We offer an inspired and innovative menu. Taking tradition Italian, French, and Spanish dishes and using only the finest seasonal produce, local products and specialty or artisanal items from local or imported sources, we have created an extensive menu containing selections ranging from shared plates and appetizers to home made pastas and exciting main dishes. Our menus change with the seasons and there are truly "specials" on offer every night.
We apologize, but our dining areas do not accomodate Highchairs, Booster Seats, or Strollers.
The food and service was great however it was so dark we couldn’t read the menu or see what our food looked like
As always a wonderful experience from the moment we were seated (which was right away) to the moment we departed. A class act!
I was just in NYC for the marathon for the weekend, and wanted soemwhere right around the corner from the Hotel. Yelp reviewers gave no indication that it was basically a somewhat up market pub, but in fact that was all it was...so we arrived, well attired, and at least imagining a more upscale restaurant experience. Service was 'fine'. Cocktail menu is great, they appear to have some good wines, and our food was pretty good. The waitress lacked a couple of basics, especially as to serving the wine....maybe we were a bit exhausted, but while everything went somewhat according to expectations, we left feeling a little flat. Lastly and our biggest gripe....our order anywhere else would have been in the region of about $90, but here it was $136....add a tip, and we're out quite a bit of money for not much of an evening.
This is a small and very pleasant restaurant with good food and excellent service. However the tables are crowded close together and it is very noisy. Difficult to have a conversation.
We thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful experience at Tessa prior to attending a concert at The Beacon Theater. The vibe and ambiance were comfortable and fun. The staff was extremely attentive without being intrusive. Everyone in our group loves the food as well.
Cozy neighborhood spot that welcomes and is inviting for everyone: knowledgeable and courteous staff, fresh ingredients, AMAZING Happy Hour (4-6pm). We’ll be back with more friends :)
Super wonderful across the board.
Will surely return and recommend to friends
We loved it, especially duck pastrami
Nice place on the Upper West Side for a tasty dinner with friends.
We came in after seeing a show at the Beacon...place was full and jovial when we walked in the door.
Ordered drinks and apps...drinks were good but the
Cauliflower appetizer was a dud...yogurt sauce under it was delicious but the cauliflower was completely plain and the dish needed some crunch.
Mains dishes came and the ricotta gnocchi was fantastic...the steak frites while cooked perfectly was under seasoned and cold. The final straw was the fact that the fries were old. They were room temperature at best.
Our waiter was apologetic for the steak mishap but at that point there wasn’t anything he could do about it.
Fantastic service, wonderful menu, delicious meal!
Service was very good
Birthday dinner really good food good drinks good service
We loved our pre-Beacon concert dinner! My husband and I shared a few small plates and then a burger. Everything was delicious! Salad, Mussels, tuna tar and flat bread!
Will definitely come back!
The food was excellent, but they were very inflexible about removing items from their pre-assembled entrees, which basically left me with 1 choice... but it was delicious. Also screaming kids, but that fault is owned by the parent(s) who allowed it, not the restaurant.
I have been to Tessa many times and the food is always excellent. I love they keep my favorites but add lots of delicious new things. This was the first time where I didn't think the service was very good. We were seated outside and am not sure if the server forgot about us, but it started to get cold and we were looking to pay the bill. We went in and asked the hostesses if we could be helped to pay our bill and they were not helpful (they were also not particularly warm when checking in). Finally there was a bartender who wanted to help us.
Very pleasant neighborhood place with good friendly service and fine food. Not overly ambitious on the food side...mostly solid standards done well.
Loved this place. Friendly service, cool ambiance and really great food. Highly recommend
Fabulous as usual !!
Had tickets to see Deep Purple at the Beacon looked for a good local restaurant and wow were we pleasantly surprised . Great Food , drinks, service and even a great wine list ! Will definitely be back
Very busy Sat night. We were seated in the back of the restaurant next to the servers computer and the large party in the back room. Very uncomfortable time. Ordered just dinner and left quickly.
Our reservation was for 5pm on Saturday and they put the three of us in the back room. Perfect! Quiet! Great service. Delicious food and wine. Excellent. When we left it was mobbed on the main dining room and we would have hated it. Will go back, but only at 5pm or early on a week night.
We just moved to the UWS and love finding places like TESSA. Great food, great service, goos vibes, all around a great experience. The burger was an A+ and the pasta was so tasty, apparently home made as well. Skip the tuna tartare, wasn’t as flavorful as I would have hoped, but still overall 10/10.
We went for dinner prior to a show, everyone's dinner was great. We will be back again
We could not have been more pleased food great, wine by the glass great
Can’t wait to go back
Food was extremely fresh and service was excellent--I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was great but it is LOUD
Great food and ambiance. Loud but energetic and fun. Really great cocktails.
Good atmosphere, our table of 4 ordered 3 appetizers (cauliflower frito, drunken mussels, house dips & 2 entrees (gnocchi, veal tenderloin on the bone) there was plenty of food for all. The bolognese was exceptional & the veal was perfectly prepared & presented. We also added shaved brussel sprouts & truffle fries.
Service was a balance of attentive & respectful, with good recommendations. All added up to a great meal with some interesting star gazing thrown in to leave us with stories to tell our friends.
Very enjoyable experience, I’m sure we’ll be back.
Just wish the w interior was more conducive to some noise reduction. Food and service are always great but yelling to your table mate gets old
Totally enjoyed. Relaxing comfortable restaurant that goes beyond expectations.
Service was pleasant food was very good prepared perfectly. Great find.
Everything any of the four of us had was delicious.
Good food. My husband had branzino which he loved. I had pasta that was also very good. The place is expensive but that’s just New York in general. Example $17 for a glass of wine! $22 for a small bowl of pasta but again, good food, nice ambiance and good service. When we visit next time, we’ll eat here again.
Always delicious food and good service. Neighborhood favorite.
All fine except food. Overcooked salmon (asked for rare, when asked by waiter for preference). Tasteless roast chicken. average at best.
I wish the restaurant was quieter - my ears were actually ringing after dinner! Our server was lovely, bread and butter came quickly and was fresh and tasty. The tuna tartare app was mostly cucumbers, rather than tuna and was in need of more assertive seasoning! Branzino was perfectly grilled and a generous portion.
We ate outside, enjoyed the happy hour and received impeccable service and attention.
Tessa was a great restaurant to go to for dinner. My wife has wanted to go there for some time, so I took her for her birthday. The food was amazing. I would recommend it.
