Accommodating 40 to 400 people, guests can enjoy an intimate affair in the glass-walled private dining room, a semi-private event in the lounge or the urban garden or host a larger party in the route 66 main dining room. Restaurant buy-outs also available.
View Private Dining DetailsRobin was a good waitress. Entree of crabmeat-stuffed trout was terrible. Presentation with piece of brown-colored trout skin sitting solo on a plate ...not even a piece of parsley --- was unappetizing. I boycotted this restaurant from past experiences and only went there because of convenience.
Great food and exceptional staff. Our service was prompt, professional and knowledgable.
Tesori is one of our favorite spots. We enjoy bringing visiting friends to Happy Hour. We appreciate that we can make a reservation and can check our coats while attending the CSO. Additionally, we have never been disappointed with our food and drink...it's always been top drawer! The service is good and the atmosphere is lovely.
My wife and I have tried tesori several times and have been consistently disappointed. The menu is limited, the food very mediocre especially given the high price. We have eaten there because of the proximity to the Chicago Symphony and the resulting convenience. The atmosphere and service have been always great, and we would absolutely be willing to splurge once in a while if the food were even average. As it is, I believe we are done and will give up some convenience for better food.
Service is EXCELLENT! Everyone is so kind and attentive. They remember you, too.
Our recent visit to Tesori was disappointing. Service was poor; don't know if our waiter had too many tables or if he just wasn't that good, but it took an excessively long time for him to take our food order (we had to wave him over for that) and to bring our food. Our wine was initially delivered to the wrong table. Further, when our food finally came, my husband's pasta was cold and my salmon was not properly prepared. Both dishes went back; his pasta came back warmed but my salmon was still not cooked right. By the time they returned my salmon a third time, he was finished with his dinner, my salmon was dry and overcooked, and I had pretty much lost my appetite (not to mention that it was getting close to our show time because of all the delays). The manager did bring the food over and apologize profusely; he also comped my dinner and our dessert. However, that doesn't change the poor dining experience overall.
I will say that Tesori is very convenient for pre-concert dining if one is going to the Chicago Symphony; it's in the same building. It will also be crowded with others who are taking advantage of that convenience so a reservation is definitely necessary.
We have eaten at Tesori three times, and this will likely be our last time there. The first time we went, we had a similarly poor experience. However, after a time, we noted that it was still quite crowded and acknowledged that perhaps our first bad experience had been a one off, so we tried again. Our second experience there was positive, so we went ahead with this third reservation and had the disappointing experience described here. A 33% satisfaction rate just doesn't cut it for me, given the choice of so many other excellent restaurants nearby.
The waiter was attentive and informative. The food was excellent. It was an excellent dinner before the concert.
The only attribute this restaurant has is its convenience to symphony hall,
Very convenient before the symphony. Food has improved. Pasta with lobster was delicious.
With a captured crowd of CSO attendees, Tesori will do in a pinch.
However, I wouldn't recommend the dining room - as the bar area has ostensibly the same menu (with the benefit of Happy Hour specials).
The fish entree on the night I dined there was less than note-worthy (in fact my guest noted that they could have made the same at home for a fraction of the cost). Service was okay - but for future reference - stick to basics - pizza, small apps and avoid anything higher priced entrees - they simply aren't worth it.
Wine selection is okay but nothing heart-pounding.
Great stop after seeing Hamilton. The surroundings, service and food were warm and inviting.
Unremarkable food with okay service but nothing special on either count. The good = it's VERY convenient to the Chicago Symphony Center located just around the corner.
Four of us dined at Tesori pre-Symphony; three of us had the whitefish special, one had scallops. Four of us left very satisfied with our decisions. I can personally promise that was an exceptionally tasty whitefish! Service was prompt without being rushed. It was a delightful lead-in to the Symphony.
Tesori is good for those who are CSO-bound. It's convenient, especially when the weather is inclement. Would I go to Tesori otherwise? Probably not. While the food is good, it's not a go-to place. But for what it is, Tesori is fine.
Delicious food
Chose this restaurant as it was near the theater and glad we did. Went during happy hour so prices were good. Also ordered dinner (lasagne) which came promptly and was also quite good, albeit a tad on the cool side. We sat in the bar area (though had the choice to sit in the dining area), but was not noisy. Overall a good dining experience.
Always a great experience! Fantastic for any reason or season.
The seating area is a bit cramped. The space between tables is so close the server's rear was at my head when he was serving the table next to us. The aisle for servers to come to & from the kitchen is so narrow there were several times servers would have to jockey for position, which was especially distracting since our table was just inside the dining area.
The service & food was outstanding, though, so I'd go back & just ask for a different table.
Excellent evening. Meal and service were absolutely wonderful. Took my mother and vegetarian daughter along with a lactose intolerant friend. Attended on a symphony night so there was an a la carte menu that was able to cater to everyone.
Had ordered the filet medium and when the waiter checked on how everything was quickly saw my steak was well done. Was replaced immediately and even though the first one was not the way I ordered, it was still delicious. My replacement was cooked to my perfection and melted like butter in my mouth.
My daughter's friend was extremely impressed and my mother thought it was an amazing experience as well.
Loved that the restaurant was attached to the theater in order to utilize valet service for the whole evening. Will definitely be dining here again.
Pre Hamilton Dinner for family of four
Great food, great variety, great service
Great traditional Italian with a flair! Service was good but not a quick business lunch
Service was great but the venue was better. Will be a staple for business lunches. Enough room for a private conversation.
Food was ok, service was ok, quick but not very friendly/happy staff.
Maybe I’m spoiled, from many other excellent restaurants in downtown 🤔
Great place for a quick bite before going to the Chicago Symphony or to the theater as well as for a nice, leisurely dinner. We were there recently for dinner before going to a play. The pizzas were outstanding and the salad was large enough for 2 of us to share. We've had their seafood in the past and that was wonderful, too.
Very good service and food. We selected it as it was close to the CSO. We were not disappointed.
The cocktails were good, the wine adequate, the appetizer too spicy, the salad good and the entree awful. The stuffed Rainbow Trout came out mushy instead of firm to the touch. The appetizer was seasoned with red chilies but the seeds were left in making the dish too hot for my wife. Dessert was ok. Service was competent. Room was noisy. I won't be going back except for a cocktail at the bar.
Starting with the valet parker, Jose was most courteous, and went out of his way to help me and my disabled wife. Once seated, the waitress was very friendly. Somehow, however, the kitchen did not get my order of lamb chops right because they were served with garlic, but everyone had been informed both when I made the reservation and when the waitress took our order, that I cannot eat garlic. The manager quickly came over, apologized, and got a fresh plate put together in a hurry for me; he also comped my dinner, which was greatly appreciated.
Tesori is our favorite dinner place on our way to the CSO.
Excellent food and service
We celebrated 2 birthdays and had a great celebration. Gnocchi was our favorite! Service was great.
We were going to the Symphony that night. Tesori is in the same building and kept our need to have prompt and efficient service in mind. With a varied menu supported by a great kitchen we all enjoyed a very fine meal served by a knowledgeable, pleasant waitstaff. We will definitely have to go back when there’s no concern about a schedule!
Food and service good. Cookie plate dessert was substandard.
Our waiter Claudio was efficient, knowledgeable, and funny.
THE CAPRESSE SALAD WAS NOT GOOD. I EXPECTED TOMATOES (2 GRAPE SIZE), MOZZERELLA (OK), BUT NOT A BREAD CRUMB FILLER! EXPENSIVE AND NOT WORTH IT.
All good, as usual , but the bruschetta is so thick as to be difficult to cut and to eat. Would be much better if on thinner slices of bread.
Wwe chose the restaurant because of its proximity to the Symphony. It was a good choice. The food was delicious with enough options to satisfy everyone. The waiter made sure we got our meals in plenty of time to dine without a rush.
Excellent dinner spot before Chicago Symphony. I eaten there for years. The best trick is early reservation, as closer to concert time, the place gets very crowded and service slower. I usually get regular entree (fish) with kale salad (very yummy), however pizza is surprisingly delicious. Avoid the lasagna-dry and rather tasteless.
Great food and great service and great specialty drinks. Perfect dining for pre or post performances at the Symphony Center.
Convenient to the symphony.
