Terzo (which means third in Italian) offers a daily changing menu of about 15 small plates and 5 large plates. Its “pan-Mediterranean” fare changes based on local ingredients. The wine list offers over 80 options of European and Californian wines chosen to pair with the food.
A high communal table sits between the bar and dining room and offers seating for up to 10 diners. Additional walk-in seating is available on 3 high tops in the front window. Espresso leather banquets line the dining room. A more intimate back dining room can be booked for private parties of up to 18.
Inspired by the wine bars and cafes of Sicily, Rome, Seville & Madrid, wines are stored along the walls of the dining room. An original fireplace was refurbished and is lit when the weather is chilly out. Stylish lighting creates a chic atmosphere.

Terzo Ratings and Reviews
What a great experience we had from the moment we walked in! We had the wonderful green apple bruschetta (an absolute must), the roasted winter vegetables (cooked to perfection), the steak (my husband had it and he loved it), the salmon (I loved it--super tasty veggies underneath the superbly prepared fish), and two desserts: the delicious apple crisp and the divine almond cake, which were both perfect finishes. We also ordered the crispy onions. As you can see, we ate a lot! And enjoyed every bite. As well, our server was fantastic. It was a lovely anniversary dinner experience!
Nice place with good service, but food wasn't the best. Salt was the culprit. The Fresh Fettuccine was too salty but not nearly as bad as the Crispy Chicken Breast which was so over-salted it was hard to eat. The Roasted Wild Coho Salmon was excellent though. I would probably go back but request low sodium on everything.
Terzo was so great! First of all, they accommodated a party that grew from 4 to 8. Second, service was lovely. Last, and most important, everything we had was delicious. Appetizers: hummus, grilled calamari, halloumi, meatballs (!!); large plates of skirt steak, salmon, and chicken. We shared some wine and everyone was pleasantly surprised by how inexpensive it was!
I gave service 3 Stars only because our waitress was off. She ignored us then came over, without even asking if we had any questions or if it was our first time there, took our order. We were not done with the appetizer before our main entree came to the table. I finally had to ask if we had offended her or if we had done something wrong. This woke her up and a nearby waitress and manager came and took care of us for the rest of the evening. Food is fabulous. We try and go there every time we are in the city. Great selections of wine. This won’t stop me from returning because it is well worth it.
Delicious meal in a classy spot, nicer on the interior! Our waitress and kitchen was very accommodating for our vegan friend, adapting the salads and plates by putting dairy on the side. They even crafted a fresh fruit, off-the-menu desert for us! Would definitely return.
Disappointing. Food was fine, but nothing really popped flavor-wise. We ordered the beet salad, crispy polenta, panzanella, and meatballs. All Small Plates and proportionally well sized dishes. Beet salad was meh. Polenta was bland and sauce with it too salty. Panzanella had a few breadcrumbs instead of the typical bread salad that it's name implies. Meatball dish was tasty. Chocolate tart was nothing great - too much caramel sauce on it. Server had a definite personality but never came to check on us and was a bit too curt with some of his responses.
Do not recommend eating here though I could see coming in for a nice glass of wine. It's a nice space and our wine was good.
We came here to celebrate our anniversary and were not disappointed! Every dish was delicious, from tender and flavorful meat balls on the bed of polenta to amazing grilled squid with caviar lentils. We also shared Moroccan chicken and it was superb. Our waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. Her recommendations were spot on! Great experience overall! Will come again...
We had a late reservation and had to wait quite a while to be seated and we're then felt rushed through our meal. I prefer to relax between courses. The service was otherwise excellent. The food was very tasty but over priced in my opinion for what we got. We're not from the San Francisco area so it may not have been that out of the ordinary. We are not from the San Francisco area so only had 2 other restaurants to compare it to while we visited but for quality of food and service I would say this was the best.
