Wonderful, healthy food staff and setting! Highly recommend!
Awesome venue. Beautiful desert views. Healthy food options. Great service.
Drinks slow to arrive. Food was under seasoned.
Very loud with dense echo in dining room
The first part of the evening was fine. The service was good and the cocktails arrived promptly. The salad course arrived about when it should have but then we began to wonder if our entrees were forgotten, Our waiter kept apologizing but it took for ever and the food was only mediocre. The restaurant was not overly busy so there was no excuse for a slow kitchen. The menu looks and sounds better than it is.
Start with the positive the food was excellent. What was wrong with the restaurant is their service. We waited at least 15 minutes for the server to come you he table . Then we ordered drinks from the bar Which took an additional 15to20 minutes
Our appetizer took at least 40 minutes. Our food was literally brought out with the appetizer . The manager did take our food back to be remade so we can eat our appetizer first. Dessert took about 25 minutes after it was ordered to be delivered. We ordered gelato and cheese cake that was part of the menu for Valentine’s Day.
The manager told us they were understaffed for Valentine’s Day. At the end of the meal my wife asked to speak to the manager again and the waiter told her that the manager was too busy to come over which my wife recorded the server saying and he knew it was recorded. The manager did come back to the table with a attitude.
The manager did take the drinks and appetizer off the bill. Would rather of paid for them with good service and the appetizer delivered before the entree.
Total dinner with flow service took approximately 3 hours.
Disappointed as we live and work in the area.
We can not have gluten or dairy. At Terras, we had many options and they were delicious. Also, we could get dessert and gluten free bread. The drinks were OK...a little skimpy but tasted good. Prices are very reasonable. The bus boys are terrific. They are all over the place and helpful. They could do with more waiters. We really like Terras. We now go weekly.
While the food was decent, flavor and cost wasn’t what was expected. The service was the worst, I only seen my server about once or twice and had to rely on other to receive my drink and request. I won’t be returning and will deter friends away
The waiter was fabulous..food good. When we ordered a $50 bottle of wine, he told us that we could get that one for $30 and that $30 included a charcuterie platter. That was quite nice of him, and of course we took him up on that offer. Other than that, we had had appetizers in the bar, followed by soup in the beet salad in the restaurant with the charcuterie platter. Very nice evening
Terras provided us with a great meal, healthy and delicious. We are gluten and dairy free and we had lots of options. We were very pleased with everything and plan on going back as soon as possible. Great meal.
This is the onsite restaurant at Civana resort. The menu is very limited. The entree choices are "healthy" takes on classic dishes. The servers are sweet but not quick or on the ball. It's a convenient place to eat while staying at the resort But I would recommend eating offsite.
Food was very nice. We had some of the best calamari I’ve ever had for an appetizer. Two of us had a grouper special. It was wonderful. Cocktails very good. Waiter very attentive.
The restaurant was SO COLD that most people left their jackets and winter coats on the entire time.
We enjoyed our evening at Terras Restaurant. The food was very good, the service was fine and the price was ok. There were a couple of service "misses" that might just be a result of poor training. First, the restaurant was less than half full and the hostess tried to seat us at the WORST table in the house. We had to ask to be seated elsewhere, and they were happy to accommodate us. Second, we ordered some pre-dinner martinis. Before the martinis were even served, we were asked if we were ready to order dinner. GIVE US A CHANCE TO RELAX, PLEASE! Again, I think this is a matter of training the staff properly. Otherwise, we had a pleasant experience and would go back again.
My hubby and I went for a date night. I had received a gift certificate and used it for dinner. Hubby’s steak was perfect. Seasoned and juicy. My salmon was not bad but not the best. We have an embarrassing amount of good restaurants here and I think that this one is very good but not great.
The restaurant was unbelievably cold. Made it very difficult to enjoy our meal. Ordered the chicken Caesar salad wrap ... awful and no dressing. Very disappointing. However, Lisa, our waitress, did an excellent job.
Interesting menu, well prepared, with attentive service. At the same time I do not think that Terras had a signature that would draw me to return for a special event.
Service was pretty slow for as uncrowded as it was
Loved it all. The cocktails and wine are bit pricey though.
Food was excellent. Service was great. Very enjoyable and filling. Can’t wait to go back.
Helped a friend wire his new home for tv and data cables all day. Decided to look for a place for dinner on open table. This place was close so I decided to give it a try. The food was great, the place was not busy so the food came out fast and it was not a expensive as I thought it was going to be. If your in the north care free area, stop in and try it for yourself.
Great breakfast and brunch! Everyone enjoyed their meal. We will definitely go back!
While staying at the Civana Resort, we dined at Terras several times. We were never disappointed. The food was delightful. The service was impeccable. Well done!
Very quiet and upscale. Good server, only a few patrons, a shame for such a nice restaurant.
We went for Arizona Restaurant Week. We have been there before. As before, the food was good and service was good. This time there was no one there at dinner since it is between seasons. (We saw 8 other people during or meal.)
Went here for restaurant week. Really lovely resort and beautiful restaurant. Food was really good. Enjoyed the lobster flatbread. Everything was good.
Good food, accommodating staff. Need to ask for water without citrus if you don’t like lemon in your water.
Sadly, It was just okay. The cartelized onion polenta lasagna was not what was expected at all. There was a larger party and we were left unattended for a while. The sunset was more amazing than the dinner.
Love this new property in carefree. A great alternative to the usual restaurants in town. Very friendly staff. Very flavorful and healthy choices. Big wine list. Etc etc
Food was outstanding- service was consistently short at the restaurant all weekend when we stayed at the hotel this place is in.
Bunch for Father’s Day. Beautiful and peaceful place. We had the buffet and everything was great. We will definitely be back!
Love this place! Very creative chef! Always accommodating to gluten free Vegan diet. Love the veggie hummus and the eggplant main dish. So much flavor! Staff is also very friendly.
Food was lack luster and not “plant forward” as advertised. Service got the job done but was nothing special compared to how the service is in the rest of Civana resort. Best part was the dinner rolls. Not worth it
Food and service are wonderful.! Everyone is pleasant and helpful. The dining room is cold and stark. No character. Come and sit on the great patio!
It took almost an hour to get three tacos. Our order was placed behind a table of 30. The bartender couldn't have been more rude.
Slooow service. Not crowded but waiter seemed to be serving all the tables. He put in order for wrong soup (which was tasty and I did eat it as we did not see him or anyone on the floor for close to ten minutes, forgot to put in a drink that was ordered when our main courses arrived. Before we ordered we asked if the salmon was farmed or wild. He did not know (which he should) but said he would ask. He not only forgot to ask but forgot he was supposed to ask which I could tell from the blank look he gave me when I asked him what found out about the salmon. Overall, enough service gaffes that were just not what I would expect from a restaurant that looks and feels (and costs) high end. The wrong soup was good but it was odd that the waiter was very nonchalant about that and also the missed drink, and again, rarely was he or anyone on the floor to flag down. Though he was friendly the service goofs and slowness of the pace of everything on a night when the restaurant was not crowded were significant. I think we are all iffy on if we would go back which is too bad as it is close to where we live.
Great view, delicious food, friendly staff, beautiful decor. Loved it!!!
Went to Terra's for the first time for Mother's Day Brunch. The brunch was very good! LOTS of food to pick from and it was very good. The ambiance was somewhat lacking. It is very much in need of updating. Just a café with no real ambiance at all. VERY noisy! It wasn't that busy but we could hardly hear each other talk. The acoustics in there are TERRIBLE! Probably wouldn't go back due to the ambiance and noise level. The food was good but not worth the lack of ambiance for the price.
This is the first time we have been to the new Terras restaurant since the resort had been redone from Carefree Resort. The food was outstanding! The menu offers a variety of healthy, wonderful options. My husband's black cod was the best he has ever had he said. Everything we ate was presented in a beautiful way as well as being just delicious. The chef has done an outstanding job in preparing wonderful meals as well as putting together a menu that is so appetizing, healthy and exciting.
The wait staff were wonderful as well, very attentive and helpful. Randy was fantastic. The decor is very current and casual. The ONLY bad thing about the restaurant was the noise level was horrible. We were seated as far from the bar as possible by the lovely windows, and the noise from the bar was so loud we could barely hold a conversation. The owners need to place something (partitions maybe?) to allow bar patrons to have a good time without disturbing the diners in the dining room. For Civana to be a totally wonderful spa atmosphere, there needs to be a dining space that is not invaded by the bar scene.
Having said that, the food at Terras is outstanding and we will return for sure.
Sunday Brunch was excellent! There was an omelette station, as well as the usual offerings of fresh fruit, pastries, etc. they have a nice meat and cheese selection, French toast, blintzes, etc.
Thanks for the great feedback, Greg! We appreciate your kind words and look forward to having you back soon as we're always adding and trying new brunch additions. All the best, Justin Macy, Executive Chef
None of the dishes were good. The eggplant dish was super salty.
Uh oh, this is not the experience we aim for. Please accept my apologies? I hope you'll give us the chance to make it up to you. I'll be sure to discuss with my culinary team as well. Thank you for the feedback and I hope you'll let me know next time you visit us so I can ensure a great experience for you. Justin Macy, Executive Chef
