I loved the overall layout and atmosphere of Terzo – It was relaxed and noise level was energetic but not disruptive. A great atmosphere would be worthless unless the food met the same standard and it did. The menu was creative and for the most part, "outstanding", though we were not that impressed with the Artichoke dish as it seemed to lack flavor and not worth the ~$12 price-tag. The grilled calamari was amazing and we ordered it as an appetizer and then again as part of our entrees! Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable and the Barolo we had was delicious.
I definitely would return to try more dishes!
First, the good news. The food was good and the service was excellent.
Now, the bad news. Noise level makes civilized conversation (except by sign language) virtually impossible, making for an unpleasant overall experience.
More importantly, the restaurant's seating policy is dishonest, to say the least. In spite of specifically requesting a quiet table with our reservation, the hostess denied seating us in an empty quiet back room, stating that the tables "were saved for parties of four." During our meal, at least two parties of two diners were seated in the quiet room, making a mockery of her words.
We had a very good experience here recently. We were greeted by friendly host, promptly seated and our server was very professional. We all loved our food. Prices not exorbitant, but on the high side.
An excellent place to enjoy a mellow meal with a friend or romantic partner. I really enjoyed their small plates: calamari, roasted vegetables, and lamb keftas were delicious. Their large plate my friend and I shared was a very memorable chicken and orzo. Simple and really good! I can't wait to come here again!
Had the mushroom pasta and it was incredible! The mix of mushrooms was delicious and the handmade pasta could not have been cooked more perfectly!
Terzo was an amazing experience and we ended up sitting out our table past closing. The staff was great and the food was delicious as always. Highly recommended
I enjoyed everything and so did my date. I was seated facing the wall/mirror so that was my only "complaint"...I didn't get to see the rest of restaurant or really take it in. Next time!! Yummy food from Appetizer to entree and fantastic dessert!
I do love a good cocktail so kinda wish you served cocktails in addition to wine.
Awesome, delightful service!
great, all around
Always an amazing dining experience
The service was standard to most restaurants in the Mission. It wasn't bad, just not nearly as exciting as the prices would have one expect.
These days a lot of one-off restaurants do the same things to feel unique: Edison light-bulbs, open kitchens, and fusion-y cuisine. In the end they all offer slightly snobby service, overpriced small plates, and forgettable entrees.
Terzo can be mistaken for Belga. Belga can be mistaken for Palm House. Palm House can be mistaken for an Abercrombie & Fitch staffed by bros. The only thing that can differentiate restaurants like these are the hashtag'd photos where customers bothered to add the location on their Instagram.
There isn't anything wrong with Terzo, but there also isn't anything exceptionally right with it either. My date and I never said "wow" until we looked at the bill, but that was more of a "really?"
Such a cute and cozy neighborhood gem. Food, service, and ambiance are all outstanding.
The website food photos were overrated. The food had no special taste. The ambiance was very good. Overall, a culinary disappointment.
Always enjoy the food and atmosphere at Terzo. Love the meatballs and pork dish!
Outstanding service, some of the best food I’ve had in San Francisco and a very friendly waiter.
We were a table of 7 and ordered soup, pasta, beets, meatballs, chicken, keftas, pork, and
shared 3 desserts. All were delicious. Wine enjoyed by all. Server Phil was excellent and attentive. We had such a good time and hope our enthusiasm didn't disturb other diners.
Excellent as always, food was delicious, service was a little slow, but good overall.
Great food for good value! Highly recommend the flourless chocolate cake.
Best time ever!
I love Terzo.
The service was spot on as usual. Food was delish. Gnocchi rocked, wine list is awesome. A neighborhood
Very friendly waitstaff and the food is excellent. The three of us ordered the braised pork shoulder, the Moroccan chicken and the chimichuri skirt steak with the homemade pita bread and hummus, beets and polenta mushroom starters. I will definitely return.
Annual Ladies Night with old friends.
This is my favorite restaurant. Delicious, fresh food and great ambiance. Just make sure to avoid being sat in the back room.
In a word, “ Terzoriffic!” We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the wine, and the service was quiet and quick. We will definitely return!
always good food and service and not too loud depending on where one sits
Everything was amazing! Service, food, and we tried six items from the menu and all were outstanding. We’ll be back!
Great food and great service
The food was excellent. We had most of the small plates and they were all very, very good. Service was exceptional. The waiter understood the menu and quickly understood our interests and was extremely helpful. He took care of the service without being bothersome. Fun atmosphere, with not too much noise, so that you could here your table speaking in normal tones of voice
Great food, fantastic wine, beautiful decor...great dining experience
Service is very friendly. They remember what
you like. The quality of ingredients is very good
We enjoyed it very much
We went for restaurant week, and couldn't have been more pleased with the food. Starter was seared scallops, main was skirt steak, and dark chocolate tart for dessert. Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent too. Can't wait to go back. One minor downside, no cocktails.
It was a lovely night with great food and our waiter was fantastic.
Great for early dining before it fills up....
Waiter friendly helpful advice.
Small portions but enough.
Every thing great.
Scallops were cooked until they were black. Tasted like charcoal. Mushrooms on the steak were also way over cooked.
Excellent choices. We opted for one full plate, Chicken chacatorri, and three small, plenty for two. The grilled octopus was some of the best. Lumberjack Cake, whatever that means, was really delicious, and adding one scoop of vanilla ice cream was a good idea.
What a great experience - from the minute we sat down and throughout the meal. Our server, Nicole, was warm, friendly and helpful. We never felt rushed. The food was great....we'll definitely be back.
We had a good time with good food. Would go back again.
Great local spot. Quite, great vibe, simple yet delicious food.
Delicious food with amazing flavors. Great waistaff and bartenders. All around excellent dining experience.
Food was good. Waiter was average--not really interested. Disappointed that although I
notified the restaurant upon making the reservation that it was our 34th anniversary, there
was no acknowledgement. Watched as the waiter made special accommodations to tables
on either side because he knew the diners.
Excellent food & service. Consistent quality, share plates, surprising neighborhood gem.
