The food was great. We had the pork chop. The only issue we had was the cost of our drinks. $50 for two glasses of wine and another $45 for our pre dinner drinks
The whole fried fish was incredible. The service was excellent and i will come back!
valentines day. 1 server for 9-10 tables. glasses empty, late for next reservations. not impressed for $400
Not a good experience. This place is supposedly High Class but misses the mark. First table we sit at shakes, waiter puts coasters under the table which do nothing and say is this ok? no it isn’t! We move to new table. Order apps... food is decent but nothing note worthy. Dinner comes, no one properly clears the table ahead of time nor do they replace the silverware! I thought this was fine dining? Waiter lacked knowledge and experience overall of the menu and how fine dining is run. Overpriced experience. My one and only at this place... will not return as Chicago has a million other places doing it right. Try Steak 48 if you want a great fine dining experience near by Trump
Food was excellent . Value was versus good .
I would recommend this to anyone and definitely will go again
It was a great experience and beautiful view! I took myself for my Valentines Birthday with one of my BFFs! The fish tacos and waffle fries were really tasty!
Great service, atmosphere and amazing wine!
Would highly recommend!!
Food wasn't worth the price we paid. Great location and feel but food just ok and very expensive.
This was a lovely restaurant, excellent service, selection of entree's and wine list were superb and the desserts were amazing. They were very accommodating with our table selection request. They sat us with a close window view of the terrace and of course the city views were delightful.
Great place, nice views
Charles graciously seated us with care, Carlos attentively served us with a smile and Andrae made us feel like the most important people in the room. The food was amazing and the team of employees made it even better. Thank you, for the best meal I’ve had in years!
Terrace 16 seems to be in free fall. We ate there in December -- it was OK. It is now less than OK. They were out of oysters, the menu is skeletal, the dishes are not thoughtful in the slightest. Smores for dessert ? Please. The best thing I can say is that the glass of red wine (Zinfandel) was good. This place was nearly deserted. Plenty of staff, but only a few seem to be working. It would be OK for a Holiday Inn restaurant, so I suppose it depends on your expectations. We took the elevator to 16 -- no sign to find restaurant, so came in through back. I think Terrace 16 needs a new manager, a new Chef, and a new attitude.
I requested a cake from the menu for my bf’s bday when I made the reservation, they told me they didn’t have it, so I ordered another thing. After dinner they brought me the cake they had previously said they didn’t have it. A carrot cake, probably the worse cake I’ve ever tried.
We got 2 skirt steaks, one with fries and another one with couliflower. We didn’t like the steaks at all, and we both left half of the steak on the plate. The sauce that accompanied the steak was a brown color water with no salt or seasonings, we tasted with a spoon and it had absolutely no taste.
The food was definitely 2 starts with the price of 5.
I’m giving this restaurant 3 stars because of the service, everyone was very nice and attentious, otherwise it would deserve a 1 star.
The bar and appetizers were great. The dinner selection, however was small and under impressive.
We were there for our anniversary. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our son fell asleep while eating and they went extra mile to make temporary bed with sofa chairs, pillow and blanket. They also gave complementary dessert on our anniversary.
Overall excellent experience here. Staff was incredibly helpful and nice to us. I think 5 different people were constantly making sure we had everything we needed. We got the calamari for an appetizer which was so good. I had the pork chop for my entree and it was delicious!
Fancy place with excelent service where someone can eat in a comfortable environment
This very nice restaurant in Trump Tower, seems to be a situation where people put their politics first, and eating second. This is certainly an excellent restaurant, with good service, good food, and high prices. If it were not in Trump tower, the waiting list would be 2 weeks out. Because of it's location, it is a steal.
We have enjoyed Terrace 16 during the summer (outdoors) and now winter (inside). The staff is always friendly and attentive.
Food very good. Lovely setting. Service outstanding
Food presentation and flavor were perfect. Staff was outstanding and very knowledgeable!
Favorite spot for always good food and service!
Outstanding service and care for details. Loved the Americana breakfast
Terrace 16 Restaurant offers the finest in dining experiences. The chef meticulously prepared for us high end creatives that were fresh and scrumptiously delightful to the palate. From the gracious service to the charming atmosphere, Terrace 16 certainly hit the mark for a spectacular dining experience. This is a must go Chicago scene if you’d like a one of a kind experience. Bravo! Exquisite!
Just what you would expect from a Trump Hotel. Excellence that surprises.
Service was disappointing, hostess called twice to confirm reservation and double checked what we were celebrating, given this I expected the restaurant to at least acknowledge the special occasion. Server forgot our coffee altogether and service felt rushed.
Everything was amazing!
The food was yummy
Great service and staff
Great food great presentation and service
Another fantastic dining experience at Terrace 16. The warm, friendly staff really enhance the meal and wonderful ambiance with amazing views of the city. As with past visits, the food was stellar. Interesting but approachable food; high quality ingredients that are perfectly executed and delicious from start-to-finish. Top notch wine program to complement the cuisine. Can't wait to return!
Brought my good friend from NYC and fiancé to dinner after a long day of wedding planning and shopping. As we entered we were met in the hallway by a woman who was dressed totally inappropriately. She had on barely any clothes and her buttocks were showing slightly out of her miniskirt. We were slightly confused that she was allowed into the restaurant! She seemed to find a place at the bar and ordered and it slipped my mind as our lovely appetizers and cocktails arrived. We had carpaccio and oysters. Both amazing! With some help from the staff we chose a perfect Italian red wine for dinner that matched our various dishes: Egg pasta with lemon, NY Strip, and baked chicken respectively. However, no sooner had we got our entrees did the young woman mentioned before began to prance around the dining room followed by an older man taking pictures of her. Her buttocks again were exposed every time she moved - it was ghastly. We completed our entrees a bit miffed as were the tables next to us. Desert was a take on the s’mores made at the table side which were tasty and adorable. But again, ruining the atmosphere was a couple that had been sat in the main dining room wearing baseball caps, jean shorts, who were sipping beers and who had decided rather than order dinner to order fries.
The food here is great. The service was good. However, the experience was ruined because no overall dress code or appropriate behavior was enforced. They will lose their Michelin Star if this continues.
We love fine dining, but we also appreciate “hole in the wall” type eating establishments, that being said- we are foodies. We went to Terrace 16 for dinner bc we absolutely adore the views from the restaurant overlooking downtown Chicago- the views are outstanding! But, the food is not consistent enough for us to give a great rating... we REALLY wanted to love this place after ordering a a full meal “from soup to nuts”, but we didn’t. The pros were the housemade table bread that consists of a super savory focaccia type with an extraordinary lemon-Thyme-butter, which put it over the top, it’s delicious. We ordered two hanger steaks- one over the kale pepitas and goat cheese salad entree, and the other with pomme frites(French fries)- the steak over the salad was cooked to perfection (medium-rare), but the kale salad was so heavily salted that each bite tasted like sea water- that’s the only way to describe it?! I LOVE a good Kale salad, but the heavy salt in the dressing overpowered all the other flavors- I left half of the salad and didn’t box it, I ate all of the steak. One of our daughters ordered the Kale salad with salmon on top and again she couldn’t finish it bc the salt was too heavy to take for her tastebuds. The other daughter ordered the steak burger which came with French fries, and both were lack luster in that there was nothing special in how they were prepared or tasted. The burger was sub-par and the fries were nothing more than a fast food chain brand type appearance and taste- disappointing for the price and ambiance of such a beautiful restaurant. We love visiting Chicago and we appreciate the Trump Hotels in how they appear to cater to luxury, which we desire, but the only reason why I would ever go back to Terrace 16 would be in the summer time for the Weds or Saturday night Navy Pier firework show one can view from the terrace as you enjoy a drink or dessert(we didn’t order any desserts bc we were let down by the entrees).
Nos fue muy bien. Era nuestro aniversario y nos hicieron un brindis de champagne para celebrarlo.
The Best!!! Love the food!! Love the ambience! Great Decor!
Hubby and I shared calamari appetizer, caesar salad and NY strip steak. All portions were quite large, perfect for sharing. Preparation was imaginative and very tasty. We also shared the mocha souffle and a new dessert, cornbread with sorbet (I KNOW I'm forgetting some of the ingredients, but it was unusual but VERY good!). Definitely worth visiting again! Service was also very attentive!
Service was a bit slow as I think our server had too many tables. Bar service seemed especially slow (even diet cokes). Views are spectacular. Food was average.
Amazing place! We really wanted to go and enjoy this place!
We did have a nice experience. It was quiet and private but felt a little cold to me. We brought a special bottle of wine and really enjoyed talking with the Somalia. I was disappointed when the cork was broken. I know it happens but I like to save special ones. It was also shocking when we saw the $100 corkage fee. I think that is excessive. The service was pleasant. The roasted chicken was delicious.
Excellent service, we were just as tourist in Chicago and they have a beautiful view to the city
