TerraSole Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
fantastic food, wine and service at our bargain prixe fixe lunch was reason enough for us to return for dinner. We were not disappointed. The informative servers who are so nice, as is the owner Pietro, helped to make both meals incredible. We loved the buratta, best ever, and the meat and cheese sampling. Our buratta filled ravioli and gazpacho of cucumber and grape was so unique and refreshing. Wine information helped us to try some amazing amarone with ideas of similar wines for the future. I wish we lived closer, 2 hr drive, so we could go more often.
The served a Prosecco to all guests as a complimentary drink which was really nice. I ordered a black risotto with seafood and was very good. The prices are very high and the minute we sat down, our waiter doesn't ask what type of wine we like but says he is going to show us 2 bottles of wine they have specials. He returns with 2 bottles both priced over $125. I just found this to be extremely pushy and inconsiderate. Other than the waiter being a bit annoying, the food and place is really nice and the owner is from Italy which means authentic Italian-Mediterranean cuisine which I really like.
We went to Terra Sole for my wife's birthday. The food was outstanding. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. The service was fine - my only complaint was the $50 corking fee we got charged for a special bottle of wine we brought with us to the restaurant. Typically restaurants in the area charge anywhere from $20-$25 for corking so I thought $50 was a little exorbitant. But that aside, if you're looking for a cozy yet lively place with top notch Italian food and you don't mind paying for it, you can't go wrong with Terra Sole.
Really delicious Italian, unlike the regular red sauce places that are rampant. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. The broccoli rabe, sausage orrechiette was wonderful. Seafood platter was fresh and perfectly cooked, nothing rubbery. So excited to find out they serve brunch ALL WEEK. My hubby and I haven't found any other place in CT that does that. Will definitely be returning. All of the staff was gracious and professional.
I have been to Terre Sole many times. This time we ate outside on a sunny day where there was a cool breeze. It was a bit warm, but the wait staff was totally on top of filling our water glasses with lots of ice. The brunch was terrific and the bottomless cocktail, a new addition to the menu superb.
It was a rainy Friday.... we were welcomed by the MD and seated immediately. We took advantage of the brunch menu (bottom less drinks) and delicious entree options. We had the soup special which was asparagus soup with olive oil and Caesar salad. Followed by the pollo Milanese and the bucatini with pancetta and egg yolk. Hands down, clean plates! We loved the biscotti that accompanied the brunch menu. Loved the service and family feel ambiance. We'll definitely be back!kudos to the entire team at TerraSole.
The cold seafood platter for 2 appetizer was spectacular. Scallops wrapped in prosciutto and filet mignon cooked to perfection and the featured wine was the perfect match. The service is top notch. I highly recommend you take the manager and server recommendations. EXCELLENT! To cold to dine outside but cant wait.
My husband and I dined at TerraSole prior to a concert last week, and had an excellent experience. The staff was attentive. We especially enjoyed Scott, who gave us tips on different menu items and treated us to a few complimentary items as well. The food was outstanding. Our favorites were the burrata appetizer and the special nutella pastry dessert. The meal was not inexpensive, but the special touches and the ambiance make it worth it for special occasion dining.
Always impressed. As my second experience here, I was warm-welcomed and enjoyed every minute here. Jen is an amazing bartender and the food is impeccable. I almost ordered the white artichoke with lump crab soup again because it was so delicious my first visit, but opted for the grilled octopus salad and halibut special instead upon Jen's recommendation. The fish was perfectly cooked and light on the sauce, just how I like it. Perfect location for vegetarians/pescatarians.
Second trip to Terra Sole both were excellent. The first visit was for a business lunch, the prices for a fixed price menu were moderate and it was great value. The second visit was with friends for dinner. The service and quality of food were outstanding , the prices were a little less attractive but not unreasonable. TerraSole is highly recommended.
Incredible first experience at Terra Sole as I dine in the area but have never been. As soon as the owner asked if everything was okay, (which I prefer more beets and goat cheese to my own liking), he brought an additional plate of beet and goat cheese to add to my insalate app. Creamed asparagus soup topped off with lump crab meat and truffle essence? Need I say more? Tipping my hat to this restaurant and staff. Bravo. Well done. Finished with a cello (chocolate, lemon, lime, orange) flight...superb. Will return. Ps. Jen is the best bartender ever!
I had passed this place a number of times and it visually was very appealing. I decided to give it a try with my daughter who was home from college. We split an order of arancini (rice balls) which were tasty even if they were a little sticky. The shaved Brussels Sprouts salad was, as reported, almost big enough to be a main course. It was very good. My daughter had an excellent Linguine Vongole with also had shrimp and sausage in the mix. Something I had never seen before, but a fabulous touch. My Vitelli alla Parmigiana was a disappointment. The panko crust was a bit soggy and the truffle Burrata was a bit of a bland choice to use on a veal chop. The service was first rate, nearby, without trying to be your friend. An exception however was the wine, as the driver and only drinker, a bottle was out of the question. I inquired about the very impressive list of wine by the glass. I asked if wine was stored in a cruvinet or in the bottle, the an inexperienced server told me it was stored in the bottle. I am very reluctant to spend $20 on a glass of wine that may have been from a bottle that has been opened for a few days. Unfortunately I found out after dinner that Terrasole has an sophisticated storage system for their wine. Too bad, I would have loved to try the Barolo. Given the prices, I am a little leery of giving this restaurant a second try. I think I will have to though, if only to try the wine.
We have been their twice and have been super impressed both times. The service is outstanding, super professional and on top of it without feeling like its intruding. The food is fantastic (try the burrata appetizer), and there are always interesting specials to keep the menu fresh. Will definitely be continuing to go back!
