tesori Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed our food at Tesori - the lamb chops and the grilled octopus were delicious, my daughter's salmon was good as well, but slightly undercooked in the middle.
The service however was terrible. I had to wait more than 10 minutes for the second glass of wine and remind the waiter I ordered it. My lamb shank was cold by the time the wine arrived and it delayed our dinner to make us rush in the end, unnecessarily, to make our show.
A group of us met for dinner prior to going to the theater. I changed the reservation 3 times and they were very accommodating. The food was fresh and well seasoned. My niece and I split an entree and they did have a problem with this. Portions were generous and the ambiance was very nice. I thought the prices were very reasonable as well.
Great pasta and pizza here.
Good friendly service and beautiful restaurant overall, unfortunately the restrooms ( from the symphony center ) were filthy ( even without a concert those restrooms are a mess) that is the only reason why I don't give to Tesori the 5 stars .
I want to say that my experience at Tesori was second to none.
We had a long day at the Aquarium and Open Table came to the rescue. We arrived and were pleased with the happy hour menu and lively bar scene.
We ordered the wine flight and samples several of the dishes.
My 6 year old son had a bad headache and was crying. He wanted to leave. I hurried to get him out of the restaurant.
The manager was so kind. He brought my son ice cream. Boxed up his pizza, and tried in every way to help him. Just darling.
He even gave me the most delicious tub of popcorn to take along.
My mother and husband stayed and enjoyed their meal. They also loved the food and my mother who is very particular swore she would recommend Tesori to everyone of her friends and family.
I agree. The bruschetta, pizza, roasted veggies, and lasagna were great.
The service was impeccable and impressive.
We will be back.
We had a great lunch here before seeing Hamilton. It is a short walk to the theatre and the Tesori staff is expert at ensuring that you are on your way on time.
I had a delicious and healthy kale salad; friends had two different salads with chicken. Excellent coffee.
In the past, I've had their pizzas, which also are wonderful. This is a great place.
With a generous charity program attached to a delicious Old Fashioned - a perfect beginning to a very nice pre-theatre lunch. The mushroom soup was good, but a bit thin and not bursting with flavor - a "B". The lamb ragu with house made gnocchi was very, very good. Hit the spot on a chilly day and had great, complex flavors. Paired, at the recommendation of staff, with a nice Italian red blend wine, a nice lunch. The "Executive Lunch" ordered by my dining companion had reasonable servings of soup, salad and a personal pizza - all well prepared and tasty - note, they are served simultaneously on a long rectangular plate. This option is really designed for a diner on a lunch timetable - but a good option.
Overall a well composed, quality lunch with great glass walled brightness to lift one's spiritis on a grey Chicago winter day.
Our meal at tesori was tasty. We started with the beet salad, which was nicely seasoned for a great flavor. Then we ordered lasagna and steak and shared both between us. (I share this to verify that I tasted both.) The lasagna had good flavor and was tender, not chewy like lasagna can sometimes be. The steak was served with mashed potatoes and vegetable, and was very good. For dessert, we tried the affogato and the chocolate/hazelnut semifreddo. Both were delicious; it's hard to pick a favorite.
Our server was excellent. He paid enough attention to us to be sure we had everything we needed and left us alone enough so we could converse and enjoy our dinner.
Tesori is super-convenient pre or post concerts at Symphony Center, but reservations are definitely needed because it fills up.
Tesori is perfect for before/after events at Orchestra Hall, as the restaurant communicates with the lobby through a series if inside passage-ways. Also, we were able to check our coats at the restaurant and pick them up again after the show , a huge help in the winter.
However, the restaurant is extremely crowded with seating impossibly close. The ambiance is uncomfortably HOT (not warm) and noisy. But the food is tasty and all in all, it’s a good Chicago experience.
Terrible service led to a cold, overcooked bad meal. Since we were dining before the symphony, there was no time to send back our entrees. I ordered the $$ salmon and requested it be cooked to medium . .overcooked, dry and certainly not worth the price. My friends entree, pasta, cold and unappetizing. I believe our waitress just forgot about our meals.
A Must-Do when attending the symphony because an interior hall connects the restaurant to Orchestra Hall. Food is good-pasta and salad excellent other entrees (chicken cacciatore, grilled octopus) just OK.
Preferred it when it used to be Rhapsody as the menu had more entree selections and it was more elegant and festive -table cloths, little Italian lights on outside trees.
There are other better restaurants in the area but none beat this location!!!
My wife and I eat here regularly before symphony. It is always good but this meal was exceptional. The menu has been expanded and we tried a couple new additions: swordfish for me and a lamb gnocchi for my wife. Swordfish was cooked perfectly, not dry at all. The gnocchi was excellent. A new brussel sprouts dish was lovely (and both of his grew up hating sprouts. Our server, Karen, was exceptional. She really made the evening. Spot on recommendations on the new menu and wine pairings.
I have been to Tesori several other times but last Sunday was over-the-top amazing. Online I noted the dinner was for my dad's birthday. We were running 15 minutes late, and when we called to inform the host, she was so accommodating and in fact added an extra 10 minutes just in case.
When we arrived, we noticed the beautiful Christmas decorations place about creating a luxurious but homey, cozy mood. The host greeted us and when she saw my dad said, "Happy Birthday!" While my dad visited the restroom and the rest of us sat, our delightful server, Marco, quickly approached our table and introduced himself and said, "I know we are celebrating a birthday, so here is the dessert menu. How about you pick one he would like and it will be on us." When he returned once my dad was seated, he acted like we never met before and reintroduced himself. It was perfect!
The food was excellent: Brussels sprouts were the best our table has ever eaten: made with golden raisins and honey, which is different from typical bacon recipes. The scallops were full of flavor, so good!
Another server came out to deliver the dessert but I don't think realized it was for a birthday, so it did not include a candle (which would've been fine). Once Marco returned a minute later, he said "Happy birthday!" and that he was sorry he didn't get to bring it to us. Then he returned with a piece of the dessert (the one we debated over) with a candle and said, "We just wanted you to have the full experience. Happy Birthday! This is also on us." It was so thoughtful. (Also they didn't sing. Everything was pretty classy.)
Top notch service- everyone was wonderful but our server, Marco, in particular made everything so special for us and my dad.
The bill is a little pricey, but you get phenomenal food, generous wine pours, beautiful ambiance, and the best service. My family fell in love with the place, and we will return for another special occasion. Perfect place for a date or group dinner. Love!
This was our first trip to Tesori; It will not be our last. The ravioli (with smoked beef brisket) and the warm prosecco poached strawberries are enough reason to come back again and again. Wow! My daughters and I were headed to see Hamilton after dinner and Tesori was just the perfect place to start a special evening.
