own benny. A great concept and the waitress made good suggestions on how to pair. It comes with a side of mixed greens that goes perfectly although the overall portion was quite small. I should have ordered a side to go along. Overall experience was very positive. I’d return for sure.
The branzino and the Tessa salad were both very tasty. This was my second time at Tessa and both times I found the service to be mediocre. Waiters seem distracted and don’t notice when you wave them over. It is hard to get their attention/ service. Both times food took a long time to come out.
The company cocktails were good. The drunken mussels were delicious. The lobster pasta (forgot the name) was too salty -couldn't it eat. The pork chops were salty too. The Hanger steak was perfect. The burger was fine. The donuts dessert was yummy.
The place is pretty. The service was fine, we could barely hear our waitress though.
Dinners have always been very good here but a recent lunch was a great discovery. Less busy than at night when this popular spot is always full and a bit noisy so 4 of us could talk comfortably. The choices were excellent from small plates to salads with pastas also available. Pleasant service people and no rush.
We have been to Tessa a few times. This time we were disappointed. While our server was very friendly and helpful, the food was under seasoned and just not as delicious as in the past. The chocolate budino was the best thing we ate by far. It was SO loud!
Not sure we will go back...
Looking for an Upper west side location, a local suggested this for a varied menu of mostly small plates. Very attractive and casual decor with nice selection of lunch options. a glass of pinot noir from oregon was delicious. Am trying to like kale, and they did a pretty good job of making the kale salad palatable. I even took leftovers home, heated it as a side for dinner and it was even better than cold salad. Our waiter Michael was very helpful.
It was our first time at Tessa. I was impressed with the waitstaff and the professional and friendly manner of the managers. Although we had a 6:15 dinner reservation the restaurant was full and it was quite loud not what I expected. Everyone was pleased with their mains.
