What happened to Terrain Cafe? The restaurant in Gulf Mills was amazing in the early days. I now find that both Gulf Mills and the Devon restaurant are simply mediocre. My recent dinner at the Devon restaurant was very disappointing. The menu is limited, the salmon was "very" undercooked and cold in the middle (even though we had an extensive conversation with the server about the temperature when ordering) and the chicken dish was dry. It was very underwhelming. Because of the ambiance, this could be a great "go-to" spot. But, for now, don't go for the food.
This was my first time having dinner at Terrain Cafe. The service was top-notch and the food was amazing. Everything is fresh and farm-to-table. The ambiance is beautiful with lots of plants and trees. Very nice dinner and enjoyed everything about it!
Delicious, fresh, local food. Friendly, helpful service.
We picked this at random and truly loved the setting and the atmosphere. The menu was creative and the food was really outstanding. We would strongly reccomend. The Maitre d could have smiled more, but the server was very friendly and helped to make the meal perfect.
The service was quite slow. Everything else was great!
I had lunch with my two sisters and the experience was very good. Our waitress was very nice and our food was delivered in a timely fashion. The mushroom soup was excellent.
Had a fabulous lunch--ordered the Harvest Bowl--on April 10th, when the mid-week lunch vibe was great. Went back on April 14th with another party: the Sunday chef, service, and ambiance (the restaurant was empty) were sub-par. Such a swing! Wouldn't recommend.
The atmosphere was beautiful and natural, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious. You can’t go wrong with Terrain! I had such a lovely brunch.
The food and location are amazing. It really is such a great spot. I will say that the service was just okay. Our waitress was rather sarcastic and not friendly. She also forgot one of the drinks we ordered and we had to ask her for it a second time. I've noticed that some of the people that work at the cafe are a bit snarky, whereas everyone at Terrain, Anthro, and BHLDN are so nice and fun.
We had a lovely time at your beautiful new restaurant. Some of us had the terrarium dessert which was worth the 45 min trip by itself. Our server was excellent but it took quite a while to get bread which I had briefed everyone on how good it was. Everything else was spot on.
Delightful setting with excellent choices of locally sourced ingredients blended to offer a tasteful sensation. Very attentive staff.
Went for an early dinner with my husband and toddler. DInner was fantastic. Wait staff was so accommodating to us and brought our daughter's dinner out early. The dining room wasn't too busy because it was earlier in the evening and we could relax. I would recommend this place to anyone!
I have been to this restaurant many times and while it is not a great bargain, the food was good. But, the food was disappointing during my last visit. My burger was so well done that it was close to uneatable. The service was slow and indifferent. The restaurant needs to much better at this price point.
Nice selection of soups, salads and entrees. Their mushroom soup was excellent...and served HOT. We had one of their special 'toasts', which was neither toasted nor a substitute for flatbread. However, it was very good.
Server brought the bill before taking our dessert order. When we ordered we had joked about how we had really only come for dessert. Service is as slow too.
The noise level was very annoying. Would not return because of it
It was our first time at this location. Loved the proximity to our house! Also loved that Anthro was next door! Picked up a few things! The waitress was very good and sweet. We did have a 2 top which was smooshed between two tables so that was kind of disappointing but it was still very nice. Food was good. Drinks were good. Overall nice night.
Reliably simple, good menu, Vegetarian-friendly.
“ Chocolate Terrarium” dessert was very cute, and likely labor intensive, but not worth $13 ( too sweet).
Our waitress, Courtney, was great.
Excellent place, very unique, terrific food and this visit was particularly nice and the waitstaff seems much more on point and friendly.
Food tasteless. Service slow.
We frequently dine at your location in Glen Mills and I find the food much better there. Maybe your still working out the kinks?
Great place for ladies lunch
The green house inspired cafe is such a cute spot for getting together with your girls or a special occasion brunch/lunch/dinner.
Service was slow and disorganized. Food was very good , as was atmosphere. But, overall experience was dragged down by service.
Service was exceedingly slow. 45 minutes till appetizer came. Harvest grain salad was drenched in oil. Requested soft poached eggs which were almost raw but hidden under the Tahini dressing which I had requested to be on the side. Also served with burnt falafel balls. I did not return because I didn’t want to wait another 45 min. Altogether a disappointing visit.
So great!!! Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food.
Acoustics are so bad it's difficult to have a normal conversation with others at the table. Prices are too high for what you get. The menu is limited. The warm bread is great.
Went for lunch. Everything was yummy. However, I question the use of a wooden board with the breakfast board as I ordered eggs over easy and all I could think about was what bacteria might be lurking in the wood! Is that allowed ?
Sigh, I wanted this experience to be better. The atmosphere was the highlight of our visit...a gorgeous space , instagram worthy. However the food was mediocre at best especially for the value. I had the shakshuka which is usually my go to dish if it's on the menu. Eggs were overcooked, not how they should be in shakshuka. My friend ordered the breakfast board ($20) which left a lot to the imagination. I dont have a problem with the menu trying to be unique, but its certainly not the farm to table vibe that they strive for. $6 for OJ that they didnt even bring over a glass for. Service was odd too , maybe our waitress was hungover... too bad for Terrain.
Great dinner for my wife’s Birthday - staff was excellent although a bit sparse at times.
The food is very good. This time I had the burger, which I wouldn't recommend. There are many other delicious options on the menu and save the burger for a really good burger place. The Harvest bowl was excellent.
The food was great and the place is adorable but our service was terrible. Our server was very inattentive and we felt forgotten about several times. I by no means want to feel rushed but 2 hours for lunch is a little excessive.
Overall, the cafe is small and intimate. We thought the tables were very close together. The service was excellent. However, overall the food was just pleasant - I wouldn't say that it was to die for. Definitely healthy serving sizes, but despite the farm-to-table nature of the place, the entrees had a distressing lack of vegetarian options (just one fully vegetarian choice). The terrarium chocolate desert is well worth getting. The potted bread was also clever and tasty, especially with the provided butter. All in all, a solid experience, but one that was probably not worth the final bill.
very limited and esoteric menu and quite overpriced. First and last visit.
Love the room unfortunately Food was mediocre at best. Food came out burnt abd salad overdressed and no one seemed to notice till it was pointed out. Our waiter was very nice which apart from the ambiance was the only good part. 3rd time dining here and food has always been nothing to write home about. Nice ambiance for drinks but that’s about it.
Service and ambiance were excellent. My husband I went for lunch and did not experience the noise levels that we read about in the reviews. My meal, however, was significantly under seasoned (The Harvest Bowl w/ chicken). My husband had the Mushroom soup with a side of house cut fries. Both were fresh and very good. On our way out we purchased a Chocolate Chip cookie and a Beignet. We had them with coffee later that evening. Both were delicious. We’ll be back!
They need to relax the menu a bit. It is overly impressed with word descriptions that outperform the cook staff, in my opinion
Lovely meal . I wished you had more fish choices besides red snappet
Loved Terrain from the moment we walked through the door. Great coffee bar area too. It feels as if you are dining outdoors with twinkle lights and plants and trees. The food was interesting and very good. The service was attentive and the little touches like your check presented in an old book was so charming. Can't wait to go back!
