Always a lovely, personal experience with great food.
There is good food, and then there is great food! This was probably one of the top two restaurants I have ever been to. A lady leaving as we entered said “the fillet is to DIE for”, so we took her word for it and she did not lie! We also enjoyed the wine and even tried escargot! Amazing!!! We will definitely be back! Bon appetit!
Tersiguel's was wonderful as always. The menu is superb and always has a unique and creative special or two, the service provides just the right level of attentiveness, and we were able to spend a long evening enjoying dinner, wine, and dessert.
We have read such great reviews but ended up feeling that the restaurant was significantly over-rated. While the presentation was nice, my wife's rockfish tasted "fishy." I asked that my lamb be cooked medium rare - I guess the chef didn't agree, because it was served very rare. Now I've finally had Lamb Tartare! Back to Petit Louis Bistro!
Excellent dinner and great service. Lamb and rockfish entrees were great and the flourless chocolate cake was fantastic. Will return. Very comfortable setting.
Tersiguels restaurant seems to me a harmonious blend of great French cuisine set within the charm of an old, historic Ellicott City. There's nothing patently pretentious here, but that's what so ingratiating about the dining experience given that he mood is informal, yet the staff invariably wears tuxes - a nice touch. Although I've only frequented Tersiguels twice as of this writing (February 2018), each experience has been thoroughly satisfying with a rich, varied menu and impeccable service. Regrettably its been a while since I've been to Paris to experience the many fabulous no-star restaurants, but I could envision Tersiguels located in a somewhat off the beaten path section of the city. Only recommendation would include using Uber or Lyft for transportation since parking in historic Ellicott City can be frustrating during peak dining hours.
I found this place to be over priced and stuffy. Neither of us enjoyed our dish. Would not recommend to anyone, and will not return.
So disappointing. I had such high hopes that this place was going to be delicious. I would absolutely drive a little further to find a better restaurant.
Delicious meals, the wild lamb was superb, each bite was delightful, great suggestion for wine pairing, lovely setting ats usual.
Fantastic service and food
As always outstanding.
Snarky servers, even with the Valentine’s Day crush, are never a plus.
We had a wonderful time. The atmosphere (including the surrounding Old Ellicott City) and service were highlights. We went for Valentine's Day, and I suppose because of the busyness of it, their only option for the night was a four-course meal. It was a surprise not having a menu and not choosing the meal, but we actually prefer fewer options. The downside was, there was only one price (and it was high). Neither of us drink and sometimes we avoid dessert for whatever reason, so we wouldn't have minded the option to not do that.
Had Valentine's Dinner. Fixed menu was okay but I notified the restaurant about allergies. they accommodated on the day by substituting Confit of Duck for Fish but put the duck in the same cream sauce prepared for the duck - totally inappropriate. balance of meal was good though expensive.
Service was poor - Maitre D advised on wine (which was good) but after promising the name of the wine never saw him again. other servers very poorly trained... the $80+pp meal was served in less than an hour with no time between courses. utensils I used for may starter were replaced on the table for the next course. espresso was not available.
overall, while i like the restaurant and have been here before i will think twice before returning again. very disappointed.
Great as always 😎
Valentine's day fixed menu. FANTASTIC experience!!
Valentines dinner. Set menu. Staff had a good rhythm. Filet and wine was excellent. Service was spot on.
Everything was very nice.
Tersiguel's serves Baltimore city fare at NYC prices. Dinner consisted of an overly expensive chef's 'tasting menu' of just four courses, one of which was essentially a throw away as it was considered a palate cleanser for the dessert course. To say I was underwhelmed is putting it lightly. Spending ~$250 on a single meal (wine and tip included) should provide a memorable experience, and Tersiguel's was simply not up to the task. Save your money for Volt, the Charleston, or La Cuchara, local institutions that are truly worth the cost.
Outstanding French restaurant! I recommend Tersiguel to friends and family members. I have never had a mediocre meal there. The ambiance is great and the service is excellent.
Celebrated our anniversary. Have been enjoying this restaurant for over 20 years and have never been disappointed.
Service was outstanding. The food was excellent. The ambiance was terrific. A wonderful restaurant for special occasions.
Tersiguels was an unexpected find! We wanted to do an early Valentines Day and could not have made a better decision to eat here. Charlie, our waiter, was amazing! I’m also glad our reservations were earlier as we had more time to talk with Charlie, who is super knowledgeable about the restaurant. As the night went on they got busier and it got a little louder. The food was amazing! Perfect portion size and the flavors went so well together. We didn’t really order from the menu because the specials for the night sounded so good and we were definitely pleased. This is not a place to come to if you need to eat quickly, although they did ask if we had to be somewhere. We plan to make this our Valentines Day spot from now on!
A lovely experience with wonderful service. Our waiter was extremely knowledgable about all of the selections and made sure we had a relaxing meal. Nice ambience and a good change from our regular go-to spots. The rockfish was cooked to perfection!
Avoid restaurant week. The portions were small and we ordered additional dishes to taste. The fresh oysters were good but there were pieces of shell found in most of the dozen shucked oysters. We went to celebrate a Birthday and surprising the restaurant never acknowledged especially we put it in our Open table reservation.
Dined there for restaurant week. La Soupe de Poissons de Bretagne was very tasty, and delicately seasoned.
Great service, fantastic food and delicious drinks. Worth every penny.
Had a very good meal. The night was quiet and the service couldn't have been better. If you like french food, you'll love Tersiguel's.
Largely positive but beef bourginon was a little tough
Food is expertly executed, extremely flavorful, generally portioned well and a model for fine French cuisine. The atmosphere is perfect. Service is always noteworthy, though our waiter seemed a bit uncomfortable in his role. The menu seemed a little “compact” this visit. I really missed the mussels! Highly recommended!
Our food was delicious. However, our waitress was a bit brusque and a little late with things. I guess for this price we expected everything to be top-notch. Also we went in the winter and we were cold in the front left room.
We had a really special night at Tersiguel's! I friend recommended it and we were not disappointed. Te service was great, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was spot on. We will definitely be back.
Food and service is always top notch. Excellent place for a special occasion.
Is Tersiguel's one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten in? Compared to the best restaurants in NY, Chicago, Milan, Hong Kong, Rome, Berlin, no. But it is very, very good. The room in which we sat (in the back of the house, room with atrium) was elegant, cozy and QUIET (we are sick of loud restaurants where normal conversation is nearly impossible). My wife had a shrimp appetizer that she declared to be "perfectly cooked" and the NY strip entree which she declared "a little bland, could use some salt." My pate appetizer and duck confit legs were excellent. Service was very good, a little slow to start but picked right up and was never intrusive. Pacing of the dinner was perfect. What we loved wasn't the individual parts, but the totality of the experience. Food, service, and atmosphere all came together to produce an utterly enjoyable evening. Really good westside suburb fine dining restaurants are hard to come by. I'm happy Tersiguel's exists within easy reach of our home.
Always good, never disappoints. Not inexpensive but not outlandish and again, always good.
Fresh. Creative. Always great. Wonderful service. Great wines.
The wine list is pricy as well as the menu. For just two of us we hit $200 quickly. The food was excellent - taste and presentation - and the service was wonderful. I started with the fish soup. It was very tasty. The presentation was in a large bowl and the soup was poured at the table. Great - except that the soup was then spread over a large area to a thin depth in a cold bowl. That combination made the soup cool very quickly. For the main course, I got the lamb. The initial shock was getting eight pieces of lamb that were each a little larger than a quarter in size. They were melt-in-your-mouth yummy and served on a bed of equally tasty garlic sauce. I had room for dessert. The crème caramel was some of the best I had ever tasted - very creamy - very good. I was comfortable when I left, but hungry by the time I got home. I guess that was better than feeling too stuffed.
Wonderful dining experience. We celebrated my birthday with a lovely romantic dinner for two. The food was amazing and the service was exceptional. The cocktail drink menu is delicious. Yu must try the pear martini. I had the beet salad and it was heavenly. We don't dine here often but always have a wonderful time when we do. This is a real Ellicott City gem.
Excellent food in a quiet, comfortable atmosphere. Parking available at the rear. Service was wonderful, food was delightful.
We really enjoyed our return here after a long hiatus since it is quite a distance for us. We were greeted warmly on a cold night and had excellent service throughout from our main waitress and a waiter who assisted. Highlights were a special soup (creamy fennel, potato, and cress poured over roasted radicchio with a long crouton), a light and savory beet salad, a country-style pate, the lemon curd and blackberry dessert, and an excellent vanilla creme brulee. There is something for every taste on the menu and we appreciated having a nice crusty baguette to nibble throughout the meal. The wine list has a nice selection and by-the-glass offerings are plenty varied and quite good. The dining room is on the small side, but feels larger because of its high ceiling and long windows with floor-length drapes. Overall it was quiet, but being small, you could not help but hear what people were saying at other tables from time to time.
Our first visit, already plannng to return. Quiet, delicious meal and drinks. Service was spot on, wait staff has their timing down pat.
Loved it. Well worth it.
