TerraSole Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
What a treasure. It was such a surprise to go to this little tucked away gem of a restaurant with superior service and fantastic food. The interior made me feel like I was at a chic little place in the foothills of Italy. I loved the place. Highly recommended. Pricey but worth it.
My sister and I met for their special Brunch menu, a meal more than ample for midday. We both had the soup de jour, butternut squash with chopped up rock lobster and me,ted cheese on top. I had had this on another occasion and it was just as delicious this time around. My sisters crepes were excellent accompanied by tasty potatoes and a small salad. I ordered the special pasta dish- layered with veal, mushrooms in a delicious tomato sauce topped with be handled sauce. Tasted wonderful except for the bottom layers of pasta that stuck together and barely yielded to the knife when I tried to cut it into. Item size pieces. Dessert was biscotti and a small glass of the cello of the day. We ordered tea as a nice ending for our brunch.
My wife and I had dinner before a show and it was exceptional in every way. We had some special dietary restrictions and the server took care of all our needs. The menu was extensive and excited to perfection. It was very busy but you were made to feel as if you were the only table. The manager checked on us, the staff was attentive and every detail attended to. Have not had such a fine dining experience in a long time. BRAVO!
Servers were polite and attentive however......It was a Wednesday night and somewhat busy. Party of 4. One person received wrong dish , which was quickly resolved. Another person had to wait 15 minutes after rest of the party was served entree for their food to arrive. Food was average . 2 people ordered tea. Both received a mug of hot water and then it took 5 minutes for someone to bring them the tea bags. 4 shots of a chocolate aperitif were brought unrequested to table as "compensation"? for the mix ups. 3 of the 4 people at the table don't drink alcohol. We won't be back. For the cost, there are other choices in town.
An outstanding example of truly fine dining. We always check the specials and the black risotto with mussels, clams and rock shrimp served with a lobster tail on top was amazing. Perfectly prepared and presented. Equally delicious was the pumpkin ravioli special. The staff was friendly and attentive but without being overly intrusive. Scott, the manager, made the rounds to ensure that everything was done to your satisfaction. A not to be missed restaurant. A final note about something I feel is important. Where many restaurants have busboys hovering to remove your plate, no one removed any dish until everyone had finished their meal.
We went before a concert at the Ridgefield Theater so we made the mistake of having a drink at the bar first. When we finally ordered dinner we were the last ones served of the people who were also going to the concert. The food was excellent, we just couldn't finish because we were already late for the show. This was our fault, not the restaurant's. Next time we know to just go straight into the dining room and all will be well. I wish I had the rest of my pasta right now!
The menu is really varied and appealing. Everything I've had there has been consistently delicious, fresh and original. It does get pretty crowded at peak hours, especially in the summer. Prepare for an occasional wait for a table. But...good for them. It's deserved.
The food and wine are excellent and unique. Not your usual Italian recipes and it's nice to try their specialties. We struggled a bit with the noise level. It's hard to hold a conversation because it's a busy place on a Friday night. We also felt a bit bothered by the wait/bus staff. I guess they were just trying to keep on top of our table but we kept being interrupted for clearing items off the table. So, we'd recommend it but if you're looking for a quiet languorous meal you'd need something else.
Took extended family from out of town for dinner - first time at the restaurant. The entire experience could not have been better. We made reservations prior to a comedy show at the Playhouse. We were quickly seated outside with blankets for those who were a bit chilly and the service was phenomenal. We enjoyed the house selection (Brunello) and two of us had the seafood stew, one had the braised short ribs and the other had lasagna. Each meal was impeccably prepared and we finished with great desserts. This has become one of our favorite restaurants in Fairfield county and we made dinner reservations again two nights later. If you want great food with terrific ambiance and top notch service, you need to try TerraSole!
Very interesting menu. Our apps (salads) and mains (chicken, fish) were both good, but not great. Service was terrible - they seemed short-handed for a Saturday night. Nice wine list - good selection of wines by glass. A bit pricey for what it was - seemed to be pricing for innovative menu not actual taste.
Perfect Evening, we have been several times and always fantastic. We sat outside and enjoyed a bottle of wine followed by superb food which was presented as good as it tasted. Service was great and the special touches set it a part. They make you feel at home.
Outstanding experience... Food and the service both top notch.. The wine list is also on the same level. I had the Val Di Suga Brunello 2011 recommended by the waiter. Very knowlegable and friendly waiter by the way. No complaints at all except the place was packed. Nothing you can do. Best Italian food in Ridgefield by far.
Great menu with something for everyone. Great gluten free pasta options. We had an issue with the cocktails we ordered and the owner could not have been nicer. Even gave us complimentary drinks and after dinner drinks. Also great for lunch with a $20 prix fixe menu.
After having dined here numerous times over the past eight years, we have finally decided never again. We used to enjoy dining here, especially for a special occasion, and also used to give gift cards to others for the restaurant. Never again.
The quality of the food has slipped a bit, but the main issue is that they have begun charging outrageous prices for smaller portions. As an example, for our most recent dinner two of us ordered one of the specials: lobster ravioli. For this $32 entree we received four medium sized raviolis, with a teaspoon of lobster in the middle and no sauce or other accompaniments. It was absolutely ridiculous. They made no apology and Pietro, the owner, who loves to mingle with the guests never emerged nor did the manager respond to our e-mail or written comments we left on their own form requesting feedback. Mike, our server, was apathetic as well.
While I wish we could attribute this to one bad experience, it is a pattern which is why we will not return and have shared our experiences with others. I had arranged for a large party from work to have lunch here two months ago and they did the same with a special ravioli entree offering -- three small raviolis with nothing else. My colleagues laughed and asked for the server to return the bread basket so we could avoid leaving hungry. Again, no apology or acknowledgement from our server the manager or Pietro to our disappointment.
It's a shame as this used to be a go to restaurant for us. Look elsewhere locally for good Italian food at Bartolo, as well as Bailey's and Luc's for other exceptional fare.
We had a fantastic meal on the outdoor terrace. The beet salad and eggplant appetizers were superb. The handcrafted cocktails were delicious too. We did not forget the desert - banana and chocolate beignets with cappuccino gelato. Great service and fun atmosphere.
