It was our first time dining at Tesori and it was a good one. My friend had the chicken cacciatore, which she said was phenomenal. I had the wild salmon, and it was decent. The size of the salmon was below average, and the flavors were a bit off but it wasn't horrible. The caesar salad was good and the drinks were tasty. Overall, it was a nice time.

Chino was a great waiter. We had a booking for a party of 7 and he treated us as though we were the only ones in the restaurant.

Dinner was delicious and we were seated in a quiet corner conducive to conversation. We had a good time catching up with old friends before a Chicago Symphony concert.

Big advantage is the location--very friendly for the symphony. Full meal, great service, enabled us to get to the preview of the concert in time, too.

Wonderful pre-concert meal of lasagna bolognese and chicken cacciatore with Super Tuscan wine as a pairing. Excellent choice before a CSO performance.

Good choice for upscale dining and excellent location; especially when going to the Chicago Symphony Center as it is in the same building - or right across from the Chicago Art Institute. In nicer weather one might decide to take a walk across to Millennium Park or over to the lake front.

Our server wasn’t as good as the week before. Arugula salad was much smaller. Her only comment was an apology. She didn’t check on the food. We go before symphony.

Conveniently located to Symphony Hall (same building) and advertised as an Italian restaurant--I really like Italian food. Martini cocktail was very good. Bread was a bit like cake, ok but unusual with olive oil in my experience. Caesar salad was ok but described as coming with anchovies but I only got one. My main was a seafood pasta with "spicy" red sauce; however, even though I like spicy food in the normal sense, this dish was so hot I couldn't finish it (tasted like it was dosed heavily with Cajon hot sauce. Should have been milder with hot sauce served on the side. Gelato was ok and espresso was good but, despite asking, they could not provide the traditional coffee bean for the sambuca. Was not a great experience even though the cost was up there. This is a pricy american restaurant with an Italian veneer. But I must add in fairness that my wife's salad and swordfish were excellent...maybe I just had bad luck.

Our server was so accommodating. My lunch companion made a mistake in ordering and received risotto with shrimp (she does not like shrimp). Shrimp was clearly listed in the menu...so this was not the fault of the restaurant. The server resubmitted the order and brought the risotto without shrimp.

Robin was a good waitress. Entree of crabmeat-stuffed trout was terrible. Presentation with piece of brown-colored trout skin sitting solo on a plate ...not even a piece of parsley --- was unappetizing. I boycotted this restaurant from past experiences and only went there because of convenience.

Tesori is one of our favorite spots. We enjoy bringing visiting friends to Happy Hour. We appreciate that we can make a reservation and can check our coats while attending the CSO. Additionally, we have never been disappointed with our food and drink...it's always been top drawer! The service is good and the atmosphere is lovely.

My wife and I have tried tesori several times and have been consistently disappointed. The menu is limited, the food very mediocre especially given the high price. We have eaten there because of the proximity to the Chicago Symphony and the resulting convenience. The atmosphere and service have been always great, and we would absolutely be willing to splurge once in a while if the food were even average. As it is, I believe we are done and will give up some convenience for better food.

Our recent visit to Tesori was disappointing. Service was poor; don't know if our waiter had too many tables or if he just wasn't that good, but it took an excessively long time for him to take our food order (we had to wave him over for that) and to bring our food. Our wine was initially delivered to the wrong table. Further, when our food finally came, my husband's pasta was cold and my salmon was not properly prepared. Both dishes went back; his pasta came back warmed but my salmon was still not cooked right. By the time they returned my salmon a third time, he was finished with his dinner, my salmon was dry and overcooked, and I had pretty much lost my appetite (not to mention that it was getting close to our show time because of all the delays). The manager did bring the food over and apologize profusely; he also comped my dinner and our dessert. However, that doesn't change the poor dining experience overall.

I will say that Tesori is very convenient for pre-concert dining if one is going to the Chicago Symphony; it's in the same building. It will also be crowded with others who are taking advantage of that convenience so a reservation is definitely necessary.

We have eaten at Tesori three times, and this will likely be our last time there. The first time we went, we had a similarly poor experience. However, after a time, we noted that it was still quite crowded and acknowledged that perhaps our first bad experience had been a one off, so we tried again. Our second experience there was positive, so we went ahead with this third reservation and had the disappointing experience described here. A 33% satisfaction rate just doesn't cut it for me, given the choice of so many other excellent restaurants nearby.

With a captured crowd of CSO attendees, Tesori will do in a pinch.

However, I wouldn't recommend the dining room - as the bar area has ostensibly the same menu (with the benefit of Happy Hour specials).

The fish entree on the night I dined there was less than note-worthy (in fact my guest noted that they could have made the same at home for a fraction of the cost). Service was okay - but for future reference - stick to basics - pizza, small apps and avoid anything higher priced entrees - they simply aren't worth it.

Wine selection is okay but nothing heart-pounding.

Four of us dined at Tesori pre-Symphony; three of us had the whitefish special, one had scallops. Four of us left very satisfied with our decisions. I can personally promise that was an exceptionally tasty whitefish! Service was prompt without being rushed. It was a delightful lead-in to the Symphony.

Tesori is good for those who are CSO-bound. It's convenient, especially when the weather is inclement. Would I go to Tesori otherwise? Probably not. While the food is good, it's not a go-to place. But for what it is, Tesori is fine.

Chose this restaurant as it was near the theater and glad we did. Went during happy hour so prices were good. Also ordered dinner (lasagne) which came promptly and was also quite good, albeit a tad on the cool side. We sat in the bar area (though had the choice to sit in the dining area), but was not noisy. Overall a good dining experience.

The seating area is a bit cramped. The space between tables is so close the server's rear was at my head when he was serving the table next to us. The aisle for servers to come to & from the kitchen is so narrow there were several times servers would have to jockey for position, which was especially distracting since our table was just inside the dining area.
The service & food was outstanding, though, so I'd go back & just ask for a different table.

Excellent evening. Meal and service were absolutely wonderful. Took my mother and vegetarian daughter along with a lactose intolerant friend. Attended on a symphony night so there was an a la carte menu that was able to cater to everyone.
Had ordered the filet medium and when the waiter checked on how everything was quickly saw my steak was well done. Was replaced immediately and even though the first one was not the way I ordered, it was still delicious. My replacement was cooked to my perfection and melted like butter in my mouth.
My daughter's friend was extremely impressed and my mother thought it was an amazing experience as well.
Loved that the restaurant was attached to the theater in order to utilize valet service for the whole evening. Will definitely be dining here again.

Great place for a quick bite before going to the Chicago Symphony or to the theater as well as for a nice, leisurely dinner. We were there recently for dinner before going to a play. The cocktails were good, the wine adequate, the appetizer too spicy, the salad good and the entree awful. The stuffed Rainbow Trout came out mushy instead of firm to the touch. The appetizer was seasoned with red chilies but the seeds were left in making the dish too hot for my wife. Dessert was ok. Service was competent. Room was noisy. I won't be going back except for a cocktail at the bar.

Starting with the valet parker, Jose was most courteous, and went out of his way to help me and my disabled wife. Once seated, the waitress was very friendly. Somehow, however, the kitchen did not get my order of lamb chops right because they were served with garlic, but everyone had been informed both when I made the reservation and when the waitress took our order, that I cannot eat garlic. The manager quickly came over, apologized, and got a fresh plate put together in a hurry for me; he also comped my dinner, which was greatly appreciated.
